try doing bucketheads 8 finger tapping (finger nubbing). not only is it all on one string moving around the fretboard he invented the technique (with some inspiration from shawn lane). awesome vid though.

Shitty offshores? Dude, Ibanez is the best guitar company I personally have ever used. The only thing I don't like about them is that in the past decade their quality has gone downhill. If you get a model from the 2000's you're pretty much screwed. But anything before that is a beast to play. Some of their newer models are still awesome, RG350DX rules. But things like the Dragonforce Sam Signature are just a piece of crap with the price jacked up because he chose the parts. Otherwise, legendary.

Well I have a 2006 RG350DX and it was better than than the rest of the 00's models. After a few adjustments it's perfect. I changed to D'Adarrio 9's, switched to DiMarzio pickups, and change the pickups and bridge heights to reflect my preference. Low bridge, and pickups are higher on the GBE strings' side, makes hammer-ons from nowhere more defined and evens the volume between the low strings and the high strings. But still, if I did that to a 90's Ibanez...it would be GODLY!! :P

They come standard with the Ibanez Universes (model in the video). It's Steve Vai's signature sevent string (seven string version of the jem with subtle differences i.e. Monkey handle and pickups). This (lochness green) version of the Universe is only avaliable if you find one second hand and they are rare!
