How did you get past the 02 censors? In 96 when the Vortec came out, they started running true dual with the dual cats that had the post o2 censors. My buddy took the cats out of his truck and it murdered the performance. I think he was getting like ten or something. Do they make a bypass kit or something?
@lynxfootball4life so an equal amount of exhaust pressure runs through each pipe, which COULD mean a better sound, and MAYBE fix a small backfire problem. I've seen a few trucks on the road that look like they have a cheap home-made exhaust system (no muffler, with too many uneven bends, or too few pipe bends), because when its cold, you can see one of the exhaust tips blowing out a lot more exhaust than the other. so yeah, it's pointless unless your exhaust isn't done right..
Manual Transmission? I like all the dumb ass's ganging up on you about the straight pipes... I always assumed "Straight pipes" just meant going out the back straight like you have it, there's so many different exhaust systems now days, and you're REQUIRED to have Catalytic Converters on your cars, straight pipe has taken a broader definition then "No Cats and No mufflers." Guys I don't know if you have noticed but its not fucking 1970 anymore.

i took the glass packs off now and theres no way you can have complete straight pipes the exit the back with out the bends over the axles so all you dumb fucks quit arguing

I'm from iowa too, quad city area. Been looking for a truck similar to yours for quite some time. Better hold on to it til it completely falls apart. The five speeds are a bitch to find. Kudos on the IH too, seems like everyone has powerstrokes with John Deere stickers anymore.
