Don't listen to them man. First of all; the song is Honey Bee, not Texas Flood(it's supposed to be in half step) and you are a phenominal guitarist and many guitarists WISH they could play like SRV or even play his music.
Actually, this structure stems from T-Bone Walker, and this exact lick and I mean exact is in Lynrd Skynrd's Guitar Intro to I Know a Little...I'm sure SRV, with know discredit to him, (legendary bluesman), used it as well. But this is a Walkerish type lick...spiced a bit

it's an often used lick by stevie, but not the most. this guy also plays it very sloppy, and there is a rong note. stevie plays a flat 2, after he plays the root the 2nd, the root again and a hammer on pull off to the flat 2. this guy keeps playing the regular 2.
btw, even someone that has never played can point out something wrong if hey have an ear. you have to hear it, not necessarily play it.

well first of all he is talking about the introduction to SRV's "Honeybee" and really countless other lesser known blues tracks. Secondly while this may not be a "note for note" transcription he shows you the basics, really a lick based out of the Aeolian Pentatonic scale, as basic as it really gets. People that obsess over exact specifics don't really understand this style of guitar playing. Im not saying this guy is great or anything but he does do beginner guitar players a favor.

it's an often used lick by stevie, but not the most. this guy also plays it very sloppy, and there is a rong note. stevie plays a flat 2, after he plays the root the 2nd, the root again and a hammer on pull off to the flat 2. this guy keeps playing the regular 2.
btw, even someone that has never played can point out something wrong if hey have an ear. you have to hear it, not necessarily play it.

The poster is not trying "to be" SRV, that's an assumtioon you do based on absolutely nothing but your own ignorance. He's teaching a SRV lick, that's all (actually SRV "stole" this lick himself - guess that makes your hero SRV nothing but a Hendrix wannabee by your own measures)

well first of all he is talking about the introduction to SRV's "Honeybee" and really countless other lesser known blues tracks. Secondly while this may not be a "note for note" transcription he shows you the basics, really a lick based out of the Aeolian Pentatonic scale, as basic as it really gets. People that obsess over exact specifics don't really understand this style of guitar playing. Im not saying this guy is great or anything but he does do beginner guitar players a favor.

That hammer on should be a 1/2 step lower than your playing it. The lick is so cool because the hammer on note isn't in the scale.

the texas flood album cut intro starts off similar, it's in the same box, but it's not the same. i think like the firsrt 5 or six (maybe more notes are the same). it is honey bee i believe.

That's almost the correct way to play the beginning of Honey Bee..... I wouldn't go as far as to say that lick is SRV's staple lick, especially if you don't even know the name of the song you are playing.
