The guitars sound so heavy, the bass shakes all your body, the drums perfectly keep a great rhythm and the voices..the duet between Andrea and Cristina and how they are contrasting each other is unique.... And in this particular video you can see Cristina's amazing contralto vocals, how low she can go and still sing in tune

@LukCPL From what I have read and seen from their live performances they don't always use 7. But they do use Baritone guitars about 90% of the time. Though I have seen them use some traditional guitars tuned WAY down and they use REALLY heavy gage strings. I was in a cover band for a while and when we did their songs we just had Traditional Electrics with a special set up. We used so lighter gage strings from Bass string sets. That helped us get the monster low tone without sounding all rumbly.

yea that is true.....they can sing them but it's just hard to hear over everything else and especially Amy who runs around too much on stage. At least Cristina stands still long enough to do certain parts of the songs correctly. Amy runs around too much & it effects her singing cuz she's inhaling before every line. Amy sounds better at the piano & when she doesn't sing a line, run to the other side of the stage then sing the next line. I prefer Ev on the album instead of live with most songs.
I see your point. I think they sound fine live, but you're right that she sounds better when she's sitting down. The other side of it is that in a lot of songs, Cristina doesn't have to sing a whole song (because Andrea is also there). Whereas in Ev Amy has to sing entire songs. Unfortunately though sometimes good stage presence can take away from vocals, if the singer is moving too much.
I agree so much, I also find it funny how some people are like 'who is that guy singing? he sucks!' and I'm like 'O.O?! He doesn't suck, he's awesome...that band wouldn't be complete if he wasn't there.' I love the band's energy and interaction with one another, it's awe inspiring. While I am a big fan of Evanescence, Lacuna Coil has always been higher up on the totem pole of best bands for me :)

her low vocals are ok but andrea and his voice overlaping with cristina voice dont sound to great he needs to blend in with her voice just like on there acoustic performances it sounds much better..

Nightwish is just another Mainstream band now...they've lost the "Symphonic" part of their band now that Tarja's gone...if only they'd picked another singer like Tarja they'd be fine, but no...they had to pick a mainstream voice....dammit...so yeah they suck..the music is still good..the best track on their latest album is the track with no vocals in it^_^

It's cuz the notes are low. btw judging from your username Going Under you're an Evanescence fan and it's the same deal with that song... the verses are so low, they (Amy in Ev and Cristina here) can barely sing them live. :/
at least I hope she is not losing her voice.

yea that is true.....they can sing them but it's just hard to hear over everything else and especially Amy who runs around too much on stage. At least Cristina stands still long enough to do certain parts of the songs correctly. Amy runs around too much & it effects her singing cuz she's inhaling before every line. Amy sounds better at the piano & when she doesn't sing a line, run to the other side of the stage then sing the next line. I prefer Ev on the album instead of live with most songs.

I see your point. I think they sound fine live, but you're right that she sounds better when she's sitting down. The other side of it is that in a lot of songs, Cristina doesn't have to sing a whole song (because Andrea is also there). Whereas in Ev Amy has to sing entire songs. Unfortunately though sometimes good stage presence can take away from vocals, if the singer is moving too much.
Well it's all good lol, they're both awesome :)

I agree so much, I also find it funny how some people are like 'who is that guy singing? he sucks!' and I'm like 'O.O?! He doesn't suck, he's awesome...that band wouldn't be complete if he wasn't there.' I love the band's energy and interaction with one another, it's awe inspiring. While I am a big fan of Evanescence, Lacuna Coil has always been higher up on the totem pole of best bands for me :)
