Im confused and always have been and have been searching for an answer. Is us going to heaven based on me following the 10 commandments. Or is it purely and only because of Jesus and Jesus pretty much overwrite the commandments? Also what if we sinned before we died and didn't ask for forgiveness right before death. Or what if we don't know we sinned and we didn't confess it? Will we go to hell???? If someone can help me out you can reply here or just email me
@Savatoria the only way to heaven is to trust in what Jesus christ has done on the cross.bieliving that he paid our debt in full the moment he was crusified on the cross. simple as that, and of course you have to have a relationship with God by praying.read your bible.

See there's a different in works. Faith without works is dead. There's a work like giving to the poor, helping people etc, these can't take u to heaven. But there's a work of your faith too. Like Abraham hearing and believing God when he said offer up your son. When Noah was told to build a boat on dry land. Because of their faith, they responded by their works. If we believe, we respond by obeying God's plan of salvation, Acts 2:38. It's so easy to understand. Do what they did on that day.
I personally wish that all who believe will go there, but even Jesus said, Not everybody that says, Lord Lord shall enter. He said, i know u not. What about Repentance? Being baptized, Mark 16:16, do we do away with this? Receiving the Holy Ghost, Romans 9-11.What did they do on the day of Pentecost? How did the church get started, and where did it change from that? Where is the sinners prayer in the Bible? Being baptized is not a work, but a command. Jesus was baptized himself, and so shall we

When a person truly places their faith in the Lord Jesus to forgive them of their sins, He does so immediately. This is not to say that this individual will never sin again, but they will have a change of heart and not want to sin. As soon as a believer sins, they should confess it right away and ask the Lord for help not to do it again.
@Packard034 God is perfect and sinless and due to that nature, He doesn't want sin in Heaven or people around Him that don't love Him.All of us have problems. We categorize wrong but they are all bad to God.Kind of how like some ppl with allergies can't be in the same room with the cause of their allergies.The only "safe" amount is none.That's how God is with sin and we have done something at some point to sin so God could easily send us all to hell.But He made the invitation for everyone.
@mangachan10 Excuse me for being a buttinski, but I couldn't resist. How does an omniscient being hold his creations accountable for sins he knew they would commit before the foundation of the world? Not only that, but God knew before t.f.o.t.w. that most people either wouldn't repent or would chose the wrong religion. Now if that's not might makes right then I don't know what is. But I guess I'm sending myself to hell by merely questioning his will. God knew that also.
@Packard034 (cont)As far as it being "lax" yes and no.Yes because He made it as easy as possible.That's the good news!He set it up and all we have to do is take it.But it isn't easy in the fact that you have to give things up, ppl may persecute u as a Christian, you have to start doing things that aren't comfortable (witnessing, reading the bible).also like notbyworks said, it isn't simply saying He's real and then do what u want.works and inward transformation of character FOLLOW the belief.

so what if you believe in jesus strongly but have anger issues and have committed crimes? Seems pretty lax if the gateway to heaven is simply belief.
