A few words regarding this matter: Praise the boy and his parents. To think these generation of kids wasting their precious time on electronics. This is what every child should be doing. On another note, everything was wonderful. The legatos were exceptional. I could actually hear the theme, and you don't hear that in some pianists' performances. This piece I actually graduated the Conservatory in Moscow with. He played it a little muddy, but nonetheless....extraordinary!

@TheCriticPiano This is not what every child should be doing. Kids should do what they enjoy, and while I'm sure this kid does enjoy piano, and plays it wonderfully, Not everyone has to be this way. If I had had a piano at this age I would have personally worked hard to be good at playing because I enjoy music, but I do not push it upon anyone else.

Nicely played at this age. Though I'd point out fast tempo doesn't necessarily indicate one is better. Tons of kids around 10 can easily learn to play fast, especially when notes follow similar patterns throughout a piece like this one which makes it a lot easier to learn than it sounds. Also Slow music are often most difficult to learn, if you know piano well.

I disagree. You do of course need to enjoy playing, but if you don't wish to play the best interpretation any one has ever heard then what exactly are you playing for? Surely it is about giving people something more beautiful than they have ever heard. The piano world is a competitive one and people get hurt; there's nothing wrong with this, in fact it betters people. It is still a friendly world and one which strives towards an ideal of beauty. It is easy to say 'it's about enjoying yourself'.
