C'est +tot une bonne basse c'est vrai.Le poids SUPER léger est vraiment une bonne chose pour ceux qui ont souvent mal au dos comme moi ! Bon sustain et bonne défintion aussi (1 chouïa un peu trop médium je trouve mais ça se corrige).

It's difficult to say.Perhaps the Fender jazz bass has a "hotter" (or more "particular")sound but the yamaha is really easy to play (a very good neck !).The yamaha hasn't got a "standard" size (a very long size) so it's more difficult if you wanna change the mics than the fender.I hope I hep you,...It's up to you,bye.

the fender has great tone, and is great for recordings, this one has a better playability and is a lot lighter (good for playing live or long rehearsals)

Merci !. En fait,j'avais bossé ce morceau en 1992 et depuis je suis passé un peu un autre style de zik donc c'est une version un peu improvisée (...un peu oublié !!!).Normalement il faut dropper la corde de Mi en Ré (grave) mais comme j'utilise des cordes Xtra- light au ras du manche,ce n'est pas possible de "detunner" donc adaptation necessaire.

in my opinion, for punk or metal you need a "big fat" tone so,i don't think the yam is the good one for you (it's a passive bass).

perhaps, you should try ibanez basses (like sr -like sr 400 or srx -srx 430).ibanez makes really good basses and you can play everything with it.
