i would just like to say. in future videos please don't have music overpowering your talking. (i have done it before and if it is not quiet enough it sounds annoying.)

enjoyable video and thanks for posting. Years ago i purchased "jet engines for model aircraft" by Kurt schrecking. Inside are all the plans to build your own jet engine for RC use. Its one of my top 10 things to do on my bucket list.... cheers :-)
@Shipocute well it doesn't have any quite yet because it's still under construction, but I'm hoping for around 60 lbs of thrust. which may not sound like much, but it should be enough to get a small go kart up to 50mph or higher
@freakinxawesome That's good! is your engine suitable for model rc planes? I'm thinking to build one but I'm a newbie to this jet tech. Anyways, that was an awesome demonstration of your engine.
@YoungMaqler No. Because the jet engine needs highly compressed air to operate.
In outer space there is no air and the jet engines feed on air so it won't work. So as higher the altitude the plane goes the thinner the air it gets and if the plane exceeds it, there is likely that engine will start to fail. That's why the rockets don't have air intakes in their engines. Their main source fuel and oxygen is already stored inside the rocket.
@YoungMaqler Unless you were to feed it oxygen in the intake section as well as introduce fuel in the combustor, then it won't work in space because it does require air.
@lofty8226 Well they'd like you to score at least a 50 on the ASVAB. They'll do a criminal background check on you. you have to be in pretty good physical shape. Having at least 45 college credits helps cause you can enlist as a higher rank. But overall, there aren't too many hardcore qualifications. You just have to be sure that its what you want to do. and be patient, enlisting can be a long process and don't settle for any job, wait for the one you absolutely want to open up.
Thank you so much for such fine explanation, I am a beginner in making of a turbo engine that would support my future project.... thank you so much once again....

can you use a turbo off a diesel or does it have to be of a petrol ?
luketbm 1 month ago
@luketbm Definitely. As far as I know all turbos are pretty much the same and function the same way. So you can use any turbo you'd like.
