Let me just say that as an Indian I have deep, deep respect for Ponting -- I think he is a great batsman and a good captain. Also I love watching him bat. To our Aussie friends out there: I know some Aussies living abroad and I've always found them to be decent, chill, down-to-earth people. There should be no animosity between our countries. There are assholes in everywhere. But we can't let them take over.

I am Indian and watching such a positive response by one of Cricket's heroes makes me respect RIcky even more. As a millionaire captain of the world's best team he's set very high standards for Australian Cricket and has brought the country accolades, awards and trophies unmatched by any other captain from any generation. Barring the few black spots in his career where he has been found to be at fault, Ponting's approach to the game is revolutionary and inspiring. Cheers Punter GL for the Ashes!

That's not what he was trying to say. He simply pointed out that when you are traveling alone, late at night into the poorest areas with a high crime rate, that it's a bad idea to flash your expensive gadgets around.
