  • @Slickrick1853 these locos can also be fitted with radio control. with RC hobbies being so popular(planes, boats, warships, construction equipment, cars & trucks, tractor-trailers, etc.), perhaps thats another reason that people choose these, aside from the price factor of larger scales.

  • I don't see what the big deal is with live steam model trains. It doesn't look anymore realistic then regular model trains. If anything it seems like more of a hassle then regular eletric trains.

  • The deal if for people who love steam locomotives because it's a working engine not really for modelers but steam lovers because it's cheaper than full size steam. Oh and live steam you have more detail in the fact that this model has eccentric rods a electric model doesn't.

  • is*

  • @Slickrick1853 ok then, compare this: would you rather pay $225,000.00 plus sales tax and shipping for a 7 1/2" gauge 4-6-6-4 Challenger, or pay $3,975.00 plus sales tax and shipping for a G scale loco that will not make such a big dent in your pocket? i would take the second choice instead of the first.

  • Does it have a bark box? Or is that just because its pulling a heavy load.

  • Obviously depends on the grade as to how many pounds it will pull.....

It has pulled 20 pounds up a 2.5 % grade recently.....

  • How many cars can it pull up a grade?

  • Sounds good under load too, NICE
