Adamus wrote this piece of music, originally called "The New Atlantis", in his lifetime as Saint-Germain in the year 1776. Some sources tell that he lived around 1710-1784. This was not his only composition, Saint-Germain also wrote works for violins and gave concerts. His composition "Seven Solos for a violin" for instance was published 1758 by J. Johnson in London.
