I have H.S and what use is the humria pen....which called adalimumab........request it from your doctor or an ance medicine such as accutane or a less harmful brand called soriatane....it help control and cures. I also take bleach baths to cleanse the areas. I help with oder and cleans away the bacteria that causes oder in the wounds. I am currently on both medication. the humira is a $1300 or more medication, i am recieving this for free.
iv had my surgery over 3 weeks ago and not a problem since so far so good but part of me is expecting it to come back fingers crossed it dont anyone considering surgery it is very painful and incapacitating for a week or so, i had both arms done at the same time big operation, good luck everyone hope you find someting to ease this horrible disease

in hot weather you will find you will have it worse ,i have been suffering with h.s since puberty and its the most awful thing ever, it leaves bad scaring and it never goes away and the pain is horrific ! noone can understand unless they have it ,i found that a solution which u can get from your gp called dalacin t ..it does work ! also you can use magnesium sulphate i found this amazing , you can get this from ur chemist, use a cotten bud and put it around the affected area g l everyone
hello i have h.s i am awaiting surgery in october, its the best way to get rid of it, for anyone considering this i would recommend it , its to do with your sweat glands u will also find in severe cases as myself you will get them in the groin and under your boobs if female, and sometimes on the bum, they completley remove your glands from under your arm pits, in the groin area it more difficult as they are dotted around so surgery is alot harder,
TNF blockers have proved most effective in helping keep the inflammations infrequent and from spreading. While I have taken all the antibiotics, Accutane, herbal supplements and diet changes, the only major help I've gotten was from Humira and surgeries.
If you would like any help in gathering information, getting a doctors recommendation in South Florida or have any concerns, feel free to email me at cory.kronheim@gmail.com
@designsbypatricia Never looked at it from the genetic aspect of the disease. . Maybe because only one other person in my family had the surgery. Gives me something else to look into. I am a 14 year victim. I have had one surgery and tried all the things that were listed above to no prevail! Surgery helped, but doctors said that there was nothing they could do about the ones under my breast or in my pelvic area! So Until the cure I just try to stay aired out. It helps a bit!
My best advice is avoiding the use of antiperspirants. They pug up pores and make things worse. I didn't think I could get by with just a deodorant, but it turns out to be much better. It takes a few days to get used to after using antiperspirants. At first my underarms were irritated, but that went away. I use either a roll on or a liquid deodorant with a light dusting of a teaspoon of baking soda mixed with non gmo corn starch. It really works and I don't get odor at all. No break outs!
@debicanale i have stopped using deodorant since 2003 but i take few showers a day and sometimes i just wash the nasty areas if i feel uncomfortable thank god a have no B.O :p although the smell you get from the infection is there sometimes but if i wash it with cyteal solution the smell goes away...
@butchanint Another thing I have found is that if I keep the sugar and junk out of my diet and eat more meat, veges, and fruit, and less breads and carbs, I have far fewer breakouts. Regular exercise helps too. I eat as much organic as I can, and I avoid corn and esp. corn products like the plague. I can see light at the end of the tunnel now.
@jsplane thanks Js I've stopped eating chicken now for few days and it is getting better + I've been swimming in the sea and I'm getting good result although i have to take a shower as soon as i finish and use a moisturized soup "nevia" because the body gets so dry after the sea water

HS is awful. I wish there was a cure, but it could be worst, it could kill us. But it really is a hastle, i have it in my underarm, and now my armpits on my shirts are stained with puss from having pops during school, its awful. It's a hereditary disease, and it really just is a heart breaker, like right now, my under arm is killing me, and it hasn't popped yet. :(
I am of normal weight and have never been overweight. I have a worst case scenario of HS.If you are overweight you get more skinfolds and thats where the HS is most likely to occure:thas is why loosing weight can help a bit. But as I said,it is NOT a cure. The only thing to do for a guy like him in the video is a total removal of the armpit area with skingrafts. I´ve had it done on both sides and I have no HS there anymore. You can also try Accutane to keep it under control,it has helped me .Åsa
I've found my HS troubles me a lot less since I stopped eating Red Meat, my wounds used to bleed and suppurate daily, now they suppurate every couple of weeks, or if I use Tea Tree antiseptic cream to bring the pus out
Just thought I'd mention this... there is NO cure at this time for HS and it will keep coming back no matter how many surgeries you have to get rid of it. I've been lucky enough to only have ONE ever and it's on my inner left thigh.... right at the crease of my bikini line. It sucks, but it doesn't stop me from anything really.
I have had HS for 33 years - it is not caused by being overweight or smoking. I believe people who suffer from HS become overweight and smoke because of the suffering HS causes. Physical activity is not only painful most of the time but actually causes boils due to friction rub, sweating... I have had HS since I was 12 and was not overweight nor did I smoke - Being overweight or smoking does not help the condition but losing weight or not smoking will not always improve it either.
Jesus... I can't understand why some people insist to keep being obese , and find all these dumb reasons why the have to be fat. Losing weight helps significantly with HS, its not a cure but it HELPS WHOLE LOT.
In my case and other HS sufferers, i know, which lost lots of fat it improved at least 80%. Writing comments like yours is not fair to people which could be helped if they took care of their weight. IT IS A FACT THAT HS IS MORE SEVERE WHEN YOU ARE OBESE. Do not poison other people minds , only because you feel you have an excuse for being obese .
losing weight helps, but not as much as u say, my mother was 98 pounds, size zero, and was bed ridden with it, i inherited it from her, i am heavy, but no worse off than she was. i lost some weight and it did improve, but the genetics r still there and it is still there
Im not writing this to offend anyone here . I was suffering form it by myslf and yes i was fat and i was getting fatter and fatter, for 15 years, until 3 month ago , when i started losing i get better every day , i hardly have any flareups anymore, and even my old scars are fading away. Lose some weight , what do you have to lose , if that doesnt work , which i doubt, you will be healthier anyways.
I do know that most infor on the net says that this condition is not caused by being over weight , but how can you tell , if it has been studied so poorly? Are you telling that it has been studied enough to tell that its not caused by being over weight , but not enogh, to tell what exact causes are?
Doctor im seeing has been dealing with this condition for many years, and he said that it is strongly associated with obesity. Of course people which are skinny also get it , but most , over 90% who get it are obese or overweight, and skinny people are considerably very mild cases, comparing to those overweight. Rings the bell?
There is no miracle pill to cure this condition , and prolly wont be, you need to face it and start taking care of your body.Even small weight loss helps and the more you lose the better you feel, and will time your body starts working the right way again.
This disease HS is caused by hormones problems, at least in females. Have your doc to check your insulin /glucose levels, particularly IR and GR. Thats why losing weight helps but not cures, because IR and GR need to be reversed and kept on healthy levels.
As long as you will be getting extra LBS on , your hormones as well as your organs WILL NOT work properly, and your condition will be getting worse and worse. There is no miracle pill to lose weight you need to do it by eating less and work out regularly. Then keep the wight off.
it's not a case of washing more often. It's a disease that randomly occurs in a small percentage of the population. Sufferers of the disease can be the most hygienic people on the planet and still get infections.
It has nothing to do with not being hygienic, yes it is good to be hygienic for infection purposes, but most of the people including myself that suffer from this are almost obsessive compulsive about hygiene.
Man i absolutely know how you feel I got two big ones under my arm (wish i got the video to show you). The packing that went into me were about 50 centimeters each!!, changing the packing everyday is so bloody painful i have to take Endone for the pain.
im 16, female, i went to the doctors the other day, and she gave me some antibiotics, if the antibiotic's dont work, will i have to have it removed by surgery?
i have it to since i was 14 im 24 now and you need to get extensive surgery to have the sweat glands removed now that it affects. I now have it all over my body and took anti biotic for years with little success the disease will keep returning until the glands are removed please for you future consider surgery
I feel your pain, i had the exact thing done to me 2 years ago when i was 18 i hurted really bad. Now 2 years later as of right now the thing regrew and its hurting me so bad. I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow to see if they take me in cause it's hurting really bad! Hope everything is better with you and it never regrows.
