All of his violins are kept track of by the Stradivari Society and there are only a few that are missing or stolen. The chances of that being authentic are very, very slim.
If the tuning pegs are 20/1 in taper ratio it's somewhere less than a hundred years old.Almost all violin/fiddles are strad design. If another peg fits,it confirms no chance of original.
im sorry but it looks to be a copy. BUT copies can be worth thousands even. it will depend on the quality of the sound so have it appraised by a luthier if you can. BUT it could be real, if people are still finding strads in attics then i suppose this could be a authentic strad. usually copies are dated in his 'golden period' 1700-1720 so this one, 1925 could be authentic :O but have it appraised, thats the best way
It's actually Antonio Stradivari, not Antonius. He Latinized his name on his labels, using Antonius Stradivarius. Same as Guarneri becoming Guarnerius.
Definitely not a Strad or anything really. That's German factory instrument and is probably worth around 500 bucks, maybe not even that.
The U is correct in Stradiuarius (Latin). After 1730 he changed it to the roman "V", Also, Cremonensis is an obvious clue to it being fake as it should read "Cremonenfis". The font does not match an authentic label. Labels are fairly meaningless anyway. You have to look at the workmanship and I can tell you that it is no where near a quality instrument.
StradiUarius? StradiUarius with a "U" instead of a "V" which would make it StradiVarius. The ones with a "U" are the Strad copies, Although it is probably over 100 years old and still worth in the thousands.
I am sorry to say that it is notmade by A.Stradivarus. What happened with poor label that i is so worn out, like it would be glued outside, not inside the violin?
If it says "germany" on it, its was made 1891 and after. If it says, made in germany or copy of in front of the name..it was made 1957 or so and after. if you see NO country listed on it and you bought it in the U.S.A....I would have it looked at by an appraiser.

Hi ,my grandpa is a violin collector, he owns 23 violins, and i showed him this video, and he wanted to know if its real ..
jamaica1681 2 months ago
@jamaica1681 It's very unlikely. It may be an old violin, maybe another maker. But I highly doubt it's a Stradivarius.

I have one too...The labels inside have mislead many people.

@not2vu hello I have a question ... how can i know if a Stradivarius violin is original
caricoco2 2 months ago
Excuse me but weren't his violins more of a bright red? Or can the wood darken like that with age?

I´m surprised you haven´t put it in the microwave or blender..... all your fiddles usually meet similar fates! lol!

@Violasax haha this one was lucky lol, it was the chosen one lol!

Definitely not an original (the violin industry has accounted for all of the Strads), but not necessarily a bad or value-less violin.

This is a copy. Too much of the finish is still on the piece and it looks to be artificially antiqued. Nice try.

is there " Antonuis Stradiuaris Cremonensis Faciebat anno 17XX" or something similar to that written inside?
is it possible to show the full label?
there is a big chance that you have got an original there.
you should have it looked at by a sworn expert to determine the real value.
