  • what song sampled boom L.A Califoani-ay part?

  • This single entered Billboard R&B chart, then called the Hot Black Singles, the week of 7/15/89 and peaked at #79 but did not make the Hot 100, also known as the pop chart, according to the invaluable book "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Singles 1942-2004" by Joel Whitburn. Interestingly, Breeze, whose given name is Morgan Rodriguez, was born not on the West Coast but in Harlem. Who would've guessed it?

  • Nice bmw cabrio

  • Do you realize The LA Posse were from NY?

  • i still get confused. i used to think the Mikey D-Johnny Quest-LA Posse was from Cali until a good friend of mine pointed out the LA is for Laurelton, Queens.

but now: ain't this the same Breeze who rocked with King T and Ice Cube on the "Played Like a Piano" joint--and murdered his verse, at that? i'm wondering is this is a different "LA Posse" than Mikey D's crew. i'll check it out further after posting this. peace

  • L.A. Posse is from LA Dwayne "Muffla" Simon & Daryl "Big Dad" Pierce. their still out there on FB

  • good looking on the knowledge. much appreciated!

  • TRUE.

  • same mc breeze on played,uh and hes from philly...

  • Breeze is from NYC but grew up in Cali in the valley and that's real

  • There were TWO LA Posse's 1 from the east and 1 from the west but the OG is from the west.Breeze is from the Cali LA posse. We met them east coast cat back in 89 in NY.They were cool during the New Music Seminar.

    Steffon aka Roach Killa

  • good looking on the info and knowledge. peace fam!

  • @lefsyde LA posse....was the Laurleton Queens Posse w/Playboy Mikey D...LL's former rhyme partner. The other LA posse was Bobcat and Dwayne SIMON WHO PRODUCED LL's album Jam Master Jay named them....

  • Not the 1 with Breeze.but there is 1 from the east props to Mikey D and Johnny Quest

  • ayo this has all the essential ingredience for a classic hip hop song and video...

    1.) hot lyrics

  • At 1:59, did I detect a subtle MC Hammer dis?

  • dam this the shit before all this thug shit this was waz happening

  • OMG!!! This is a classic. The Golden Era of hip hop 1984-89.

  • this was the hit.. that cat at the end was dancing it up!lol!!!

  • That cat with the white pants is dancing his ass off.....

  • Damn, loved this song back in the day & was lookin' to download on Limwire but no such luck as with "pay ya dues" by Low Profile. Funny watching it cause the models back then were, shall we say "sub par", LOL. But none the less, very much a classic vid.

  • yo goodlookin for putting this video up. i remember when it first came out and loaned my tape out & havent been able to find it since . this is the first time i heard it in over16 years. goodlookin

  • The horns are a sample of "From The Love Side" by Hank Ballard. He was a protege of James Brown.

  • And the chorus is from "Hollywood Squares" by Bootsy's Rubber Band.

  • one word

    CLASSIC

  • it hellah funny to see me gettin my groove on good lookin fam.

  • are you the dude in the white pants? ;)

  • Oh I 4got "GET THEBURGERS WIMPY" LOL

  • Alot of people dont remember this I know it from the video and these cats killin it with the dance moves.......hell the lyrics was tyte as heck too. Ol skool 4eva

  • This was summer '89 when this came out. I got this and King T "Bass" from an MTV raps episode around that time.

  • yo i member when this 1st came out i blew some speakers in my whip ..lol this was the shyt

  • Breeze with the hits LOL.

  • THE YOUNG SON OF NOONE!!!! Bringin it back!!

  • Wow, I was looking for this

  • This song breeze was flowin, suprised we didn't here more from him.

  • I have been trying to find this song for ever. Thank YOU! I still know the entire first verse and all the dance moves.

  • Hey - THANK YOU so much for putting up this video. I've been looking for it ever since I saw them on Yo! with F.F.Freddy way back when! You've made my day!

  • Do you have the CD for this?

  • i have it on cassette tape and i have this track on the 12" single.

  • is it very good? i can only find the CD for $30.00 and i wanna know if it's worth the $30

  • $30! Damn, I don't know if it's that good! It's got a few dope tracks on it. I need to convert some of my old tapes to cd like the Breeze and also Fila Fresh Crew!

  • if you think $30 is bad Act A Fool was $120 at one point

  • that is crazee. i've got act a fool on vinyl. i should convert that one. i got a nice marantz cd recorder for ripping vinyl.

  • nice' i should get something for rippin' tapes, I got Act A Fool on cassette but i don't have a cassette player anymore so the only King Tee I can listen to is from my Ruff Rhymes CD

  • for the price of act a fool and t.y.s.o.n you could probably get a nice used recorder!

  • yeah i should get one, but i also like collectin' CD's, I got a massive stack of westcoast oldschool rap, gangsta rap, g-funk, underground, horror-core and 70's-80's funk. Funk i can buy for $3-5, it's the oldschool, g-funk and horror-core that are so damn expensive, mostly the oldschool. hahaha $120 for Act A Fool, someone accually bought it, i was waitin for the price to go down and if people are buyin CD's for $120 i'm never gonna get it

  • wow. i got lots of old school rap cds as well. a little funk. tons of drum and bass and dancehall. i also have many 12" old school rap singles. Those are cool too with the different mixes, accapella, instrumental etc.

  • yeah, i wanna get those extras that come with the 12" records, work on some intense remixes with those acapellas

  • wayy too sick PEAS IM NOT POPPIN EM

  • Iz'nt this song from tha album The Young Son Of No One?

  • geah, TYSON and Scene of a Homicide were bad tunes as well.
