you don't mention your age. If you're a younger person, take a look at the Diamond Edge for $300. It comes with a rest, sight, and quiver. Diamond is a subsidiary of Bow tech so these are good bows. Not a "kids bow" either. But all of the makers offer some decent starter bows though. Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of bowhunting. Just a warning, once you try it, expect to be hooked for life. It's worse than crack. LOL.

A Martin Bow was recommended to me, for that same price range, seems to be the best bang for your buck, talk to your local pro shop, try a bunch out first.

you want power go look at traditional flight bows. 150# longbows and they're actually pullable. try pulling that much draw weith with a cammed bow! i have no problem with cams, i'm just saying not to count out bows just because they don't have cams
