  • Montana is the greatest of all time. It's not about stats it's about making everyone around you better and no one did that like #16

  • Dont get me wrong Favre is a great QB one of the greatest, anybody whon truly doubts that is crazy he was just more agressive than most greats a lot more agressive which led to his many INTS, with that said he should nevvvvvvverrrrrrrrrrr be above Joe, John or Steve all three were more complete QBs and their numbers and rings show it...

  • 1. Montana 2. Brady 3. Young 4. Marino 5. Aikman 6. Bradshaw 7. Brees 8. Fouts 9. Moon 10. Tarkenton 11. Unitas 12. ??

  • @camperdiesel123 No Elway?

  • Montana had wow just (((8))) fumbles,,and those all came when he played his last 2 yrs with the Chiefs,,and only 5 were lost,& Joe's lifetime passer rating is 92.3,,compared to Bretties 86.0,,And let us remember ,Joe WON 4 Superbowls in just 16 yrs,,that's 25%,,of his yrs played,,Even better if you don't count the Chiefs!!

  • I might add Farve had 302 Fumbles,,to go with his 336 Interceptions,,for a total of 639,,Gee thats so NOT Great..Period!!!

  • This list is so asinine it's not even funny,,NO one would ever put Farve above Montana,,Unless your looking for the Interception Records,,One ring Vs, 4,,Farve is the most overrated loser on the planet..On my list he'd be right there with Geoff George,,Or somewhere in the lower top 200,,Just because the Clown played for 20+ yrs, doesn't make his ass great over 500 TD's,,how many were inside the 5 yrd line,,BUT over 300 Interceptions,,My Mother could throw 500 TD's in 20 yrs LMFAO

  • Well done guys you can through a ball but is there any skill involved in any U.S sports?

  • @shadowfinder1979 what do you do kick a ball U.S has some of the best athletes.

  • This is such a terrible list! Marino?!?! Here, let me give you the greatest QBs of all time:

    1. Gino Torretta

    2. Ryan Leaf

    3. Akili Smith

    4. Joey Harrington

    5. Curtis Painter

Geez, man, you need to do your research. My list is obviously superior to yours.

  • @cadburybabies If you don't think Marino belongs on the list then you are not even worth the time to explain why you are wrong.

  • @filthyswit My gosh. Did you even read my list? I put Curtis Painter as one of the best ever. Do you really think I was being serious? Ryan Leaf? Of course Marino would be on my list. Btw, I don't know if you're a Dolphin fan or not, but I really think Matt Moore will be the best 'Phin QB since Marino. I went to college with him. Great guy. He's the real deal.

  • marino??????????????//

  • 1-Montana

    2-Brady

    3-Marino

    4-Favre

    5-Manning

    6-?

    7-Elway

    8-Young

  • come on u dont know shit about football !

  • fu joe montana is frist fu fu fu fu fu

  • Be real, break down the time barrier. The top 2 QBs of all time in any order are Brady and Montana. Montana has one more SB ring but he did it with a good defense and Jerry Rice plus a HOF-snub of a RB. Tom Brady did it 3 times with Jabar Gaffney, Troy Brown, and Deion Branch, and a sub-par RB and really only one constant on defense (DL Richard Seymour, who is now a Raider).

  • @youngj1921 I'm guessing Belichik and a great D had nothing to do with it?

  • Peyton manning was 1 game away from being known as the greatest QB in history

If they wouldve won it wouldve been hands down manning no argument.

No other qb has been 1 game away from being known as the greatest Qb of all time

Maby if Brady wouldve won against the giants but then again they haven't won a playoff game sense spygate and Brady wouldnt be squat with out bill but regardless manning and brady are top 2 all time

  • @ferrarimike23 Brady would have been without a doubt the single greatest QB of all time, had he beat the Giants. I doubt 1 ring vs 2 rings would matter that much (Brett Favre for example, has one ring but considered better then QBs with multiple rings).

  • Elway my ass Ohnestly peyton manning and Tom Brady both were better then Elway

    Sorry to burst your bubble

Btw superbowls are a team award not an individual award so that doesn't mean shit

  • @ferrarimike23 I'll give you Peyton Manning but the only thing 6th round draft pick Brady was good at during his 'dynasty' was learning how to read illegally gotten defensive teams' playbooks. {Sorry to burst YOUR bubble Clyde!}

  • @ferrarimike23 Exactly. Good job proving his point. Elway did a lot w/no real supporting cast so many years. The exact opposite of Brade and Manning. Good try though. BTW I'm a Falcons fan, no fan boy by any means, just saying.

  • favre above elway ? marino above elway? youre a fucking crackhead - farve WISH he had elways career and marino drools over elways superbowl rings everytime he sees them and if elway was in monatanas shoes in san fran elway would have won ten superbowls- get a clue dickhead. elways the best qb to ever touch a football and you dont know shit.

  • Neither Favre and Marino should be higher than 3

  • overrated, He would have been mediocre at best if he didn't have the best dominating offensive and defense talent when he played. New Englands offense has always w/i the past decade been mediocre and ever changing. however Brady has a unique talent to quickly recognize what the defense is , his quick intelligence also enables him to scan open receivers seconds quicker despite less time to throw the ball than montana ever faced.

  • CHAMPIOSHIPS ARE LIKE A MYTH IN A SENSE ,YOU NEED A TEAM TO WIN A SUPERBOWL,JOH ELWAY WITHOUT TERREL DAVIS,JOE MONTANA WITH NO RICE,YOUNG WITH NO RICE,TEAMS WERE LOADED WITH GOOD TALENT BAK THEN WITH NO SALARY CAP

  • Peyton manning has never had a great d behind him and an average oline. Put him in bradys spot and hed be called the greatest.

  • 5.Alex Smith

    4.Matt Leinart

    3.Tim Couch

    2.JaWalrus Russel

    1.Ryan Leaf

  • 5. John Elway

    4. Peyton Manning

    3. Dan Marino

    2. Tom Brady

    1. Joe Montana

  • Where da fuck is Warren Moon?

As far as I am concerned, had Warren Moon not lost 5 years of his life in the Canadian Football league, he would be in the top 3. Because, the biased NFL didn't think an African American was "smart" enough to be an NFL QB. He is quite possibly the most "Underrated" QB in NFL history. He put up sick numbers in the NFL with a 5 year late jump from all of the other best QB's in the NFL.

  • Sure, the pats have had better teams than the colts, but in a pure qb comparison, you can't argue that brady is better than manning.

  • 1.Tom Brady 2. Joe montana 3. Brett farve 4. Dan Marino 5. Payton manning

  • haha aikman i was joking UNITAS has to be in there even tough i dont know who the fuck he is howdy yankies arguing like a bunch of rednecks have a nice day : )

  • 1. dan marino 2. joe montana 3. john elway 4. jim kelly 5. troy aikman

  • no marino in top 5. marino, manning, elway, montana, unitas,

  • 1. Dan Marino

    2. Tom Brady

    3. Joe Montana

    4. Brett Farve

    5. Peyton Manning

  • The greatest QBs are Matt Leinart, Tim Couch, Tavrus Jackson, Jake Plummer, Dante Cullpepper, Sean King, and Cordell Stewart. lol

  • 1.Johnny Unitas

    2.Joe Montana

    3.John Elway

    4. Bret Favre

    5. Peyton Manning

  • Joe montana should be on top

  • Marino is the man

  • Manning is better then Brady. Brady has all the time in the world to throw the ball, Manning does not have a good line But he still makes it happen he is like a coach on the field......

  • Marino had above average talent around him he was given the hand he was dealt with. He had the quickest release ever, the most 4th qauter comeback wins ever and he stayed with Miami his entire career that's a true loyal athlete. Everyone always says Montana well sure he was amazing as well but so was the 80's 49's one of the greatest dyanasties ever they had a awesome defence, the greatest WR of all time Rice, Roger craig. The list goes on. Joe was part of the system, Dan was the system!!

  • @boskey10 Dan Marino has over 3000 more passes than Montana, and only 20000 more yards. Marino would often audible away from running plays so he could throw more. He was selfish, and that' why they never won championships. Montana put the team before himself, won, and put up good stats.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem lol only 20,000 more yards? thats a huge difference. He beat him in every statistical category. I would audible to had the team i played for didnt have a running game just look at the old stats thats proof. How was he selfish when his entire career was played for one team? Montana played for a dynasty the team he played for won chamipionships not just him. Thats why every player, choaching staff, and people in the organization gets a ring not just one player.

  • @boskey10 I guess you didn't read the whole 3000 more pass attempts. Of course he'll throw for more yards when he has almost 3000 MORE FUCKING ATTEMPTS. Why can't you see this? Joe Montana also averaged more yards pet attempt and average yards per attempt. Lets not forget Marino's sub 60% completion percentage. Montana made the 49ers a dynasty, he elevated himself in the playoffs and the Super Bowl while Marino threw TWO interceptions to ruin it in 19.

    Joe is better.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem Montana made the 49ers a dynasty? It wasn't Walsh and all those other coaches under him that ended up being head coaches themselves that made them a dynasty? It's the SYSTEM. How else can you explain that Montana's back-ups also won games? And who followed Montana? Another HOFer named Steve Young. And then it was a guy named Jeff Garcia who made 5 pro bowls! You still wanna tell me it's not the system? Even Bill Walsh said "Montana was part of the system; Marino WAS the system"

  • @filthyswit Because Steve Young was a great player so Montana must be bad? All this system talk means nothing, the fact is Montana got it done. You can say wah wah system QB and completely ignore EVERYTHING else I said, it doesn't matter. Montana was better because he put up good stats without having to throw an INSANE amount of times, and won.

Citation needed for that last quote.

  • @boskey10 And don't come to me with the "Hurr they had no running game!" In the 1984 season, the season Montana and Marino met in the Super Bowl, the 49ers rushed the ball 534 times, the Dolphins 484 times. Yet the 49ers only had about 600 more yards. The running game wasn't terrible and shouldn't be used as a crutch to hold Marino up and make him look better.

  • Comment removed

  • DAN MARINO WAS ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST. THEY'RE WERE CLSOE SECONDS BUT ON PURE SKILL AND COMMAND OF AN OFFENSE, HE WAS IT.

  • One thing that I don't like about these list is when someone says they never won the big game. Hey my Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer, and he is just barely OK. How about the team around them? Some great QB's have shitty teams around them...Archie Manning. My favorite QB's are Dan Marino and Dan Fouts and they never won the big games no defence and little running games. Let's see how well the Colts play in 2011 without Manning since he is great.

  • @beetles2011 i think we see the colts now haha

  • dude joe montana is not even half as good as tom brady and peyton manning are

  • @The2realproductions

1 Joe Montana 4 rings never lost, never threw a pick in a Superbowl and was the first true west coast OB

2 John Elway Superbowl rings calm and cool inside the pocket with all those yards wow.

3 Steve Young, 1 ring but if you look at the numbers no OB was more efficient. Young was the smartest QB ever and very hard to tackle

    4 Tom Brady

    5 Bart Star

You just never saw them play. I'm not doubting Peyton Manning but I honestly think his career is over. Tom Brady is better

  • who the fuck made this list? are you a fuckin moron? Jesus Christ! this is the stupidest shit i've ever seen. dumb ass. don't watch much football do ya?

  • joe montana is the best and always will be

  • Forgot Peyton Manning. just sayin

  • Favre?????!!!!! Overrated - should not be here!

  • @RAIDERS58th get him outta here he shouldnt even make the list

  • @222taormina So true. Whoever made this video obviously doesn't know the history of the game. How about some truly great old, old, old school QBs like Otto Graham, Bobby Lane, Johnny Unitas, Bart Star, Terry Bradshaw, Archie Manning, Y.A. Tittle or Bob Griese? All of whom are comparable or even superior to those on this list.

  • not a bad list....Marino would of won superbowls with the talent Elway,Montana and Young had around them.

  • John Elway is the best QB ever...he carried some pretty mediocre teams on his back in the late 80's/early 90's until he finally had a team around him he could win the whole thing with in the mid 90's. brett favre and dan marino over elway?? what a laugh.

  • @nickfromCO Marino is the GOAT. John Elway couldn't carry Marino's jock strap.

  • @DoesNotExist305 marino=never won anything

  • @nickfromCO So what? This isn't boxing. A player isn't judged by how many championships they won. This is a team sport.

  • @nickfromCO What's that supposed to mean? His teams were terrible. Put Montana there and they don't even make it to the superbowl

  • *I don't mean this list in the video but rather my diddly pooh list.

  • This one's for John!

  • Montana is #1.

  • paulthegreat13: This video is so inaccurate that it should be banned from the internet.

  • 1.Montana

    2.Elway

    3.Brady

    4.Marino

    5.Starr

  • @kickyerass yea ooohaa that list is retarted elway in front of brady

  • @revospeed100 How does a retarded person spell retarded? Brady is my guy; the one I root for every week/ the one I want to say is the best ever. Patriots are my home team, and the ones I want to say are the best ever. I'm being honest and smart, you idiot child. We'll see in February. If the Pats win the SB- I'll say both those things.

  • haha Bradshaw???? nooo... This is a pretty good list... Mine is not exactly the same, but probably same guys in it! assuming we leave out Peyton and Brady

  • No Bradshaw?

    Unitas...

  • I think its funny people would rate a QB better than the other, because of Super Bowls. Football is played with 21 other players that have to perform. People really rate Montana higher than Elway or Bradshaw even in the top 25, because of rings... Bradshaw and Favre were hard throwing INT machines surrounded by dominant defenses. The media peddles who they want and the cronie public just follows.

    1. Elway

    2. Marino

    3. Montana

    4. Manning

    5. Unitas

  • Major Props to you my friend.

I think you almost Nailed it.

    Here is my top 5.

    1.Marino

    2.Montana

    3.Elway

    4.Manning

    5.Unitas

I give you major credit though.

You actually take in to account the skill of the QB and not the skill of the team and most people are too ignorant to do that, so for that I applaud you.

  • Steve Young? Top 5?

LOL, he was a CHOKER when it counted in the Playoffs.

All that Talent and Only 1 superbowl ring in the 90's.

    His Only Championship was Bought.

  • 5. John Elway

    4. Peyton Manning

    3. Tom Brady

    2. Johnny Unitas

    1. Joe Montana

Marino is probably the greatest passer to play the game, not the greatest QB.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem Manning over Elway??? And Marino and Starr??? And Staubach and Tarkenton??? Manning may be on the top 10. I'd take Fouts or Favre before him.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem y ppl constantly put unitas in front of manning and brady i'll never know.

  • @flchamp1 Unitas, more than anyone else, invented the QB position. It was MUCH harder to throw in his day, not to mention the beatings that were taken by the QBs then. Brady and Manning couldn't survive in his day, let alone put up the stats they do now.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem ohhhhh boy. thats everybodys favorite line "such and such wouldnt/couldnt of survive in his day". plz man cut it out. unitas was a lil guy who played against smaller defenses. brady and manning are big guys that play against huge men. im pretty sure manning, brady, jim kelley, favre, marino could of played in the days of unitas. thats like calling adrian peterson a pussy cuz he plays with all that protection and he wouldnt of survived in jim browns era. seriously cut it out.

  • @flchamp1 You're kidding right? Have you ever even watched a game Unitas played in? He was physically abused. I can't use the they wouldn't survive in Unitas' day but you can use the Unitas wouldn't survive in Manning's day? IF you're too ignorant to understand the game of football has changed, what with modern passing rules that favor the offense, I don't even know why I'm talking to you. People who know their shit know Unitas was one of the greatest. The running game hasn't changed really.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem ok so now you're misunderstanding what i said. i never said unitas wasnt an all time great i wrote i dont know y ppl always put unitas over brady and manning. thats not saying he shouldnt be top 10 thats saying i believe he shouldnt be infront of brady and manning. qb's of all eras have been taking beatings. im glad you wont use the whole he wont survive in his era thing.

  • god people are so bad at making these vids

  • knew this video was shit when I saw steve young come up in top 5

  • Wrong. seriously. Dan Marino and Brett Favre over Roger Staubach or Terry Bradshaw or Joe Montana? Someone didn't do his research. Marino was bad in the playoffs. A great QB can make the comebacks and can lead his team to the ultimate goal. Not just set records. Go back and do some research and watch my video. I did my research before I even started do anything else.

  • @Qbmaster12 WRONG, A great QB also has weapons to throw to. Bradshaw???? Really?? You are aware that u are the only person in America that would actually believe that Terry Bradshaw should be ranked higher than Favre and Marino. You can argue Marino because TEAMS WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Hence Bradshaw. Have you even seen the guys numbers. He was carried. The only place he's top 10 of anything is wins (Team Achievement) and SB (Another Team Achievement).

  • @Qbmaster12 This is a list for QB's, (Individual achievements considered). That makes every one of these guys worthy. If you start trumping people based on a TEAM STAT, THEN its should not be "Top 5 Greatest QB's." You might wanna go back and do more in depth research about the guys you are trying to argue for.

  • @wasad20 Um ya...and team achievement, did you consider that? Obviously not even close to that. Marino and Favre were great but you got guys that played on completely higher levels than them. I said other than individual achievements in my argument and extended to what they did with the team. Next time you argue with someone, know your facts and ur basis of ur argument

  • @Qbmaster12 FACTS?? Basis?? The fact of my argument is that SB championships is a team accomplishment. The basis of my argument is that YOU HAVE NO (0) (NADA) legitimate reason as to why Favre shouldn't be on the list. You can say Marino never won a championship, but when you ask anyone else, they will tell you that if Marino was a better player/qb/athlete, whatever than Bradshaw. Also your stat is bullshit and skewed. Who do you think you are arguing with an amateur?

  • @Qbmaster12 You say bradshaw had better playoffs, the guy would attempt like 19-22 passes a game. The team did not depend on him to win. Marino would throw the ball 30+ times in the playoffs because thats all they got. Anyone with an elementary education in probability knows that you are more likely to make mistakes, and have in-completions the more you chuck the football. To now get to Favre, the guy has one a SB. Hands down he is TOP 5 QB TO EVER PLAY THE GAME.

  • @Qbmaster12 since staubach won 2, he's better?? Anyways your opinion is clearly rare and it must be just yours because regardless what u say, Favre will be 1st ballot HOF. Also in the NFL top100 players of all time that members of the media did, the guy is ranked #20 overall. HIGHER THAN bradshaw, staubach, brady....with the exception of Montana. I'll leave you to your opinion. Mine is simply that this guy made a great list BASED ON the only thing you can base it on. INDIVIDUAL ACCOLADES!!

  • Sorry, but if Johnny Unitas isn't on the list, it's not a real list. It seems like most people on youtube make "top favorite qbs of all time, because most lists including this one are very poor and seem to be put together hastily with little or no research on the history of the NFL.

  • @mdf3962 i think it's pretty tough to judge a QB that's before our time.

  • @DarkCode Does Dan Marino know that he has a stalker on youtube? How many times a day do you jerk off on his fat head poster in your room? I bet you cried like the bitch you are when he retired with ZERO super bowl rings.

Super Bowl XIX Montana, who was named the Super Bowl MVP, completed 24 of 35 passes for a Super Bowl record 331 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 5 rushes for 59 yards and 1 rushing touchdown.

Montana OWNS Marino. Just like Marino owns you son.

  • @bigbadosker Someone should go back and see how many records Marino has over Montana. That someone is you idiot.

  • @DarkCode LOL don't make me laugh. A superbowl win is not a record. Other than i doubt he has more than 1. Moron.

  • @bigbadosker The only thing Marino owns is your butt hole son. He also owns as many super bowl rings as girls you've fucked. No if he just had as many rings for every cock that has been in your mouth.............

  • HOW IS MARINO #1 WHEN JOE MONTANA BEAT HIM AT HIS ONLY CHANCE AT GETTING A RING IN 84.

  • @TWINKIEful Because Montana did not beat Marino. The 49ers beat the Dolphins. Is Bob Griese better than Fran Tarkenton because the Dolphins beat the Vikings in that SB? Are Phil SImms and Doug Williams better than John Elway because because their teams beat the Broncos in the SB?

  • How could there possibly be no Johnny Unitas. He was one of the first great players at the QB position.

  • @DarkCode Everybody KNOWS that Otto Graham was the best QB to EVER take the field.

  • @bigbadosker LOL riiiiiggggghhhht. I haven't even heard of him hes that good LOL.

  • @DarkCode You call yourself and NFL fan and you don't know who Otto Graham was?

  • @bigbadosker I don't follow old geezers playing with less athletic ability and in simpler times. Any NFL player today would be an Allstar far above any before the 1960's maybe even the 70's and early 80's. Come back to me with someone from the past 30 years and i'll care.

  • @DarkCode You are officially a douche bag. How can you have ANY respect for the game if you don't understand it's history and players. You think the greats in the NFL like your butt sex buddy Marino just dismiss the all time greats from the past? You don't think they learned anything from them? You are a dolt and not worthy of conversation. Go jack off on your Marino big head poster you tool bag.

  • @bigbadosker lol I have respect for the game. I know it took a few losers to make winners. I'm not gay but you sure have alot of gay fantasies keep them to yourself fag lol

  • @DarkCode Did you really just laugh at your own joke by typing LOL? You are a toolbag. Dan Marino could NEVER win the big game. His playoff win percentege sucks ass becuase he ALWAYS choked in the big game. Montana had Marinos number since the beginning of time and still does. Dan is a crybaby bitch on TV with anger problems. Probably becuase he oculnt manage to win a ring and he got to watch Farve break all his records. Crybaby bitch.

  • @bigbadosker lol I always laugh at idiots like you who claim they know the game but are reluctant to mention the fact the 49rs had probably the best if not one of the best teams ever when they had Montanta. Its a team game not a quaterback game. If Marino was on that 49rs team instead of on the average Dolphin teams he would have had atleast 4 supebowls if not more. And his stats are still overall the best ever. No one has even come close to the number of 400 yard plus games he threw.

  • @DarkCode Once again you have proven how fucking stupid you really are. Montana won his first in 81 when the 49ers were NOBODY. They went 10-6 and were not even supposed to make the playoffs. Montana beat the living shit out of Marino in 84 and he didn't even have Jerry Rice.

You do know that Marino already has a wife right? He doens't need a turd like you swinging off his fucking nutsack.

  • @bigbadosker Don't try to compare Montana to Marino thats like comparing a Finely tuned sports car to a beat up junk car. Montana won with the best teams and everyone knows it. Not having Jerry Rice doesn't matter he had a whole good team on his side. And stop cursing at me idiot or ill block your sorry ass shows how weak your argument is you have to curse because you have no brains.

  • @DarkCode The point I had to make exactly, its not from being young... People are just ignorant, they confuse a 50 man team with a 12 man team. Football is the ULTIMATE team sport. I have a problem with people giving QBs all of the credit for wins that a team gets. One basketball player can make a team a contender, one football player improves the team. Montana on the 49ers wins 4 or more rings, so does Elway. Brees, Manning or Rivers win multiple rings on the recent Steelers or Patriots teams.

  • @biggelove09 Yea its a Team sport and you can't win a superbowl with one good player. The reason all those quaterbacks won the superbowls is because they had many great players and played well as a team. Not because they had a the best quaterback. Put marino on any of those teams they would have had many more superbowls lol he just never had the best team. Still had more records overall than anyone. And again the 400 yard or more record he has will never be broken. He had like 12 or 14 of those.

  • @DarkCode And by that logic Jim Brown who played in the 50s was just some old geezer without athletic ability. You are a fucking moron.

  • @bigbadosker Yea pretty much lol. He would be college level at best compared to players now a days.

  • @DarkCode Dumbest shit I've ever heard anyone say about Jim Brown. I rest my case.

  • @bigbadosker If we were living in the 50's but this is the 2010's so get lost

  • @DarkCode You don't have a clue. Jim Brown would be a superstar in todays league. You have no respect for the game if you're going to dis all the great players that came before. Go suck off Dan Marino you biased douchebag.

  • @DarkCode Please don't block me.........PUSSY

  • @PrezPoet Fantastic reply.

  • Marino.. how old is this survey.. Where is Troy Aikman.. Big Ben will be on this list soon and should bump Dan Marino( who should be between 6 and 10 of all time behind Favre..cough

  • He either judges qb's with the qb's stats, a dolphin fan, or it's just a opinion list.

  • Uhh,WHERE THE HECK WAS PEYTON?

  • Or, defense? You're? Emphasizing? Imbeciles should not be allowed to comment. Learn English, you are embarrassing yourselves. QB's? Young has no place in the top 5, Farve should stick ti Wrangler commercials. Aikman, Fouts, Tarkenton, even Warner, could take the place of Young.

  • the term "Top 5 Greatest Qb's Ever " is based on ones opinion. apparently, his choice is based on his criteria. agree or disagree, it's still HIS opinion. how about you (and all else) post your "Top 5 Greatest Qb's Ever "..... btw: line4line, game4game, player4player, etc.,,,, There has none that has come close to "Montana".. ok, except maybe for Peyton Manning and Tom Brady...second, Troy Aikman ranks higher then Brett Favre.. But that's just my opinion

  • Comment removed

  • OK look at the stats:

Marino-in the league for 16 years, threw for 61,361 yards and 420 TD's

Montana-in the league for 15 years, threw for 40,551 yards and 273 TD's

    Marino threw 252 INT's and Montana 139.

The reason marino has so many INT's is because all miami could do was throw coz they had no running game.

Look at the stats Montana fans, look at the stats and then decide the best qb ever to play the game

  • @madman25ish This is all you have proven

    Greatest Ever:

    Passing Yards:Marino

    Passing Tds:Marino

    Interceptions:Montana

    SB Wins:Montana

    Montana>Marino

  • @bigbadosker Lol since when is it good to have the most interceptions!? You just pretty much said that Marino is better then Montana! But you're mistaken on the Passing yds and TD's... Brett Favre broke those records... including the most Interceptions. All Montana has is SB rings which is impressive but a SB isn't just won with a QB, it's won with a team. Greatest team at that time was the 49ers no doubt. Greatest QB? Questionable. There is no "official" best QB because everyone is significant.

  • @GOllumboy101 My point was that Montana had FAR FEWER interceptions than Marino. Montana 4 sb rings. Marino=0. Montana beat Marinos team in THE SUPERBOWL. How are you going to defend that? Montana is greatest modern day Qb. Hands down.

  • @bigbadosker Superbowl wins don't come from the quarterback, they come from a team.

Who was on Marino's team- nobody nearly as good as what Montana had.

    So SB wins:49ers, not Montana

    Marino>Montana

  • @madman25ish HAHA yeah your right they don't come from a quarterback that's why Marino has 0. Who one the SB between Montana and Marino? Oh yeah that's right Montana. Because he always played like a true Champion in the big game. Best SB stats by any qb ever and that 4 runs at it. Montana>Marino. Always has been and always will be.

  • @bigbadosker So by your logic Bradshaw is the 2nd best ever? See my comment about Montana from a month ago and chew on it. I grew up in the Bay Area and saw almost every game Montana played. A top 10 QB? Certainly. Overrated? Certainly.

  • @filthyswit Ok lets make it simple. If your definition of "Greatest" is best stats then yes indeed Marino>Montana. If your definition includes stats+championships then by 4 to 0 Montana>Marino.

I'm willing to bet this exciting 2011 season that Marino would give up some of those stats for 4 SB Rings.

  • @filthyswit Trying to prove "Greatest" is a lesson in futility. I try to look at it in eras. I do believe Montana to be the Greatest Modern Day QB because he almost always came up big in the "Big" Game and he is 4-0 in the biggest game on earth.

  • @bigbadosker "They don't come from quarterbacks and that's why Marino has 0."

So your just emphasising my point. Marino had no defence and thats why Montana won the superbowl.

49ers allowed16 points. Dolphins allowed 38. Again, due to the fact that they had NO defence.

Oh, and how many records does Montana hold? Passing yards, touchdowns etc

  • @madman25ish That was sarcasm smart guy. You forget Marino had one of the top rated Recieving duos in the Mark Brothers for years. Your argument is invalid. Montana one two without Jerry Rice even being on the team.

  • @bigbadosker Indeed. In fact, Montana won 2 Super bowls without the likes of Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Brent Jones, or Tom Rathman; the first without Roger Craig. It's always strange how this is always forgotten while Marino's dynamic duo receiving core during the 1980's is equally forgotten.

  • @Mechanized0 This is always a funny argument to me. "Montana is so great because he played with nobodies and won against the Bengals." Well WHO did the Bengals have? Without consulting Google, can anyone actually name 3 or 4 players on that Bengals team? I can because I'm a football freak and grew up in the Bay Area.

Was it Montana who stopped the Bengals fullback on 4th and 1 to prevent a 49ers loss?

  • @filthyswit The point is not that the Bengals owned a start-studded cast but rather to dispel that notion that Montana would never have achieved any Super Bowl victories without the likes of Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Brent Jones, and Tom Rathman. With great quarterbacks will typically see impressive statistics with a great offensive supporting cast. However, they are not necessarily required to achieve victory in the ultimate contest.

  • @filthyswit What's your point? They still would have had a chance to come back and win the game if they scored there. That does nothing to diminish the legacy of Montana either. He is a legend. Alwasys has been and always will be.

  • @madman25ish No all those SB wins are more Montana's then his team. Montana and Rice were the reason that team ever did anything! If you look at the stats of the team EVERYTHING! was from Montana and Rice. Just like Colts with Manning and Pats with Brady

  • @unlimitedsupra Yeah Montana AND Rice.

Who did Marino have? 2 5'9 receivers and a defence put together with smoke and mirrors.

But you look at Manning, he had Harrison.

You look at Brady, he had Moss.

    Marino had a nobody

  • @madman25ish Marino had two of the best receivers in the league in the Marks bros in the eighties. Have you ever bothered to look at their stats. Manning won one sb with Harrison and Brady lost the only sb he and Moss got to.

Marinos passer rating in his 18 playoff appearances is 77.1. He only won 8 playoff games his whole career.

Joe montanas Passer rating in 23 playoff games is 95.6 and he lost only 7 of those games. Want more statistics? Just ask.

  • @bigbadosker How many times?! DEFENCE!!! Yes my receiver "facts" look kinda down now but I also mentioned defence. I'm spitballin' here but on average, miami's D gave up 21 points per game. San Fran's gave up 14... Defence wins you championships, enough said...

  • @madman25ish Ummmm Brady did NOT have Moss!!! He had 2nd-rate receivers when he won 3 SB's. That's why he may be better than Elway/ may be equal to or better than Montana- if he wins another SB. Btw, protection is EVERYTHING!! Brady's has been suspect, Manning's has always been incredible. Otherwise he's a huge loser/ choke-artist.

  • @kickyerass I forgot about that. I've not been a fan of football long (SB 41 was when I started whatching football). Yeah, Brady didn't have Moss for too long. And you are true about protection. Manning had the time to look down the field. You watch Marino's highlights, you can see he only has about 2-4 seconds to throw the ball.

  • @madman25ish I watched the 1st SB. Dad told bro and I to sit down for this; it'll be historic. Ummm.. 4 seconds is quite a long time dude. I don't think Marino had that much time. On Brady's better teams he had time, some have failed him badly- like the other night in Detroit. He was crap too; maybe because of it, maybe an off night, maybe they're messin' w/ us??

  • @kickyerass That is what I was trying to get across. Marino's O-Line couldn't hold their blocks as well as Peyton's, Brady's and Montana's. Point is, Marino had less time but still managed to throw tons of TDs and complete lots of passes. It's very difficult to do that whilst under pressure.

  • @madman25ish Yep. I'm with ya. But he still wasn't as great as Montana, Elway, Brady, or Unitas- in my book. And Favre in his prime, and Fouts. I got him in the top ten though.. But Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees are nipping at his heels too.. I'm more about gettin' 'er done- in the end. Not that Fouts ever got to the big show.. Elway got there 5 friggin' times.

  • @unlimitedsupra Montana won two super bowls WITHOUT Rice. What are you talking about?

  • @bigbadosker point is MONTANA is the key to the SB's

  • @madman25ish Okay then.... Montana... by a mile.

  • Marino had no running game montana's teams did hell he had all he needed Marino was never given that luxury of have great players all around Marino made his team thats why he is the greatest btw count all the records

  • Are you crazy?!?!?! Montana is and always will be the best. Brady should be on that list as well and don't forget Unitas. Or Bradshaw

  • Real easy...Count the rings on Montana´s fingers and the rings on Favre´s and Marino´s fingers!!!! Joe´s the best!

Bradshaw gotta be on any list!

  • @darthsaya The amount of championships isn't the only thing that counts you imbecile. If that were the only thing that counted, Otto Graham would be the best (4 time aafc champion, 3 time NFL champion, not to mention taking the browns to the respective league's championship game EVERY year that he played)

  • @gamelvr1 Championships dont matter? wtf r u talking about you stupid fuck??? I dont give a fuck about teams and games from 70 years ago when there were like 5 teams in the league you dumb fuck! In your world you might be the best if you lose superbowls, not in real life fuckhead! You should change your user name to cocklvr fuckin assshole!!!! Otto Graham... what a fucking joke!!!

  • @darthsaya I never said that championships didn't matter you retard. The point is that it isn't the only thing that counts you brainless retard. Actually read my comment. I never said they didn't count. There's never been only 5 teams in the league you retard. The superbowl has only been around for 45 years you retard. That only accounts for half of the NFL's history. The superbowl era isn't the only thing that counts you retard. I never said that loosing superbowls made you the best.

  • @gamelvr1 Dude.....you forgot to say "you retard" at the end of your statement.

  • @darthsaya Look at Joe Namath or Trent Dilfer for example. Both won superbowls where as qbs like Marino, Tarkenten, or Moon never did. Does that mean that they're better. Heck no. Both were inferior overall qbs. Actually try paying attention you brainless moron. No intelligent person would only count the modern era as the only thing that existed.

  • @gamelvr1 In your book losing superbowls might be good in the real world it just shows how much of a fuckin idiot you are. The game is played to WIN no t be good while losing you fuckin moron! A qb who takes his team to victory is better and more of winner than a qb that throws a lot of td´s but cant win the important game. If it was for stupid fucks like you there would be no superbowl. You are such a fuckin clown hahahah keep trying to defend what cannot be defended. Oh yeah and...FUCK YOU!!!

  • @darthsaya I never said that loosing the superbowl was a good thing you retard. The point is that amount of superbowls a qb has won isn't the sole determining factor you retard. Let me guess, you think Qbs like Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon are better then Dan Marino, Warren Moon, and Fran Tarkenten because they've won a superbowl. There are a lot of factors that determine how good a player is. No intelligent person could think the amount of championships was the only factor.

  • Joe is number 1. Marino never won a superbowl and got his butt whipped by Joe

  • @ieast007 Superbowls are the only determining factor you retard.

  • You only picked quarterbacks from one era. They are all good but there are definitely some other awesome QB's.

  • funny how marino never won shit good old joe took care of business. Shitty video man

  • Ha ha ha !!! Marino w/ how many championships again. For that matter you have to throw in Fouts and Moon.
