the best way if u host u need to be human if u joining hollow or human then all the the requirments find a corner place your souls sign the other guy taps squer until he summond or if it fails quit to main menu then start then do it again most of the time this works

I think this game doesn't have any servers; it may be peer-to-peer. The game probably cycles in several hosted matches every few minutes, and that's why you sometimes don't see friends. if you wait long enough (as long as you meet the level requirements), your friend's souls sign will probably eventually be cycled into your world and you'll be able to summon them. Just have them hide the soul sign somewhere so that random people can't summon them while you wait.

EDIT: When I said 'no servers' I meant 'no official servers'. The top-rated guy is probably correct, but the 'server' he refers to is most likely the privately hosted 360 game that his friend is in, if that makes sense. :)

Simply if you keep dropping your summon soap stone it goes into different servers.

Everything you said was correct but you do not need to restart your console or sign out and sign in or dashboard. Simply you or your friend depends who wants to get summoned.. basically you keep dropping your soapstone counting to 5 seconds eventually your friend WILL see it and say i see it and summon you. the 5 seconds is enough for your friend to react to say stop i see it. should take 5-10 mins level and body form still required as well as the boss in that area still alive in hosts world.

Great video Dinky, awesome outtakes sir! Also, a note to others who may have some frustration with inviting friends into your own game. Try also to invite with a bonfire in close vicinity to your blue invitation signs and if it doesn't appear to your buddy both of you reset at the bonfire and try again. I'd say wait about 3-5 min at most, and its worked already for 2 friends.

dana i think you should have went more indepth about the different servers, this being the biggest step back from demon's souls, it can take forever to get lucky enough to land in the same server as your friend. it really needs to be addressed by From.

in Demon's souls i could just lay down the sign and a friend could find me instantly, in dark souls i don't even bother it's way to random. ):
