@100montecarloss - you realize they never put a 454 in any camaro, right? The biggest factory motor in a 2nd gen is still the 396 (402ci). Block is externally the same as a 454, so you could bolt one in however.

Hey, I own an '80 Camaro, but dont bash on the Cobra. My dad has an 03 Cobra and I cant come close to beating him. We both raced a few weeks back and left me with a 16.6 and he got a 12.2 on the quarter mile. And you can call Ford crap all you (most are), but Ford made damn sure the Cobra was quality. They're built to compete with Corvette, which they do.

Your kidding, right? My Cobra has a Kenne Bell supercharger that was pushing over 595 rwhp/ 605 rwtq @ 18 psi on STOCK INTERNALS. It now runs 20 psi. I dont know the numbers for that yet, but its about 25 rwhp more. I'll be upgrading to 22 psi very soon, still using the stock internals. Its an EXTREMELY well built car from the factory. Reasearch the 03/04 Cobras.

What gives you the idea they werent built well? The have a better built motor than the Corvette C5 Z06.

And this is why I got the car. 1) Its dyno proven to be 430 HP/TQ (390 is underrated). 2) A pulley, exhaust, tune, and CAI/K&N (less than $1K) will put me well over 500 HP/TQ. 3) They're respected by REAL racers who know a little something about cars, unlike you. 4) It can be used as a family car, unlike the Vette. 5) It was built with forged internals that can easily handle 750 HP. The Z06 Vettes cant even do that without a fully rebuilt bottom. 6) Bolting on another S/C is a very simple job.

great camaro. it sound kinda high pitched. maybe that what you want, but if you want a deeper stronger sound you might want to try some Flowmaster Super 44 Mufflers or on the extreme side you could just remove the mufflers all together for that straight through racing fell.
