good review! hell or high water and thief in the night are probably the best songs.. its weird how genes songs in the 80s are some of kiss' best even if it sounds like he wrote them in a few minutes
This is one of my fav KISS albums. It was the first one I brought after loving the title track so much! It is a much better album than Dynasty and Animalize. I love the title track, Reason To Live, I'll Fight Hell To Hold You, Turn on the Night, Theif in the Night! I even like Bang Bang You!

@jbarbou3 Well this isn't even their worst album. I'd much rather listen to this crap than H.I.T.S. The problem with this album is that Gene's songs are better than Paul's, which had never happened before or since in my opinion. Too much keyboard throughout and cheesy lyrics made me not like it.
@Orangeman334 eh i really liked shade you love me to hate you. king of hearts was my personol favorite, i think forever got over played and still is. i think reason to live is a better i gues not ballad but lower tempo song. shade also brought us rise to it which led to the one more time for the kids make up session with gene and paul. Was a big fan of that song. I still prefer crazy nights over shade
@Orangeman334 i loved the 80's i guess for the more modern sound. I loved love gun and destroyer and alot of the kissco but the first three had that older 70's sound like they were using cheap amps with no distortion pedals.
@Orangeman334 I never really could understand when fans of vinyl pressings talked about the softer sound of vinyl. Listening to this album clears that up! The album has a good, clean sound but it's way too trebled much the same as Vinnie Vincent's tragic "INVASION" album. I DO LOVE BOTH ALBUMS very much.
Unlike most, I don't mind alot of their later stuff...In fact, Crazy Nights was one of the first Kiss albums I bought (that, Lick It Up and their debut album)
The album only holds 4 songs i listen to mostly,Crazy Crazy Nights,Fight Hell To Hold You,Turn On The Night and Reason To Live...Nice video,but the resolution of the live video's looks kinda stretched out.And i agree,When Your Walls Come Down really is one of the worst kiss songs.
I love nearly all songs from this album - it is one of my Top 5 KISS Albums!

i have to disagree. Granted i was 10 when this album came out but this album is what absoloutley solidified me as a member of the army. I love it.

it's pop rock not metal in my opinion. Kiss coudn't have pulled this kind of music off in the 80's if they still wore the makeup and costumes.
