@Elinious Not ALL people in the world speak/understand English the way English speaking people do, especially if English is not their first language. There are different accents and shit. Some people are just mumbling or eating their words when they speak and they don't pronounce words as it should be. So it's totally understandable that some hardly catch what this old guy were saying. Also, other people's sense of hearing is not as sharp as yours.

Even if a person's first language is English, it doesn't mean all of them can easily understand the rest of the accents. The pronunciation, sound and the delivery of words vary from different English speaking countries. Not to mention, if the person is very old, has an illness like Parkinson's, or even just lisp it would be harder to catch up for some.
