wonderful tone =) i've the same amp! I recently changed all valves with 2 el34 sovtek in power amp section, 2 mullard + 2 tungsol in the pre. Now sounds incredibly sweet!

@GeoStratocaster It's a single coil fender Custom shop 54 neck pickup.

I only use Laney's distortion from the DRIVE channel, and some effects from G-Major

The only backdraw with this strat is the 7,5 radius of the neck, which has medium action, a common spec of the reissues.But the sound is superb!!

Hi, are all foto flames 7.5 radius? Do any frets "fret out"? When you bend really high?

Is the neck thin, medium, thick, super thick?

@stubaru If i try to set for a low action, frets 12 and 13 start to fret out on full bends .

It's a thick neck that didn't suit my tastes..

But there is no comparison to a flat modern neck, like the peavey wolfgang for example!!

It's not a shredders guitar with 7,5 radius. It;s more like an all around type guitar.

The american strat has a greater neck. Thinner, more comfortable, greater feel, but again not for shredding.

Also keep in mind that the Laney has a Celestion Heritage speaker.A major improvement.

In what way is it an improvement? How would you say did the sound change with the new speaker? Less Mids or Highs? More Bass?

@intermediate007 More headroom (volume), crystal clear highs , but most of all now it has the punch (attack) that was missing from the original.

@hillysats Hum is common with single coils, but the 54's are SUPERB PICKUPS!!

They have a lot of sparcle, crystal clear when you want it, and they respond to volume changes in a beautifull way.

Nice clear tone. japan made but even compared to mexico made and american statdard it still sounds perfect.
