Hi, I want to explain why she is not expressing so much expressions in this music video.
The dead loved one has been dead for quite a while and thus it is not a surprise that she is not so sad. The Alice like world is actually her dream and the dead loved one appears as a butterfly in her dream to accompany her a while and then later appeared as her loved one in front of her to give her the ring. He is telling her that he is moving on to another stage.
Hi, Sam and Marthina. You all mentioned in the video about the butterfly and wondered whey she is playing with a butterfly, well actually the butterfly represents her dead husband/boyfriend. Its kinda of an asian thing as we kinda believe that people we loved that have died come back as moths and butterflies.
At 2:20, she finally cried after she saw her dead loved one which wore blue (hinting that he is the butterfly). The guy took his ring and gave it her to tell her that he is moving on.

Okay, look haters of this review. I'm not saying that Park Bom has a plastic face but i do have to agree. If you DO ACTUALLY WATCH this vid, her facial expression doesn't change and ANY person could see that. This is a REVIEW of the video, not a place where you can expect ALL positive remarks. Hi there! I just finished watching this video, as well as Park Bom's, and thought I'd clear up your confusion regarding the butterfly. In Asian cultures, the butterfly represents the soul, yours or a loved one's. It also symbolizes love, especially when it's still new and giddy, like flitting butterflies. Someone else may have already told you this, but I didn't read all of the comments. So now you know.....the rest of the story.
@Hehekayy She only had eye surgery. That is not the reason she had surgery though. The reason she didn't go solo is because when she's nervous her face swells due to her disease so they put her in 2NE1 where she is comfortable :)

Look here:
- She has swollen lymph nodes (80-100% true as she said it herself on 2NE1TV and was filmed several times using ice pack to prevent it from swelling more)
- She had plastic surgery? (It does look like she had but no one, except park Bom herself, should conclude that she did it cos you're not even her, what do you know?!)
All this lymph node crap. If she can't act, they should find someone who can act and shove her in there instead. For me, a lot of it was awkward. Maybe that's why they showed her clothes so much.
I agree with so many of the previous butterfly comments. It is the first thing I thought when I saw the butterfly. It "turned" into her husband. You don't see both butterfly and her husband on the screen together, so it has to be the same person/spirit/something. Also, they made both the butterfly and her husband's shirt blue, but I guess that was not a big enough hint :-(

The biggest thing though is so what if she had surgery? Trust me, just bc you have surgery doesn't always make you hot. To Bom's credit, the original canvas needs to have some potential for it to work.

Park Bom never got surgery, lol. The reason why her face looks so stiff is because she suffers lymph nodes disease in her cheeks, so I can't blame her if she does the same face in every shot. I thought that park bom interpreted the emotion perfectly through her acting. She's showing that she should still smile throughout sadness. I actually cried watching her mv. It was pure and heartfelt. She just showed what she felt. If she was overly extravagant in her acting, I think it wouldn't be as convincing and sincere. I know this video is just for laughs but I love park bom and was SLIGHTLY insulted by this, no offense...this is just my opinion.
I don't think the point of the music video is supposed to be devastating. Like she's already devastated in the beginning but as the title shows (don't cry) The husband which i don't think is supposed to be her husband but more her boy friend or fiance is telling her not to be sad but be happy ^u^ so it's not supposed to be devastating but like the reborn feeling of learning to be happy even though you lost someone :D
I think it is the director's fault because if he wanted her to show emotion, he definitely wouldn't have missed her emotionless face and let that take pass.

she expresses with her eyes...I didn't see anything wrong with her acting...and also throughout the rest of the music video her bangs cover up her eyebrows lol...eyebrows help sometimes to express emotion. Anyway, the butterfly, like someone stated could represent the dead "husband" butterflies, dead people etc. it all goes hand in hand.

the song itself was never one of those serious love hurt situation to begin with.. the tone of the song and the melodies of the song feels very lite. the mv had lots of gloomy feelings to it cuz of the greyish colors but she was never serious and rather looked accepting the end of the relationship and just being satisfied reminiscing.. knowing the language and the culture can help much better..
and of course there are lots of differences when it comes to LOVE in korean culture..so can be described and meant differently than other cultures.. the general issues are similar but detaily different.. please acknowledge this :D
to begin this kind of kpop reviews, please learn the language and fully understand the situation.. or at least dont just go to the conclusion which u think it is.. u guys are doing great job but totally not understanding the language.. and of course if u dont know what really is being said in the song u would never have any good opinions on the story.. obviously cuz u dont understand the language, ur opinions on the story can make poeple mad.. how u know if it was her husband? its her fantasies

Park Bom never got surgery, lol. The reason why her face looks so stiff is because she suffers lymph nodes disease in her cheeks, so I can't blame her if she does the same face in every shot. Plus the song is called "Don't Cry" so maybe that's why she is smiling the whole time. She is trying not to cry. lol.

I thought that park bom interpreted the emotion perfectly through her acting. She's showing that she should still smile throughout sadness. I actually cried watching her mv. It was pure and heartfelt. She just showed what she felt. If she was overly extravagant in her acting, I think it wouldn't be as convincing and sincere. I know this video is just for laughs but I love park bom and was SLIGHTLY insulted by this, no offense...this is just my opinion.

I don't think the point of the music video is supposed to be devastating. Like she's already devastated in the beginning but as the title shows (don't cry) The husband which i don't think is supposed to be her husband but more her boy friend or fiance is telling her not to be sad but be happy ^u^ so it's not supposed to be devastating but like the reborn feeling of learning to be happy even though you lost someone :D

the song itself was never one of those serious love hurt situation to begin with.. the tone of the song and the melodies of the song feels very lite. the mv had lots of gloomy feelings to it cuz of the greyish colors but she was never serious and rather looked accepting the end of the relationship and just being satisfied reminiscing.. knowing the language and the culture can help much better..

i thought in the song they were just a couple who found an end to their relationship and Bom seemed to just go back in memories..cuz in the song she says "dont cry because we might meet again after life and if we do we will never break" and in the music video when she goes into this wonder world and the butterfly thing are maybe to decribe how gloomy she is reminiscing of her ex-lover and letting butterfly come and go could mean the time being of her getting back to reality.. the song says it..
