Bullshit. Ive got a Stoeger X10 and it kills pheasants within 20 meters outright everytime. The gun is only a cheap £120 one. As long as you hit the neck or head it'll be a clean kill. Rabbits and Pigeons are easier to kill because they lack the plumage of a pheasant (or turkey). Practice and then aim for the head and neck.

Yeah!, actually I've caught 7 pheasants just as they were in flight when I started hunting at age 16 with my dad. I had one shot right in the neck, it died instantly, and the rest in the body area. I have to say I had about 20 misses though. Was using iron sights on a cheap Daisy 880s.
