  • Are those stock wheels, or are they larger? Sick sound, but wondering if this exhaust would be legal in Alberta Canada, as a law for noise limit on vehicles was passed 2 years ago.

  • sounds like an RB-26 :p

  • That sounds amazing!

  • Regarding clutch abuse, I put car in sport mode (had been driving all day in regular), and put my foot down as if I were in regular mode, so yes RPMS were higher than normal and it wasn't the ideal launch. Point of video was to show sound changes with exhaust components, I am not nor do I claim to be a driving expert ;).

  • If you guys have driven a cayman, you would know that his start is perfect due to the feel of the clutch. How do I know? I own one. Great video. Fantastic sound!

  • @SeattleN8 Please enlighten me on "the feel of the clutch". I'm 17, drive an automatic '11 Mustang, and am interested in buying a used Porsche in the future.

  • @SleepingWithKellin The clutch is very nice on later model porsches, especially the cayman s. It's very easy to drive it

  • Real nice sounding car....A lot of clutch slipping on take off though...I bet those suckers are spendy.. I love borla exhaust!

  • You really need to learn how to drive.... sweet car though

  • You need a longer tunnel bro...

  • I ike the sound when it's High RPM, but not low RPM

  • nice plate... grey alligator :D like it!

  • Man, you're knackering the clutch on that car. Great sound, though! Just saying ... clutches aren't exactly cheap, mate.

  • congrats on the sound man, its somethin else, amazing

  • Dyno is completed, ~295whp / ~350bhp with mods shown in video. Visit Planet-9 forums to see the charts, search for thread title "Borla Exhaust gets Fabspeed Headers"

  • @FrozenFears how much power did you get from just the exhaust and headers? cause i saw you put 350 with mods in the video but under the comments i read something about ecu and stuff, just wondering, car sounds great

  • @jerruno93 ECU and intake were installed together, worth about 10-15hp, headers and exhaust added 30-35hp

  • What does that say about me when I read the title and think "wow! what does that sound like?!"...cool vid. thanks for uploading.

  • From 2:12 -2:15 the sound is INTOXICATING. What a difference those headers made.

  • Did you also use the Softronics ECU? I think that's what you meant. I was undecided between that one and the GIAC tune. I like the fact the Softronics one can be returned to stock with the original file at any time.

  • @bavariamotorist

Yes, both ECU tune and the race plenum are from Softronic.

  • Wow! This is a great video. First, you really got on it at idle so we could actually hear the sound. Seems simple, but many video-makers are too scared to do this.

Secondly, I love the comparison between the Borla with and without the Fabspeed. This is going a long way to convince me I should go this route instead of FVD (M&M) route.

Have you dynoed? I'm sure you haven't, but it's interesting to see if there are any performance gains to be had.

  • @bavariamotorist

    Thanks,

No dyno yet for the headers, but there will be in the next few months. I have been putting car on dyno after each mod.

Before headers the car was making ~335bhp up from the baseline of ~305bhp, these gains from the Borla exhaust, Softronics Race Plenum and ECU tune.

  • Damn man, nice video. Im really diggin' the sound you got on this cayman. Is that all you got on there is the Borla exhaust and Fabspeed headers?

  • @DJJA9119 Thanks, yes just a full race exhaust system, no catalytic converters. I do have an aftermarket intake plenum, but I doubt that adds any to the sound.
