This is awesome! I have been wanting to make one of these for a long time but couldnt get the exact root that they were telling me because i am not around those parts were it is grown, but now seeing what you have done, I am so doing this!! Thank You for Your post!!
hey man this is really cool, i admire your creativity and willingness to experiment! of course its expected to lose sound quality, but it is made up for in compact-ness and the ability to change it however you like. i will be making one of these myself =D
@Aistadar Thanks for the kind words. There's something about this particular one that keeps me from making the "quap" sound that's essential to wobbling, so you might not want to follow the specs of this model.
@HudsonBeach It's all 87 degree 30mm PVC joints with a 30-40mm adapter on the end that allows for the big fat bell on the end, which is made of whatever I could find that fits - I can't remember the exact measurements of that one.
I suggest using 40 mm, though. Even though it's not as portable you'll get a more harmonic horn note.
What does "87 degree" refer to? You just go in and ask for "them" that way? How long of a pipe do you buy to cut up? How wide is the pipe? Can you please give a list of all of the pieces and how many of each one? :) Do you glue it together? I have no idea where to even begin to look for a "big fat bell" thingy! lol Is it called something or what is it "supposed to be used for?
This is cool enough and cheap enough... NOT to make!!! lol
@BirdOfParadise777 Don't panic! 87 degree refers to the angle of the joint. If you go to a hardware store, there should be a bunch of PVC joints somewhere near the long tubes. If you look around, you'll find that there are joints that can connect to each other without adapters. Connect them into a chain, and BOOM! Didgeridoo. You'll probably find different pieces from what I had, but that's fine - experiment and have fun!
@acidfriend47 That's true. You could get one with more of an S-curve shape for half the price, or just one long piece of PVC for 1/8th the price. Then again, we are talking about parts that are 65 cents each. I paid about $15 for a didgeridoo that can fit in my backpack and play any tone between high and low Ab, which is a pretty good deal.

doc412allghny 6 months ago
@doc412allghny I've tried rubber stoppers and even duct tape. In the end, I recommend beeswax. You can find it at just about any art store.

@BirdOfParadise777 The bell amplifies the bass tones.

Not bad. I've been planning on making one like that but I think its way more expensive than getting a long one.
