  • いいなぁ、すっごい好きです。

  • @hiromitsu0321 : It was like that when I was there. 2005 to 2007. Now you need to find it out yourself if it has changed.

  • wish i could go study there.... sigh

  • What EVERY art school admissions panel is looking for? DRAWINGS. Figurative, perspective, expressionistic, every imaginable type! See Nicolaides' "Natural Way to Draw" and spend a few months studying the techniques. Guaranteed admission if you can draw well. No matter where you want to go to school, the faculty will cater to those students who are dedicated enough to DRAW DRAW DRAW! Take it to the bank.

  • @batshytmonitor And yet, ironically, if you know how to draw well (and extremely few do), what would be the point of going to art school?

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone there's always new levels. You witness new perspectives. also you can learn alot of quick tricks from a classroom setting like this.

  • How many art schools worth to mention are in the United States ?

  • I like the cast hall, but didn't notice if you have a 'winged victory'?

  • @BeautyandNoodle I didn't recall if there was any.

  • I will be applying here in February, any suggestions on what they look for in a good portfolio? I am also attending the open house in november!

  • @07oogenesis When I applied, I just sent my representational painting images and a statement about what I want to do. However, I heard that the school is changing. You probably want to ask the current students.

  • @07oogenesis "any suggestions on what they look for in a good portfolio" Individuality .

  • @07oogenesis It might have changed a lot after I left. When I graduated on 2007, it was changing towards a more contemporary school like the rest. However, comparing to other schools, it was still more traditional. Therefore a portfolio with good traditional art skills may still work, I hope.

  • @ngwoonlam How good did they prepare you for life after NYAA? What are you doing now, if you don't mind me asking?

  • @TheArtofFollowing Not much about career planning. More about academic knowledge. However, I don't know so much about the school after so many years.

  • bloody fuck those guys are fucking amazing #! especially liked the reconstructiion of the old masters in the museum

  • nice work - inspirational : D

  • o, i'm so jealous, my old school sucks big time. glad i quit.

  • Amaizing, i love Art!

  • Is this kinda like CalArts?

    (in Valencia)

I went there for a bit, pretty awesome.

  • I don't know about CalArts.

But NYAA is about tranditional figurative art skill training.

  • CalArts summer program called "CSSSA" is a productive month of full courses of art classes. Kind of like regular college, but for the "gifted" I'd guess some would say. Very hard to get into. I guess I was just lucky. Amazing teachers also, you should give it a look, amazing stuff.

  • @TylerSmythe ART CENTER in Pasadena is the only place in America for a serious Art education. Bar none.

  • for artists in poor countries, this is only a dream :( like me.

  • Not so hard. It is easier to get in but harder to get out. 2nd semester and 2nd year, you will see quite a few drop-outs.

    Take care.

  • i would love to be part of this academy

but im afraid to meet real artistsss with some powerful levels on art

how hard it is to get in?

do i need an impecable porfolio?

  • great music... thievery

  • looks interesting

  • This school provides an exceptional level of instruction. I hope to apply for the MFA program in January. Do you know how I can get in touch with a former student from the NYAA? I want to know about their admissions criteria and how difficult it is to get in. Thanks!

  • Getting in, isn't that difficult. Like many schools, they've pushed the numbers up in order to bring in more money...I think you'll be surprised how bad some students are. Obviously, the video shows the better student/work. Their scholarships are limited in number and small so getting one may be difficult.

  • My advice: Visit the school during the end of the year critiques (just before the end of the year show) they last about a week (don't visit the last day, give yourself 2 to 3 days), you'll be able to meet students (see work and hear various opinions) and hear faculty opinions during the critiques - sometimes it gets pretty heated. Best.

  • Good ! I'm a Dutch Artist from Amsterdam
