  • I LOVE this soup. I eat at least a bowl every other day. After the first time i decided to make it with chicken stock instead of water. It filled in the "something is missing" feeling. It added a great dimention to the broth. Also I tried it with thicker pieces of stew meat and added cabbage in the final cooking. It was Awsome. Thank you so much for this recipie

  • It's very delicious! I think I can make it ^^

  • Korean women have a beautiful accent when they speak english... too bad there isn't very many single korean women where i live.

  • you're so lucky you enjoy cooking. i hate cooking, and i worry for my future husband

  • @zeeet

no worries.. then your husband will be a good cook and cook delicious food for you. hehe

  • Ehh the music really sounded like music in boys before flower :O LOL I would love to taste the soup but I am not good at cooking so my mom won't let me use the kitchen... =[

  • omg this looks soo good! cant wait to try it!

  • There's a spicy beef soup, that I eat from time to time, which usually has just small, thin pieces of meat, mushrooms, and slices of some kind of root vegetable that I initially thought was potato. I always forget the name of the soup, but I love it and would love to be able to cook it at home. Does this soup I describe sound familiar? The broth is an orange-brown color. This soup I describe does not have bean sprouts.

  • @muybridge54

your soup is spicy ?? there are many different kinds of korean soup.. so.. with your describing..it's hard to guess exact one.. sorry.. oops.. your soup is not same with the soup in this video ??

  • YukGaeJang is my favorite!

  • Your cooking videos inspire me to make some korean food. It was torture to watch them in college, because I was too far away from any asian store to buy the ingredients. Now that I am home, I look forward to trying the recipes. thanks a ton!

  • @Pieisforme

wow.. enjoy your korean food and have a great time with your family at home. :) thanks

  • please introduce me to a handsome korean guy who can cook!!!! :)

  • @outtah

haha.. 3 things.. handsome.. korean guy..and can cook.. oops..

  • Found all the korean ingredients i needed at Hyun Dai asian grocery in Antioch TN. Because I was short on time I used the prepared fernbrake in the refrigerated section. My dish turned out great!!!! I cut the soup soy to 2tbs and the sea salt to 1/4 tsp because I am salt sensitive-I could't tell any difference

  • Hi Aeri, thanks for uploading this I wish I could taste Korean Beef Soup sooooo much! After watching Shining Inheritance, I just had to come see how it is made :) It looks so delicious!

  • I love this soup !!!!!

  • i need a korean woman in my life. would you marry me?

  • @jvboy88

^^ sorry.. I'm already married..but I know you can meet a better Korean woman. thanks :)

  • I'm a vegetarian and slid off the horse. This soup kept me coming back. It's excellent!!!!!!

  • Authentic Korean taste! Thanks so much! My mum won't teach me this recipe~~ xDD

  • oooh this looks sooo YUMMYYYY...o(*Q*)o

I'm hungry again and I ate just two minutes ago xDD

  • Excuse....

Is Taro a very Meaty Mushroom?

Are they as big in size as Portobello?

    Are they native in Korea?

I love your show and your recipes!

  • @LegendaryGoldDragon I think Taro is a kind of root. They are native to Asia in general and not just Korea, and is the size of a Yam from the supermarkets i go to.

  • @Lionx

    Gam Sap Me Dah Lionx

  • i really like the taste of Fernbrakes, but i feel like every time i boil them they become really soft a mushy, is this supposed to happen and i just really hate the texture? or am i doing something wrong? lol

  • @17thCenturyLlama

maybe you bought.. already soaked ones ?? so you overcooked ?? because if you buy dried ones.. it takes time to make it soft...

  • I made this today but the next time I make it I will follow your recipe. I didn't let the ingredients sit for 20 minutes after coating in the sauce nor did I fry it for 5 minutes before adding the broth. I think doing this will make the soup taste even better! :) TY for your video.

  • just finished making it..and the taste is really something else!! TQ aeriskitchen!!

  • Looks very good, what is red pepper pwoder ? is that the same as chili powder ?

  • @gaelicscots

there are different types of pepper powder and chilli powder.. so hard to tell which one you mean.. if you can get something from Korean grocery store.. you will be sure to use right one..

  • @gaelicscots its not the same I thought they were they same you can go to h-mart web page and buy a pound of it for around $5 you may wonder why you would want a pound but they sell it in bulk for kimchi and almost every spicy dish has some in it.

  • Hi. Enjoyed the video and recipe. Looks really good.

  • kookiefookie60 has a crush.. :D

oh.. and just visited the site... I now understand what Kookiefookie60 is talking :(

  • Looks yummy!

  • i wanna marry her.

  • I know some restaurants add noodles to the stew. I forgot what type of noodles. I was wondering if you do want noodles, do you add them last.

  • @megatron74 mung bean noodles. or saifun at big grocery stores. boil them separately and not too long.

  • @whitemoca75

헤.. 감사합니다 ^^ 맛있게 드셨다니 기분좋아요.

  • Great video!

  • @JoyeuseXI

    lol

  • Thanks! I love this soup!

  • love this dish, its so healthy!

  • @Kronikwisdom

    I'm the one who cooked and recored the video. ^^;;

  • do you have any recipes that take common spices as there is'nt any asian stores where i live .

  • @WondrousJapanForever, @sarah01181225

..that's what u called destiny.. lmao!

u 2 must marry each other.. u can fill each others short comings.. peace peeps..

  • I tried this at a Korean restaurant the other week. Most Asian food I've had is rarely spicy even when I'm told it is but this one sure surprised me and my mouth. This is def. the way to go if you want spicy Asian food!

  • can i use chicken in stead of beef?_?

  • @DirugazeXD

    yes you can ^^

  • I hate either girl or boy cooking with long finger nails. it looks disgusting but job well done. i really like it.

  • everything is spicy with korea.

  • @KillerXoX

Not everything is spicy with Korea.. ^^

  • Your husband is a very lucky man. Tell him that another man said that : ) Not only you are obviously a good cook you are also very cute. And I love the way you speak English with your soft voice and your Korean accent.

  • @aeriskitchen

Please ban "wondrousjapanwhatever". His talks are bs.

  • @Sarah01181225

Oh.. sorry I didn't know what's going on here... @,@ I just read all the messages... I don't want arguing.. but I can feel how you felt too..(I felt @,@ ) I hope it's done now.. thanks..and sorry again..

  • One of my favorite Korean dish.

I know how to make it!!!!

Interesting that you boil the vegetables because I don't. I just put them in a big bowl until they become softened. And then I put "my own sauce" into those vegetables and leave them for a couple of hours.

And then, I add them together when the beef is ready.

People do in a different way, I guess.

  • @Sarah01181225

Do not eat too much garlic, which is too disturbing.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Garlic is one of the components that prevent people from having CANCER.

  • @Sarah01181225

Other people around you will suffer from cancer because of the disturbing smell.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Better than raw disgusting smelly "fishy" smell called SUSHI"

Gosh, Grilled them or Cook them before you eat raw fish and leave DOLPHINES AND WHALES ALONE.

And eat garlics which are good for your health.

  • @Sarah01181225

Maybe you have never eaten decent Sushi.

Decent Sushi served in authentic Japanese restaurants will never smell, though disgusting fake sushi served in fake Japanese restaurants run by Koreans may smell badly.

  • @WondrousJapanForever "Maybe you have never eaten decent Sushi"

    Maybe!!

A Japanese guy in OSAKA restaurant in IOWA got fined by USA health agency the other day because he licked A FROG while his brother was taking that video.

His dumb brother put it in facebook.

    Somebody uploaded here in Ytube.

RAW FISH + LICKED FROG = DISGUSTING.

    I told you to WASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Sarah01181225

    Taking what video?

I don't get what you are talking about.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Read American Newspaper.

    Or

try to find a video here in Ytube where your fellow chef was LICKING A FROG in his kitchen in JAPANESE OSAKA RESTAURANT IN IOWA.

  • @Sarah01181225

I tried but couldn't find no such a video.

You mean a Korean owner of a fake Japanese restaurant licked the human shit or something?

  • Comment removed

  • @Sarah01181225

I found the newspaper article. Do not lie. The chef who was fined is not a Japanese, and the owner of the restaurant is not either. The name of the Chef is Christopher Turla, and the name of the owner is Yidi When.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Too bad. But the damage has already been done.

People think a Japanese reataurant SUCKS!!

    Enjoy Korean Spicy Soup.

    Try my way. LOL

  • @Sarah01181225

I'm happy too when the reputations of fake Japanese restaurants are damaged, because they should be. Only those who deserve should go to authentic Japanese restaurants.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yeah, but the problem with Japanese restaurants is that not many authentic Japanese restaurants. See, this is the reason Japanese need to get out of Japan and open their own restaurants.

  • @WondrousJapanForever In some way, I have a little bit of mutual feeling how you feel about other race is running Japanese restaurant because I visited one Korean restaurant in a big mall in Edmonton thinking the owner is Korean.

But the owner is Chinese and ALL Korean foods he and his chefs were making were NASTY. You can't call them as Korean food. I felt disgusted. So I share with you in a way how you feel.

  • @Sarah01181225

I don't care if Chinese run Korean restaurants. The problem about fake Japanese restaurants is that despite the fact that you Koreans hate Japan so much, Koreans try to run Japanese restaurant just for money. If you lack the love for the culture, you can never cook good foods belonging to that culture. I wonder why Koreans won't run Korean restaurants if they are so patriotic.

  • @WondrousJapanForever You should be ashamed that no Japanese run Japanese restaurants in North America before you blame Chinese or Korean running Japanese restaurants.

A lot of Koreans run Korean restaurants too.

A lot of Chinese run Chinese restaurants too.

No Japanese run Japanese restaurants. (a few only) <------ THIS is YOUR problem, not mine.

So, can you say Japanese are not patriotic that they don't run Japanese restaurants??

Do the math and ENJOY THIS KOREAN SPICY BEEF SOUP.

  • @Sarah01181225

There are authentic Japanese restaurants in big cities in north America like Now York or Los Angels, thought they are too expensive for you to eat something there.

  • @WondrousJapanForever tsk tsk,,,, you don't even know what authentic Japanese restaurants are, do you?

There are 2000 Japanese restaurants in LA and 90% owners Korean and the fish are all imported from Busan, South Korea.

One of them actually opened a seminar when he visited Korea. That is how we came to know.

Now you are admitting those Korean owners or chinese owners running Japanese restaurants are authentic restaurants....

tsk tsk, yeah it is too damn expensive, not worthy to pay.

  • @Sarah01181225

Just tell them not to run fake Japanese restaurants.

Just tell them not to disguise as a Japanese.

Just tell them not to take advantage of Japan any more.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yeah, Americans know they are Koreans and owners are Koreans.

Americans are not dumb like you guys who sit their asses in Japan complaining non Japanese are running Japanese restaurants.

Dumb people! China or Korea will take over you guys in a pretty short time period in every area while you are sitting your asses there.

  • @Sarah01181225

An American friend of mine visited a fake japanese restaurant thinking that it was run by Japanese. He talked to the waiter in Japanese, then the Korean waiter got mad at him. You can't talk to the chef or waiter in Japanese language in fake Japanese restaurant? If they hate Japan to such extent that they got mad when talked in Japanese, they should stop running the fake Japanese restaurant.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yeah what a fake story you made up.

An American friend speaks Japanese in Japanese restaurant in USA?

AWESOME FAKE STORY, MAN, KEEP THAT UP!!!!

  • @Sarah01181225

I'm not lying. An american Youtuber who befriended me on YouTube told me the story in PM. Shall I show you his PM?

  • @WondrousJapanForever Enjoy Korean spicy beef soup.

    Good bye.

  • @Sarah01181225

Enjoy seeing how to make authentic Japanese foods.

    watch?v=nwg-xMIdk-Y

    watch?v=yuhu4QZJZyw

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yea say that under Japanese food video. (dumbo)

Enjoy Korean spicy beef soup. Indeed I am making one for supper tonight.

  • @Sarah01181225

I'm reluctant to taste any Korean foods after watching following videos.

    watch?v=j_GNNS1BN4Y

    watch?v=LueNDEGYaeM

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yes I don't taste Zapanese smelly food anyway. LOL

  • @Sarah01181225

Japanese foods are too expensive for you anyway.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yea Zapanese foods are too expensive like uh, $8 while Korean spicy beef soup is $13. LOL

  • @Sarah01181225

You can't eat anything in any authentic Japanese restaurant for $8. You need $100 or 200.

  • @WondrousJapanForever BULLSHIT. One Sushi cost $100???? Are you a nerd or a professional liar??? Your disgusting smelly food is not worth it.

  • @Sarah01181225

If you go to authentic Sushi restaurant in Tokyo, you need $200 or $300.

  • @WondrousJapanForever Yeah, ONE sushi cost $200.

    NERDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • @Sarah01181225

I mean one course of sushi.

  • @WondrousJapanForever One course of sushi COSTS $200 in Canada too, nerd, and we don't call it authentic food. Stupid.

  • @Sarah01181225

Fake sushi served in a fake Japanese restaurant in Canada don't deserve $200.

  • @Sarah01181225

May I ask you a question? Why do Koreans love spicy foods?

  • @WondrousJapanForever Some Koreans don't like spicy food. My father does not even taste if any food is spicy. I like spicy food. Spicy food, according to a doctor, has some component that prevents cancer too. Eat peper, he said.

Yeah fake sushi restaurants in Cadana, those fish, 50% come from Japan, so it is fake. That's for sure. lol

  • @Sarah01181225

Stupid. Fish come from the sea, not from Japan. What makes Sushi authentic is not where the fish come from but how they are cooked.

  • @Sarah01181225

I found something about YukGaeJang. You must use dog meat to make authentic YukGaeJang.

  • @WondrousJapanForever No I'd rather use WHALE OR DOLPHINE OR HORSE MEAT which Japanese eat to make authentic YukGaejang.

  • @Sarah01181225

I hope you will taste real sushi someday.

  • @WondrousJapanForever

Therefore, recommend your fellowmen to emigrate and then OPEN YOUR OWN RESTAURANT. Then I might visit there and TRY eating raw fish.

  • @WondrousJapanForever

Everybody can express own opinion..but it will be good that your opinion will not attack.. insult.. other's feeling or ideas.. I hope the argument is done now.. I don't want to block you..but I don't want to have negative comments on my video anymore either.. Please let's have peace.. thanks

  • adding potato starch noodles just before serving is also very very nice...

  • Hello, I do not have access to a korean market and my asian market does not sell fern brake. Is there something else I can substitute it with?

  • @PootieKrumpz

you can use oyster mushroom...or cooked spinach.. cabbage.. napa cabbage... some vegetables that have some texture as I mentioned..

  • ooo.. i LOVE green onion.. but recently i found out that i cant digest it well :( deliciousssss like always

  • I love Korean people, Friendly, Classy and Pleasant.

Thank you aeris, you are very kind i have never tried Korean food here in Dubai, but we have Restaurants would love to try them.

  • They don't sell beef brisket where we live. Why else can we use?

  • @QblueCelica

any kind of beef you use for soup or stew works.. I use london broil also.. thanks

  • just wondering where i can get red peper oil from?

is it like the chinese chilli oil?

  • @bumthology

Yes.. it's like chinese chilli oil.. you can get from a Korean or Asian grocery store.. or.. you can make it at home also.. just fry some red pepper powder in cooking oil.. that's hot pepper oil.. ^^

  • @aeriskitchen u are soo awsome. thanks for teaching me.

  • were can i get red peper oil from?

  • Hi, If I want to replace beef with chicken, do i replace with the same amount? Or more? Will the broth be less rich?

  • @ThNostalgia

If you use chicken with skin and bone.. it will give your broth good flavor.. just use same amount will fine.. ^^

  • @aeriskitchen Okay, thank you very much. (:

  • i love goin to Korean restaurants,i always leave hold my stomach, cuz im so dam full :D

  • I eat this soup at a local Korean restaurant and it is by far one of my favorites, is that just regular red pepper powder or do the Koreans have a special name for that? I was wondering what the vegetables were so now that I know I can make it myself. The eggs do add a nice heartiness to the soup. They serve it with pickled sprouts kim che and rice. Do you have a recipe for the pickled sprouts? Thank you for the video, this is a great soup!

  • @cletus2580

Hm... you want to know Korean name for the red pepper powder ? it is.. "GoChuGaRu" in korean... and sprout kimchi ?? oops.. i've never heard of it.. you mean.. yellow bean sprout side-dish ?? it has a little red pepper powder ?? or non spicy version ??

  • Thank you for the name of the red pepper powder, I will try to find that a ta local Korean store. No..no the sprouts were one side dish not spicy, they seemed to be blanched then marinated in some sort of mild vinegar, they seemed slightly pickled. A very good accompaniment, The kim che, was a separate side, very good condiments that went with the delicious soup.

  • @cletus2580

oh.. really.. actually I've never tried sprouts with vinegar. and pickled.. interesting.. typical sprout side-dish in Korea is.. just boiled and mixed with other ingredients..and the ingredients will be salt.. garlic.. sesame oil..sesame seeds.. and green onions.. :D

  • I almost forgot the soup I tried also has some very thin vermicelli type noodle not sure what that was called, oyster mushroom would be very good in this soup they shred nicely in strips when you pull them apart, would you fry these first, as they would have a pleasant nutty taste if you did? The enokitake mushroom is nice too, I would add both!!

  • yummy!

  • Hi! I just made this! It is so wonderful, thank you for the recipe! @:)

  • my mouth is watering

  • I love your cooking, it always makes me hungry everytime I watch your cooking videos

  • I love ur cooking, makes me hungry everytime when I watch ur video

  • I've had this soup with clear noodles. The noodles make it a yummy version as well.

  • my favorite.. yukgae jang.. waaa begopa

  • Very labour intensive....

  • watching ur vids makes me so hungry i love all of the Asian food mmmm soo good and your voice is so soft and pleasant :)

  • Hello aeriskitchen, this dish looks so delicious, can I not add the eggs or is it necessary?

  • hi, pineapplescoconuts

aha... you don't like eggs or can't eat ?? I think you can skip it... thanks !!!

  • Wow- excellent video! I am Vietnamese and LOVE all Korean soups especially this one so thank you! I do have a question. There is another soup I order alot at my local Korean Mart. It is a hot n spicy soup but all it has in it are slices of all kinds of meat, pork, and innards like intestine, liver, heart, tongue (I'm just guessing these) and is served with rice and kimchee on the side. I always order it by pointing cus I cant read Korean! Do you have any idea what soup I am referring to?

  • hi, TamProductions

Thanks for your commnet.. about your question.. to be honest, I can't guess well what you meant..because.. the ingredients seem quite unique.. like.. liver heart tongue ?? oops.. I've never tried Korean soup with tongue before.. sorry.. if you have chance to try it again, can you ask the Korean restaurant what the name is ?? :)

  • @TamProductions it probably nae jang tang(intestines soup) not very common dish but it's very delcious in some restaurants

  • wonderful recipy thank you for sharing it with us. you would make a great cooking host, maybe you'll become a famous tv star soon, you have what it takes :)

  • Hi, RedSeaCoral
