Yeah That is really awesome.

I don't mind the trigger discipline, you know its unloaded and its just easier to hold.

Just try not to bogart the revolver too much. (Swing the cylinder closed) It displaces the cylinder from the firing pin and can turn that nice .357 into a nice grenade.

Ruger came too late on the market for Law Enforcement to catch a large following, but they got it by offering Stainless Steel before anyone else in a Duty Sized Weapon, which came first the GP 100 by Ruger or the 586/686 by Smith & Wesson, both very similar in apperance, though I would say the Ruger is Superior to the Smith for Durability but the Action suffers greatly as getting an action smoothed on Coil Springs never comes out like the Smith for smoothness, yet I still will take the Ruger!

@FormerMPSGT I agree.My first .357 was a Ruger because I liked the looks of it but once I'd fired it,I really took to it because those things are built strongly.No sideplates or extraneous holes in the frame to weaken the firearm.Bill Ruger's design team knocked that one out of the park. 23 years later,I STILL don't use autoloaders.

My Ruger Police Service Six is almost as accurate as my Colt Python....my Redhawk .44 Mag is a terrific gun... Used to hunt rabbits with my Ruger .22 Mark I.....I like my Taurus 85 in .38.....never owned a S& W, nor a Chevy pickup... just not attracted to them.

@iegemboy a double action revolver has a longer trigger pull , by pressing the trigger you pull the hammer back in cocked position while at the same time indexing the cylinder to the next round and at the very last release the hammer striking the firing pin.

altho most DA revolvers can be cocked manually to give you a single action pull
