  • thanks guys today i have make give up my friend with this move!

  • Great way to set up the Oma- and gogaplatas! If they don't already tap from crank, or if cranking not legal in specific tourneys! Awesome vid!

  • pointless vid

  • @linx1bjj Why? Articulate your reasons. Because it doesn't fall into the rule sets in which you compete? A reverse triangle crank (this move) is a viable move taught bu many teachers.

  • @linx1bjj pointless comment. Bolt lock is legit. Even if you can't submit with it, it serves to get their arm back across your belly and fix your triangle if you choose to use it that way. For grapplers wondering what I'm talking about, set up the bolt lock, but then instead of cranking the neck, raise your hips. You'll see what happens to that arm.

  • Hey Ari just wondering if while your transitioning your legs from the triangle to the bolt if you can hold down his neck as a way to prevent his passing guard and/or escape?

  • WOW

  • Wow. Wonderful! I have never seen this move used. I will be practicing it.

  • Is this move legal in tournaments? It looks kinda like a neck crank, any thoughts?

  • Amazing technique . Just a question though , is the bolt lock a neck crank or a shoulder crank ?

  • @jojox3rxql It pulls on the neck when you pull the head towards the elbow. after a certain degree your neck doesnt want to go any more lol. it looks like a neck crank

  • damn, this is a crank? that means i can't use it in my upcoming tournament and it would have been super helpful :(

  • I think it really says something about the brazilians that they weren't willing to learn the japanese names for the techniques they learned. Everything I've ever seen in BJJ (including 10th planet) has a name in japanese.

  • sick submission, always needed an alternative to the transition into armbar

  • very nice and this has to be painful because he starts tapping immediately when you apply the crank.cool thanks

  • now were gona have a bunch dumb white belts thinking its ok to pull this

  • Is this considered a Neck crank? wanted to see if it could be used in youth NAGA competitions

  • thanks for this technique I could see me using this alot. I learn alot from your videos and use them in class successfully, thanks guys

  • Matt looks alot like Ashton Kutcher

  • Once you lock up the bolt lock @:56 you can take your left hand grab their wrist on the arm that is trapped and force your right foot towards the ground and take the kimura, just another option!

  • If this is a neck crank, wouldn't this be illegal for all BJJ divisions, including brown and black?

  • Ari! I love your gi! please tell me where I can get one!

  • ahhh i hate this my teacher puts a lot of pressure on the traps, i usually almsot tap from just that

  • can yal post a video on how to escape from high mount where your arms are pinned by their knees and they are ground and pounding the face

  • @htaylr13 joking right?

  • @groundnpound702 no. want to try and escape while i smash your face in to the ground? didnt think so so shut up

  • @htaylr13 herp derp be nice. the internet is no place to start a fight ;)

  • @groundnpound702 then show up at my house and ill start it there

  • @htaylr13 but why? how about you find a jiu jitsu gym in your area, I guarantee you that everyone will be nice to you. you need more nice people.

  • @groundnpound702 dont do ju jitsu. combat hapkido bro

  • @htaylr13 that's cool man, so why don't you make combat hapkido videos on escaping the high mount with ground and pound? Ari doesn't make a lot of non bjj or jjj videos that deal with mma situations.

  • @groundnpound702 i would if i had the time. juggling football, school, family, and training....

  • thanks guys.. love the vids.. i love this one when the triangle doesnt work

  • thanks guys.. love the vids.. i love this one when the triangle doesnt work

  • My profesor told me this was ilegal... No cervical techniques are allowed in bjj, is that true?

  • My profesor told me this was ilegal... No cervical techniques are allowed in bjj, is that true?

  • Damn , love this technique ! It looks like a really nasty neck crank . I personally love triangles , and im sure this will be a great addition to my triangle game should my opponent prevents me from pulling his arm across his neck . Also really love how the omoplata is right there if the bolt lock should fail ! :} .

Submissions101 , you guys are as real as it get . Keep making these awesome videos , and roll on . :]

  • very useful against police officers that try to lock you

  • And when this fails go for omoplata.

  • BOLT = Bolden's Other Leg Triangle

    Yes, I'm a Jedi.

  • Nasty. Added to the list. I useca variation of this to tighten the actual triangle by staying in the normal triangle position but wrap both my knees and s grip behind their head squeezing my knees together. Works well. This will be nice to add if I can't connect my hands.

  • It´s like 10th Planet JJ technic "Tepee"?? (Thanks 4 your videos Ari)

  • I guess since you mentioned the legality in some venues, that this is a neck crank and not a choke?

  • This is effective as well because (I'm assuming) most people would think you are trying to transition into an omaplato, nice move, cheers ari

  • i wanna see matt do something funny

  • It's good to have options and all, but if you have good hips wouldn't it be a good idea to thrust him down and to the right and grab a kimura?

  • Gonna be trying this tonight

  • Brand new white belt here (27days) and I LOVE watching your vids. I get to learn what I learn in class, come home, watch your vids and try to implement them into my game. I used this successfully tonight on another white belt and it felt like an awesome accomplishment! lol Thanks guys!

  • @robm78

White belt with a bolt lock, nice!

  • @robm78

    Always a wonderful feeling!

  • lol his face just screams "i hate my job"

  • neck crank or choke?

  • is this legal in judo?

  • @SLVSTRN Cranks typically are not, most legal techniques are most chokes and a few jointlocks [variations of juji-gatame(armbar) and ude-garami (americana)].

  • @JimidoWOOOW Thank you, so only arm bars and chokes? what about kimuras, or arm triangles?

  • @SLVSTRN I believe most of the shoulderlock moves (kimura, americana, keylock, etc.) and all gi chokes and arm triangles (arm triangle, anaconda, brabo, darce, whatever else there is) are legal as well. As for the guillotine and its variations, not sure about those. But leglocks are 100% illegal.

  • @JimidoWOOOW Thank you nice info there do you practice judo yourself?

  • @SLVSTRN yes, I was close to my blue belt in BJJ, but went onto Judo.

  • when you change your angle it looks like your goin for an oomoplata

  • haha i love how he tapped to the triangle he set up in the beginning :P

  • Dam Ari.. i wish i could get to your gym. Im stuck in Yakima WA. With no 10th planet gym. I need that "New-Jitsu" !!!! Ahah =] Always appriciate your videos. Helps me a ton keep them coming! =] And BTW if i think ive came up with a technique, whom do i tell?

  • oooo i like this, i use the reverse triangle sometimes but i can use the bolt lock, of course for spazzez or compition. neck cranks hurt!

    thanks for sharing

  • If he leaves his arm exposed like that and just randomly tries to overhook your leg you can also look for an omoplata if he's being that careless. Cool variation tho

  • Ooow woow, this is just one smooth submission when the triangle fails. I always have a hard time get the triangle with stronger opponents. So this is just perfect, gonna train it RIGHT AWAY!!!

  • punk his ass lol

  • are you choking ashton kutcher?

  • i'm guessing you can pull this in no gi too. right?

  • @BoneChillinMusic of course! There is no dependence on the gi here whatsoever.

  • @Submissions101 id rather get choked then cranked lol that looks tight

  • @Submissions101 why isent this used in MMA?

  • Please feel free to repost on your facebook accounts ;-) thanks to our fans and friends!

  • @Submissions101 thanks man you guys are the best i love posting these

  • @Submissions101 would you consider this technique to be relatively easy to set up using rubber guard?

  • @Submissions101 hey guys a question... i am gonna start practicing bjj and i wanna know what you think is more important in that art (strengh, flexibility, etc).

btw your vids are great in fact i see a lot of them and thats why i wanna practice :D

  • this is great! i was looking for a good transition off of the triangle and all! =D

  • looks painful

  • In Your Pro-Opinion, Would it be accurate to say that it could be considered a Triangle version of the twister?

  • @TheJoeyG88 hmmm...well, the twister locks out the spine...I guess you could call it that...sure..why not..;-)

  • Love this transition from Triangle, will be working on this technique in future training.

  • @Illmilgeronimo look up my 3 points of death flow drill as well

  • @Submissions101 Yes! That's what i was looking for when i saw this clip! I immediately remembered that clip but couldn't find it! Thanks!

  • Nice one Ari, you should show some Aikido, change the Ne-Waza to Tachi Waza,
