It bores me for the most part. I was just defending Death Metal as a whole. And I don't think it's very creative to write songs about dead relatives. I find it quite disrespectful.

It seems most slam bands are trying to copy devourment, and it ends up sounding like a shit ton of devourtments instead of a whole genre. There are some good ones though like Atrocious Abnormality, Putrid Pile, and Insidious Decrepancy. I love the old-school shit like Death, but i also like slam too.

I just dont get it, I dig the music and I think that its where the real art is. I listen to this genre over and over because so many people dig it but again I have never once enjoyed the lyricist....... its become generic and I dont care who's singing with this type of music.
