@navnayyar It might do, but you have lowered the standard of filtration required for air entering a turbo charger. It is nowhere near the standard of a paper filter which is 12times the surface area and provides more air than the engine uses at full RPM. The original filter is best to protect your engine, it doesn't restrict flow as some cowboy companies claim in order to sell their products. You and other boy racers need to learn about filtration & how engines work and stop being conned!
Tell us, what does tiny dust or similar garbage that enters turbine or chamber do to engine?
NOTHIING! It is melted away and burnt! Recommended thing is to change oil often since this particales can act like polishing agent on engine once in oil. Who does that has nothing to be worried about.
Its not like you gonna suck in a smaller cow so that engine blows from all that proteins....
hello, i've VW Golf V 2.0tdi 140 remapped by TLR spain (Stage 1 to 185bhp approx). i'm going to put an induction kit and i've seen Pipercross, Green, K&N, FK automotive, BMC-CDA...and i don't know which i'm going to choose. Are you happy with your BMC-CDA? the video sound looks good. Thanks if you can hep me.
@loppeglia Really? Considering it has such a tiny surface area it needs to have big holes in it which will not filter air to the standard required by modern turbo chargers and engines. So it shows you haven't got a clue, don't even know what a filter is and misunderstand why it is attached to your engine! I'm amazed you haven't just left the filter off as you are doing the equivalent by not using a paper element with a huge surface area and smaller holes providing better airflow & filtration.
@gonzaleison You're best sticking to a proper air filter with a huge surface area - that will be the original one!
Avoid aftermarket compnies trying to sell you things that will damage your engine. A K&N I tested allowed huge bits of dirt in to the turbo and scored it, the Pipercross was the same and the oil on both damaged the MAF sensor. Unless you learn about filtration you will go on to be conned repeatedly. Sales teams are very clever to get your money from you by using keywords.
