I have the original game, can't get it to work on my computer. So I tried the websites that have old DOS games, but the game titled "I.J. and the Fate of Atlantis" starts with a salvage boat, which isn't in any of the walkthroughs? i give up.
Hey mate i know this is an old video, but is there a language select screen before the main intro, reason i ask is i've been offered a german copy of the game but wont buy it unless i can select english language
@swiftcirrus no, you can't select languages, but you would make other people happy with the german copy, i think. fate is downloadable for i think 2 dollars, if not less, and you could always download...
@marnix96 I don't emulate i use original hardware :P so download isn't an option without specific floppy drive tools to allow me to write an amiga file on a windows pc
@swiftcirrus i've got the original cd-rom, can't you just use the files on there? i use scummVm now, but back in the day where i was like, 8, (yes, i first tried playing it at that age) i used original dos, with that disk.
Oh, the beginning sequence ... if this movie really had been converted into a film, I'm sure Ford would have thought twice about reprising Indy's role - even WITH a stuntman!
lol just cus they dont make great games like this every five days doesnt mean great video games are dead haha portal 2! great mind work out! Bad company 2 and up coming battlefeld 3! Yes shooter but takes a hell of alot more mind work then call of duty, and great games like this master piece dont come out every 5 days but they stil do exsist and there is few game companys that beleive in that still... lol plus dont act like even when this came out there wasnt any shitty games haha
@Wittmann73 So true. I wonder when Hollywood will discover all the great stories told by f.e. Lucas Arts. There are so many great adventures which would be very suitable for the cinema.
I loved this game. This game was a key component to my childhood. I have since reflected on it and have found it to be just as, if not more engrossing than reading a good novel. Perhaps it was because I couldn't figure out that you had to open the damn kerosene lamp in Tikal that this game took so long for me to complete. But that was the beauty of it, it was a story being gradually uncovered as another piece to the puzzle was uncovered. Hopefully they re release this as a special edition.
Why was this recorded on the Amiga version? The windows version that came on a CD had full voices for every person in the game, plus high quality music. :\
I agree with everyone who hates on the new modern games
HOWEVER i think instead of just bitching about it(despite having the right to do that XP) we should instead use our time to recreate these type of games! Wether you write, draw, program, or just be a good leader, if we work together we could easily bring back the golden days to the modern times.
loved this game was gutted i didn't complete it tho got stuck somewhere in the game, man these games were good proper made u think could of done with youtube bac then!!!
good game unfortunately never made a movie with relation to the game is a real pity the game was so good that to this day it could make a movie based on the game as in the comic of the same.
I do like the music, but would prefer to have the collateral sounds. Voice is not something I would go without, but the sound effects just are too lacking.
Otherwise, this really took a good piece of effort to put together. Thanks.
It is better without voice!!!The music of this game is more significant than the voice of the guys involved in this game!!!It is better to hear the music than hearing the conversations between the guys!
I didn't know about this version when I made the last comment. I just assumed the version I have (with Dougue Lee as Indy) was the standard game. I did like the music of my version better because it was different for each scene. And it was meant as background music/not explicitly to add suspense.
You say "no voice, what good is it?" What good is it?? whatever you are smoking mate you had better cut back on it because it must be some really strong shit! a good 80% of all adventure games EVER made had NO speech and many of them WITHOUT speech made me and thousands of others happy and in many cases were BETTER than games with speech due to a lack of reliance of aural enhancements to sell the game so instead a PROPER game was made.
@blade004 I know you're for real because you used CAPSLOCK! What I meant was, if you upload a 4:38 hours game to youtube, why do it without the voice, a significat part of the game itself?
In the constant sea of mindless violence of RTS and FPS games of today, we have all but truly lost a consistent icon of gaming with that being the Adventure game.
Exactly right! we now live in a sea of brain dead gamers that if sat in front of Indy, Future Wars, Operation Stealth, Kings Quest..etc, you would find them a year later still stuck on the first screen with their mouth open and a blank vacuous stare at the screen as their neural connections bounce off one another without making any real connection.
Put them on an FPS and there is suddenly a neural connection but it only travels in one direction and stimulates 0.01% of the brain.

I loved this game. Came so close to every point all 3 different ways, but was always off by a few at the end. Could never figure out how to get a perfect score. Still, I played it a lot of times just to do all the crazy stuff you could in this game. I remember the old Last Crusade game from back in the day. Selecting the right cup at the end was a trial and error process. First time through that game, I choose every cup and died. The last thing was the giant bowl in the back...and it was it.
Why would it seem the movie is 4+ hours? if you check the length of the movie, located in the right corner under the movie, it says the movie is 2:48:53....
Lucas should've made a movie from this in 1992, instead of that piece of shit Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I remember having this game, and hoping a movie would be made from it.
I used to play with this back when I was around 7. To tell the truth I didnt understand english AT ALL at that time, so it took a while to beat the game (I think about 2 years or so), but I always got so immersed in it, because I could fill in the gaps I did not understand by my imagination :).
And this was one of the pc games that helped me learn english, it is way more fun and cheaper than going to english classes :)
exactly the same for me. i remember thinking that all the stuff about plato and atlantis was soo interesting and i tried to find as much as i could about it from everybody i knew. great game! :)
They really need to give thios game a facelift and re-release like they did to Monkey Island 1&2..
I will gladly buy it!
FoA Hads to be my all time number one point and click adventure game!
I still somtimes play it.

If people want to rewatch the video from another point beyond the 2:48:54 mark at a later time and don't know how, simply add:
&feature=player_detailpage#t=11500s
at the end of the URL of the video. Replace the '11500' with the ammount of seconds into the video.

How long this video really is? At first it seemed to last over 4 hours, but when I started to watch it, it lasted only 2 hours and 48 minutes.

Why would it seem the movie is 4+ hours? if you check the length of the movie, located in the right corner under the movie, it says the movie is 2:48:53....
cubex55 3 years ago
In some weird reason it's in my playlist 4:39:38. But when I watch it, it's 2:48:53.

where do you get the time to play every single DOS game on the planet?
jdsilver86 3 years ago
1. This game is not DOS (as in PC), it's an Amiga game.
2. We are several players doing these recordings, so not just one person.
3. We record games on our spare time.
4. Read the channel FAQ.

Lucas should've made a movie from this in 1992, instead of that piece of shit Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I remember having this game, and hoping a movie would be made from it.

AMIGA + SCUMM games = Match made in heaven
:-)

I used to play with this back when I was around 7. To tell the truth I didnt understand english AT ALL at that time, so it took a while to beat the game (I think about 2 years or so), but I always got so immersed in it, because I could fill in the gaps I did not understand by my imagination :).
And this was one of the pc games that helped me learn english, it is way more fun and cheaper than going to english classes :)

This is awesome, but if you were going to commit over 3 hours to this you should have played with the voices on. It's half the fun.
