Nice to see this trailer in the film's original aspect ratio. How about a release on Blu-ray with some cool extras and a 5.1 lossless sound track? That would rule! I can always dream...
An AWESOME sequel! Roddy McDowall is so awesome, the girl in this one was a goddess, and I so wish this would get a DVD rerelease (so I can get it this time!). Or, maybe a blu-ray? Perhaps when the remake comes out...
i got the dvd version of FN2 and it is very bad quality, plus the 4:3 take off more points :S
hope to see this in a decent widescreen format, 1080p :D to specify better!:D come on, its the time to get all our classic movies in a decent resolution, 80s and 90s movies, like the unnamable, return of the living dead part 2 and many more, well notice that a guy from some forums site said that monsters hd channel aired this movie in Hd back in 2008 so we hope to see this ina blu ray soon! :D
However, it seems to have good elements of the first one, in the trailer. And the first "Fright Night" was a classic. Anyone who says otherwise is an unequalled jackass.
Peter Vincent, Charley Brewster & Jerry Dandridge were all characters I used, in my RPG days. I even attempted to create an RPG where the task was to rid the world of all "Horror Movie" villains/monsters. Was a good idea, but sadly, I never finished it.
Like the first film i can say whith great convinience, that even the second one was a very good continue. For some people those two films are supose to be b movies, for me it was masterpieses. And show us that even that remake them again and again it will not be the same!
i am a huge fan of the original fright night and the sequel.it was really cool to see charlie and peter vincent together again.the chemistry between them was just fun to watch.the first one will always be my favorite but i do love the sequel.i like how they put a werewolf in the mix and the the bug eater guy.
The first film is great, this one is merely good. I think the studio agreed, as it never got a fair shot. Limit theatrical release, crummy DVD release. I still think a special edition is in order, as it certainly has a cult following behind it.
As im a fan of the original Fright night i really enjoyed this part 2 . Nice story , great affects ,glad both charlie and peter were back in it and julie carmen did a good job of Regine .
This is not the original trailer. The Original trailer did not have any video. They only had a graphic , with background sounds. And a voice saying that because the movie was so gross and horrifying they could not show the footage on TV. I remember it well, because I remember watching the first one on VHS. When part 2 came out me and my mom were excited because we saw the first one at home on a video rental night. :)
TriStar has the theatrical rights but Lionsgate owns the movie as a whole, but I digress from my point. You're right. Lionsgate is re-issuing all their catalog titles on DVD. When they re-issue this, the should put the trailer in.
Not necessarily so. Although TriStar released the film theatrically, it's in the Lionsgate library until otherwise due it owning some of the films produced by Vista Organization (the company that produced the movie). But you're right. Lionsgate may have lost rights long after they released it bare-bones on DVD years ago. Sony might release it well and give it a couple of features like this trailer.
I have found 2 versions of the film, both in pan and scan, but one has the opening scenes in it's original 2.35:1 aspect ratio, but other copies pan and scan all of it.
dvd pick up : fright night 2, the relic, count yorga, pieces, retro puppet master.
i bought these all at the same place last week for 13 dollars.

Lol... another classic.!! Roddy McDowall rules again.!! To bad the remake of Fright Night Sucks.? I miss the good old days... lol..

@33Ven The remake got better reviews than the sequel so Fright Night 2 is the worst of the whole series.
DavidGoodTimes 5 months ago
@33Ven 2 months later and the remake received positive reviews. And as a fan of the original, it was actually pretty good.

yes i agree i even thaught the art work was very poor
two eyes and a mouth on white not attractive the art for the uk vhs
release was better and for the dvd not evan a audio commentarie track
or a trailer but what do you expect that what you got for your money
if you pay extortionate mount of money for a sappy dvd .

This trailer gave away way too many scenes!

A fun sequel to the classic original. Fright Night 1&2 both desperately need special editon releases.

Well for the upcoming remake next year, i'm sure Sony and Lionsgate will release these in special annivesary Blu-Rays and DVD.
Johnlindsey289 1 year ago
@Johnlindsey289 That would be killer. Hopefully the remake will live up to the brilliance of the original though.
