  • Can someone whos never climbed before do this,,im moving to NZ soon and would love my first crack at climbing a mountain,,is nz a good place to start??Im 29 and in shape,i bet this would life changing,,ive cycled across Europe before and now look for something greater to do some sole searching.Hope to hear from you.Peace from Ireland

  • @ClarksonsinUSA yeah. im gonna live on very little while im starting a job when i get i graduate. Hopefully as a zoologist;however, they dont make much money. so im going to have to be really frugal if i want to go on trips like these. ahh i cant wait for the day!

  • Hey Richard Harcourt here down in CHCH, looks like you've been having some fun in the hills too. Some time have a crack at the Inland Kaikouras, some good old climbs in there, also check out Arthurs Pass area real good day trips from the road in there. Cheers

  • the landing is on the Horace Walker Glacier to the west, but i agree with you. Intend to go back and do the walkin to biv above waterfall, day 2 to summit and back to biv, day 3 out.The flyin did buy us a day of good weather and allowed us to climb Thompson before the weather packed in; but agree with you...Sefton from the West in good style, is a quick light ascent from the coast.
