A380 is a BEAST. But what a lot of peole don't realise IT'S A PAIN to get in or get out from / into. Boarding starts 1 hour before the flight and it takes about 45 minutes to get all passangers out.
What a gorgeous plane! Can't wait to go and see one at Manchester! How far away from the aviation viewing park does the wing stretch?? Bet you can almost reach out and touch it.
@FSXtechno4live Its called a "spray down" it normally happens when an aircraft of that type first lands at that airport or a senior pilot is retiring and its his last flight. Getting a spray down is an honour, as it only happens on very special occations
You know that TCX at 0:45? The control tower asked if he wanted to depart, but he said no.He reportedly said,"I wanna see the A380 land for the first time at Manchester."
@bunkerboy02 It`s called The Airport Pub, We went there in 2009 while in the U.K. Google Map it and get directions. It was really good, there is a small playground for the kids, meals were ok and has a pay for parking car park.
@bunkerboy02 No worries, We intend to go back on our next visit over there as well. It would be a good Buzz to see the A380 take off over the pub, the biggest we saw last time we were there was an A340.
@bunkerboy02 Its actually called the 'Airport Hotel' and is owned and operated by Robinsons brewery. To be honest its a bit shabby, a bit over priced and the food is typical pub grub from the 1970's, BUT it gives EXCELLENT views of aircraft movements and everybody is pretty friendly. The car park gets VERY full at the weekends and don't even think about parking on the road
@acme181169 Cheers, much appreciated. Possibly won't stay over then and take a packed lunch, but I may use their beer garden for a drink! Thanks again.
Great stuff,it really picks up speed for a massive plane.I shall be down there again on Saturday, maybe joes field if on the 23`s,then hiking down runway 2 yet again !!
Im assuming this is going to be the regular aircraft on the Man-Dubai route? if so how on earth are some of these routes financially viable (if someones in the know) I can understand a 767 or something operating the route but this is a 'BIG' plane as we all know to fill with bums on seats........
@1970sPlaneSpotter Took off 23R again today, 3:30PM, 23L opens at 4PM. Was 05's in the morning but wind went calm about 10AM ish, so they switched to 23s.
@1970sPlaneSpotter haha, looks like wrong information! I left airport at 2PM today, was told that the A380 left at the times & runway I said, but MCPC has corrected me there. Sorry Simon :P
Excellent video mate. My video is poor, I will have to film it at another date, I was on the hills at the AVP to the sides of the viewing spots, it was nice, had people kicking my tri-pod, people just walking past my shot and all sorts, managed to crop some out.
Shame about the landing - a bit bouncy. I don't think the A380 looks as graceful as the 777, 747 or A330/A340s. It's a bit like watching a whale land. However, a very historic moment and it was nice to see the water cannon salute!
@HeathrowSpottingHD Thanks alot! Alot of people were saying she would only ever use 23L which is why I was set up down there. People now saying it ony used 23R yesterday because of the media and all the people that had pre-paid to go into the AVP. I guess we'll see.
@Jett203 Hmm I guess they asked to depart or told via whoever for those at the AVP for a better view maybe? I don't really know to much about manchester.
damn my voice is awefull in radio (<- FO on board of this flight)

Why are is the plane being run over water at 2:04? Just curious. :-)
RyanBachoo 1 year ago
@RyanBachoo Its a tradional thing, the airport fire trucks use their monitors to form an arc of water, like a welcome tradition.
Scousefire 11 months ago
@RyanBachoo
it's like a welcome party basically, happens with most new deliveries of aircrafts.
