I loved hearing this! I am not a Monica Fan...anymore. But that was because she teaches that the Holy Spirit is a woman. Terrible. But as a minor minor defense of Monica, my very best friend still holds on to Calvinism, as he used to be one. We get in really good debates about choose/chosen/predestination and sovereignty of God. Calvinists may bring people to Christ, but they still follow Calvin's teachings, AKA, they follow Calvin. The Calvinists are indeed Christians, as you say...BUT!

I had heard of Monica's attacks upon Calvinism, but didn't really bother listening to them since I'd already heard the disgusting anti-Trinitarian and feminine Holy Spirit nonsense lectures she had already given (I would never profane the term "sermon" by attributing it to such rubbish). This Lutheran did a fine job in refuting this endless barrage of bromides and trite. Yet one more reason to thank God's unfailing Word for reminding us that women have no place ministering The Word.
I think Monica has a good point. When it comes to "who do you fallow." Calvinist will say they fallow Calvin or Calvins teaching. I believe that God is looking for those people who will fallow Him. She's a very misguided young lady. It sounds very much to me like she believes she has been anointed to grant revelations to the end times church, attacking denominations to make them listen to HER, for HER to lead them to salvation, twisting around the scriptures to suit her worldview. oh and while I agree that God has a triune makeup I think his makeup is not properly understood by most Christians and I in part blame the Trinity doctrine which is a Gnostic invention(I'll post the evidence if its asked of me)

Thank you brother. I found myself wondering what brought on this rant against our Calvinist brothers and sisters. You might be right about the Denningtonist comment. The way Monica acted in her rant is the way cult leaders control their followers.
My main concern is that the way she does her teachings, it's almost like she's trying to separate her followers like a cult leader would from everyone else. A lot of these videos she brings her teachings which she claims are from scripture alone and says that if you disagree with her, that you are condemned, or have the mark of the beast, or are contentious, or something.

A distinction needs to be made between a denomination's doctrine going against scripture and the very existence of denominations themselves going against scripture. Our host and a majority of the commenters are implicitly assuming the second point to be false in their defense of a Calvinist's rights to defend their Christ centered doctrine.
Monica Dennington is explicity charging the second point to be true based on scripture. The charges against MD are misdirected to imply her denial or misunderstanding of the truths that exist under the umbrella of Calvinism (worship of Chirst and not Calvin) instead of against her clarification that any denomination itself by its very existence irrespective of its doctrine is in direct conflict with scripture and leads to division within the body of Christ.
There are over 50,000 denominations in Christianity in the world today and the numbers are growing. The growth is the result of flesh overtaking the spirit as we are prone to allow due to our very nature as fallen creatures of God.
Man's formation of Calvinism or Lutheranism or Presbyterianism is an attempt to reclaim for ourselves more significance importance meaning for our version of what scripture really says and therefore places us as having a clearer understanding than the other denominations who don't have it quite right.
The arrogant and self centered manifestation of our need to create our own importance within the body of Christ is reflected in over 50,000 Christian denominations. The division should be self evident.
It is not the congregations themselves necessarily within a particular denom. who profess their disdain for non-members - it is rather their mere implicit acceptance into that body as distinctive from another denom. which makes this a subtle form of divisiveness within a unified body. We have chosen an interpretation of scripture in a sense that is in accord with ourselves and our own sensibilities instead of allowing scripture itself to discern truth. A very subtle yet important distinction.
Her method of boxing herself into the center of supporters and rejecting outright anyone who disputes what she says is a tad cultish. Any teacher worth their salt will be able to obliterate lies with the truth. If she can't defend what she's saying - should she be saying it at all? Well, of course - no.

Unification church are similar. They believe that God the Father and the female Holy spirit are the true parents. While that's true scripture describes the HS with feminine pronouns, that does not prove that the HS must be female. Just that the HS like God has what are considered feminine characteristics. Both Monica and Unification Church are a little off in their conclusions.
One thing I would like to point out here that if I am filled with the Holy Sprit then before I make a hest to talk about big debates I will understand scripture completely and will not ignore the very command of my heavenly father mentioned in Ex 20:4 You shall not make unto yourself any graven image..and so the question in my heart troubles me about the Cross that the Monioca is wearing all the time. When we boil it all down, I agree that all who God has redeemed are "Christians", however, our denominational labels help us to summarize more specifically what we believe. Most Americans consider themselves "Christian" by birthright, so someone who calls themselves a Christian is not necessarily one. My brother, who is a Mormon, calls himself a Christian.

My concern is not so much that she does not agree with Calvinism - but how she handles disagreement by "excommunicating" when the scriptural grounds for excommunication have not been met - nor has God given her that place or authority to speak ex cathedra. She is not speaking by the Spirit. So then, she is speaking by another spirit - and it is very divisive. She is also drawing diciples after herself via division. Wolf concern.

I studied my Bible (in arminiast churches growing up) and ended up what is defined as a "5 point Calvinist" without EVER being in a reformed church, reading ONE reformed work let ALONE ever reading ANYTHING. by John Calvin. The "three things" are not "context context context" and btw, *you have no Scripture for that* (please take honest note), but is "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every fact be established." Note this is twice in the OT and confirmed FOUR times in the New, yet conservative fundamentalists IGNORE this FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH.

I loved hearing this! I am not a Monica Fan...anymore. But that was because she teaches that the Holy Spirit is a woman. Terrible. But as a minor minor defense of Monica, my very best friend still holds on to Calvinism, as he used to be one. We get in really good debates about choose/chosen/predestination and sovereignty of God. Calvinists may bring people to Christ, but they still follow Calvin's teachings, AKA, they follow Calvin. The Calvinists are indeed Christians, as you say...BUT!

Wow, i was following this lady for awhile, but stopped after hearing one thing after another that just didn't sound right. I don't mean that everyone in the Body has to agree on everything all the time, but Monica seems to be using a controlling spirit to "warn" us of so called "controlling spirits" that aren't even really there *(it's called slander, by the way). I had heard of Monica's attacks upon Calvinism, but didn't really bother listening to them since I'd already heard the disgusting anti-Trinitarian and feminine Holy Spirit nonsense lectures she had already given (I would never profane the term "sermon" by attributing it to such rubbish). This Lutheran did a fine job in refuting this endless barrage of bromides and trite. Yet one more reason to thank God's unfailing Word for reminding us that women have no place ministering The Word.

I think Monica has a good point. When it comes to "who do you fallow." Calvinist will say they fallow Calvin or Calvins teaching. I believe that God is looking for those people who will fallow Him. My main concern is that the way she does her teachings, it's almost like she's trying to separate her followers like a cult leader would from everyone else. A lot of these videos she brings her teachings which she claims are from scripture alone and says that if you disagree with her, that you are condemned, or have the mark of the beast, or are contentious, or something.

A distinction needs to be made between a denomination's doctrine going against scripture and the very existence of denominations themselves going against scripture. Our host and a majority of the commenters are implicitly assuming the second point to be false in their defense of a Calvinist's rights to defend their Christ centered doctrine.

The charges against MD are misdirected to imply her denial or misunderstanding of the truths that exist under the umbrella of Calvinism (worship of Chirst and not Calvin) instead of against her clarification that any denomination itself by its very existence irrespective of its doctrine is in direct conflict with scripture and leads to division within the body of Christ.

We have chosen an interpretation of scripture in a sense that is in accord with ourselves and our own sensibilities instead of allowing scripture itself to discern truth. A very subtle yet important distinction.

I was actually a lister on Monica's, until that Holy Sprit video of hers. That is a really bad teaching, and she has yet to make videos refuting any concerns I or other listeners have shared.
But I do agree that calvinism is horrible. Calvin taught that usury is ok. I think he was basically an agent of the Vatican, trying to get christians to accept usury, thereby allowing the catholic church's Vatican Bank, to become the strong, world controling entity it is today.

Unification church are similar. They believe that God the Father and the female Holy spirit are the true parents. While that's true scripture describes the HS with feminine pronouns, that does not prove that the HS must be female. Just that the HS like God has what are considered feminine characteristics. I dont understand why people argue over whether or not we chose God or He chose us...and thinking about it why cant it be both? Maybe,some situations are different?

Why aren't you admonishing her to have sat down and spoken with us before she made her video? It seems that your critique can cut both ways so if you only meant for it to pertain to one side, you maybe should have thought of that before you made it.

Frankly, I lean towards Calvinism myself too, & sincerely enjoy AW Pink's books. I know I suffer heinously from pride. My point is that all this squabbling amongst Christians makes us look ridiculous. I have to defend my faith to my unsaved family all the time because of these divisions. I would rather call out Joel Osteen or Rick Warren. Tic toc ministries does preach in the name of Christ & remains Christ centered. I do not intend my reply to be unloving or condemning, please do not attack me.

Yes, women are not to preach or pastor in the church. Tictoc Youtube ministry is done so men do not HAVE to watch it! She is not ministering to you specifically. Why are you attacking her? Why are you so sure of your own views? Could it be arrogance that convinces you of your own perfection? Are you willing to concede that you MIGHT be wrong? Only by reading Scripture prayerfully, with an open heart can you ever discern the truth. Search your heart for pride, repent if you see it & move on.

I would hope that no one is attacking her, especially if we are Christians here. I certainly do not feel the person reviewing her video is "attacking" her. He just demolished her argument, which is fine. She could learn a lot from this video, not only about Calvinism, but about herself and her method of argument as well.

When we boil it all down, I agree that all who God has redeemed are "Christians", however, our denominational labels help us to summarize more specifically what we believe. Most Americans consider themselves "Christian" by birthright, so someone who calls themselves a Christian is not necessarily one. My brother, who is a Mormon, calls himself a Christian.

I sincerely have a strong concern for Monica Dennington. My concern is not so much that she does not agree with Calvinism - but how she handles disagreement by "excommunicating" when the scriptural grounds for excommunication have not been met - nor has God given her that place or authority to speak ex cathedra. She is not speaking by the Spirit. So then, she is speaking by another spirit - and it is very divisive. She is also drawing diciples after herself via division. Wolf concern.

Then she should do quite a bit more studying and reading to understand something she is going to teach. Me, I will get to the point of how many angels dancing on the pin of a needle on a certain passage. This does not mean I will teach how many angels and why it matters, yet I want to know everything about a passage or a movement before I publicly speak about it. There is no excuse. Study to sho thyself approved is not one of her forte's

Poor dear. Maybe she has a right heart and a right desire for unity -and for us to shed our labels and come to unity. However, that's going to happen when we all comprehend God's Sovereignty, imo. I just don't know what to think. Maybe she's sincere, has a right desire, just doesn't understand, and can't get from point A to Z.. though she wants us all at "Z"... and can't take us there. Well, bless her and may the Lord grant her insight and understanding. This is embarrassing for her, imo.

Excuse me. I studied my Bible (in arminiast churches growing up) and ended up what is defined as a "5 point Calvinist" without EVER being in a reformed church, reading ONE reformed work let ALONE ever reading ANYTHING. by John Calvin. (rant off lol) I'm @ 41 min mark. She doesn't get it. I have nothing to do with Calvin. It's a systematic understanding of the Word of God by systematic STUDY!!! (I read a literal bible YLT & changed 1 position later.) I became a "Calvinist" by BIBLE STUDY.

Amen. Same thing happened with me in a Independent fundamental Baptist Bible College which is very armnian(though they will often deny this) I studied the bible on my own and came to be a 4 ptr(still do not see Limited Atonement)
Now, I will say, I have read Calvin and many Calvinistic authors since then. Right now my favorites are John Bunyan and AW Pink.

1st I am NOT Monica's cheerleader. 2nd it is not fair the way you set this up in the beginning because drew conclusions and presented them rather than letting people come to their conclusion under the guise of the Holy Spirit. It's kind of like you are leading here.
I am a Christians and I do not associate with Calvinism and Armenianism because neither of the two die for my sins and both were in need of a savior themselves. I do not see how Monica abused scripture here. Pls. show me out?

Dennington is just another example of how modern day century Christianity has abandoned the Authority of scriptures and the history of the Church which already fought this battle. Just goes to show how arrogant and rebellious 21st century sinners really are!
