  • those exact shells they sound like c & c customs snare you just need to find it

  • @kapampangan925

That was when I first threw it all together and I wanted to get a video up. It's tuned and broken in big time. It sounds like a firecracker going off and most gigs it goes un-miced by the soundguy due to its projection.

  • tighten the bottom head more and get a new top head (that version of the EC2 sounds terrible) and it will sound epic!

  • @hosea51188 yeah that head was old...and I don't use Evans anymore I had a lot of problems with their products...and thanks for teaching me how to tune my drums!!! LIKE I'VE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE!!!

  • Your snare looks very nice and I think it has a very cool sound. Great Job !!

  • dude how did you know where to drill the holes etc. without some mega complex jig mechanism? its what's kept me from building my own entire KIT until now...

  • I just traced the shell onto a piece of posterboard, then divided the circle evenly into 8 pieces because it's 8 lugs. Drew the lines straight on the shell. Figured out where holes needed to be distance wise. Marked them on lines. Did some guess work and double checked my guess work on the strainer. Infinitely checked all my measurements. Drilled. Assembled. Enjoyed!!!

And I am definitely making a kit to match this snare.

Bonus:::The snare only cost me $300 compared to $600 from a shop!!!

  • thanks man

  • Yeh no problem. If you need any help or just have some questions just ask them.

  • u measure...diameter of shell divided by how many lugs you want 6 8 10 etc...just to get an idea

  • I wouldn't suggest only doing that. Because my shell was a little smaller than 14, by a hair, but when I did just one measurement, it screwed me up a hair and I had to reposition a lug using a tiny notch in the shell. It's not visible becuase it's so small but just that little mistake made me so angry. I'd measure and check as many times possible. That way you know you wont screw it up.

  • I like it!!!

    Good job dude!
