If the FA's case against Terry was watertight that by being on a football pitch he was in some way a danger to the public then there might be a case. There is nothing, I repeat nothing in the FA's rules that would legimate the FA banning clubs from employing Terry if they wish to. This is what we are talking about here. A footballer's contract lies with the club, only the club can only sack him, which they clearly don't want to do. If the FA tried to permanently suspend him they would be done for infringement of trade, they just wouldn't do it.
