  • @ 2:15 I'm sure that noise is copyrighted by Matt Groening. I'm just saying what with this being the days of ACTA and all that.

  • Very impressive, if anyone likes greenhouse vids, please check out my huge commercial hydroponic greenhouse and post a comment. I'm growing beautiful plants all year round.

  • that is just amazing. What would a system like that cost ? Really want my own one. YOU are really spoiled!!! :)

  • where's da bud???lol

  • Building an expensive greenhouse to grow a coupe of bucks worth of rabbit food : Why?

  • Awesome...Check out our channel for some green tips and deals

  • weres the weed, fuck letuce!

  • are you guys using organic liquid fertilizers?

  • Interesting system and it looks a lot less labour intensive than the old soil and spade growing system. Can you grow all types of green leafed veg or just salad-type varieties? In the UK, I used to see watercress farms where they had clean flowing water and fields of watercress - wish we could have it here. Good luck with the project!

  • i want one...

  • it would be good idea to have adjustable blind slats to adjust light levels when you want direct light.

  • Any plans available for your greenhouse....great design.

  • You guys are awesome!!

  • That is a beautiful greenhouse, very nice job. :)

  • A nice stroll through the garden. Short on details but long on ambiance.

  • why hydro if you got a greenhouse

  • I love your greenhouse! amazing, simple and clean!

I was wondering if you made the trays that the plants are in or if you bought them?!

  • Hats off to your husband. He's built a fab setup

  • 1. how much is the water bill?

    2. how much is the electric bill?

    3. is the water recycled?

  • @21centuryg it costs so much for water in my area. I have the same questions. also winterizing?, how much water needed for this.

  • Do u keep the water runing 24/7??

  • Looking at these greens makes me hungry.

  • I am interesting in this programme , what water do we you? or can you explain me about Methodology ?

  • great setup! go vertical for more rows!

  • Correction, the holes in the vinyl rain gutter that I use are 1 3/4". This is just right to drop in an oasis cube 1" or I have found recently that peat pellet starts work just as good or better.

  • nice

  • how long did it take that lettuce to grow?

  • This kind of food grows fast... but ain't healthy at all. Do your research before eating that lettuce.

  • Comment removed

  • @bromoss I have been researching for 30 years. Why do you say that?

  • @bromoss How about citing some specific references instead of this generality. What exactly is "unhealthy" about this "kind of food"?

  • what nutrients or additives do you add to the water

  • @organicheirlooms I use a modified Steiner solution that has been used for 30 + years to grow greenhouse tomatoes, lettuce and strawberries. Formula is Ultrasol 3-15-28 plus calcium nitrate. EC is usually between 0.8 and 1.2. I don't worry about pH too much unless it goes over 7.2. Then a few drops of sulfuric acid takes it down.

  • You are awesome

  • UH-ROO-GUH-LUH!!!!!

  • I saw you cut the roots off. If you leave them on the heads and wrap a wet paper towel around them, they will last 4 weeks in the fridge!

  • Very nice. I love the greenhouse and the hydroponic system. Everything looks so healthy. Keep it up post more.

  • do you have plans for this set up? really nice............

  • And why people who want to buy cannabis MUST intercourse with a mafia, thereby putting themselves at risk and are wary of police persecution? Is it not better if they ACQUIRE Cannabis special place by the State. Where are DIRTY MONEY? Why ordinary people can not engaged in this business, plant seeds, watered, grow, harvest, delivered to the state and thereby earn a living CLEAN MONEY.

  • @TheGanjaClub

Sir, I grow food in my greenhouse, not drugs. I am an activist for decriminalization of marijuana because I don't want people jailed for growing weed. However, at this moment in many places growing pot can get one arrested in the US. I do not want to encourage anybody to use, buy, sell or grow cannabis because it puts you inside a game that exploits a lot of people in a lot of ways.

  • where did you found those tubes with the holes for the plants? i only found normal cylindrical pvc bu this looks better ;)

  • @infectedsilence

    just use a drill

  • @ducked2003 Yes, Duck. I recently made new gutters and simply used a hole saw and drilled 1 1/2 inch holes in some vinyl rain gutter. I added a 45 at end to keep water from going out the back end. Glued it with silicone caulk. Same setup for pumping the solution was used. The rain gutter costs a fraction of buying special gutters from a hydro supply house and shipping them. Plus vinyl really holds up to the sun. Has been working great.

  • amazing!

  • How do you know what to put in the water?

  • @camobrute

if I could, I would say that you should keep correct pH and EC values. Then you should monitor temperature of water. Then you can see changes on plant. Plant need three base elements: N, P and K...................

  • how much does he charge to build green houses

  • This is amazing, i wish i had the time, space and money to do something like this.

  • Great job Romaine look crisp...I'm looking for a crisp romaine with heart , that can grow in the spring , summer, fall , mabe winter ? I'm in canada hey... growing hydroponic lettuce is a new for me , I 'm working on adding this to my existing business of veg growing and flowers. Thanks...video comming soon.

  • Great, congratulate you. I need a such technology. But I need investments. Is anyone intrested to help me in Romania. I have land, I need technology and financing. write to trivale@walla.com to help me.

  • hi. we found the white vinyl gutters at hd, 2"'x 3" in size and they look perfect.

How do you keep the starters from moving around in the hole as the gutters are a bit deep for the 1" square starters? It looks like you used 2" holes, correct? Thanks!

  • That is fantastic!

  • I'd advice using an UV sterilizing lamp to fight against algae, but it would probably also nullify all the benefits given to You by certain bacteria as well.

  • wheres the weed at!?!?

  • The key to success is a good hydroponic nutrient solution. I worked in the fertilizer business for 20 years and created the current formula as a modification of the old Steiner formula. I had some help in tweaking this formula for lettuce or tomatoes and peppers from my old friend, Dr. Pat Hegwood, currently head of hort dept at LSU. The plant food is 3-15-28 Ultrasol used along with Yara uncoated calcium nitrate in a 1:1 volume ratio. I maintain electrical conductivity at about 1.0 mS.

  • @woody3307

Where can the 3-15-28 Ultrasol used along with Yara uncoated calcium nitrate be purchased?

  • I built the greenhouse using a kit from Hoop House, but I built a short wall and mounted the kit to be a few feet higher so you can comfortably walk in it. I anchored it to the concrete driveway so it was a nice clean floor. I recently made a hydroponic system that is very similar (no greenhouse yet) at our new home in Florida. The channels are made of white vinyl rain gutter. I drilled holes with a hole saw on the same spacing and used the same pump and 55 gallon plastic drum.

  • Very nice.

  • You act so surprised when walking into your own garden.

  • Of all the ones I have seen, by far yours is the most appetizing!

  • Hi lala2254, thanks for sharing this wonderful video to the YouTube community. I absolutely adore your greenhouse! Those plants are simply amazing. The lettuces looked really delicious. I must congratulate you and your husband for a job well done! Any tips that you would like to share to us on how to grow beautiful hydroponics plants? Thanks :)

  • Fantastic job, really great growing. Please tell us what the make & midel of the greenhouse is. I read your husband put it together. But this must be a kit that he constructed. Please give us more info on it, and thank you!!

  • incredible, very nice work

  • beautiful job....

  • At 1:18 i nitice your exaust fan, its cheap and unsealed, whereas the rest of your set-up is very advanced, so, uh...wtf? go get you a proper blower cause if that thing fails (and it will outside) you might lose all those awsome vegies...jus sayin...

  • Dang rabbit lady wash that thang off first lol!!

  • Отлично!

  • Good blog! I actually love how it is easy on my eyes and the information are well written. I am wondering how I can be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which ought to do the trick! Have a nice day!

  • Nice greenhouse, beautiful plants. Who are the five dummies that voted it thumbs down?

  • I do something similar but I use my Koi pond water, I run the pond water from the pond to the plants and back to the pond. The plants seem to do great on koi poo and the Koi like having the plants remove nutrients from the water. I pay for fish food and everything else just happens. Before the fish pond was built I used compost tea I had to adjust the Ph with the compost tea but my pond water is allways 7.4 my beans, peas, tomatos, greens, and peppers are thriving.

  • thats a nice greenhouse, but i really think you could be growing so much more food in there if you utilized the space to its max, you should try some vertical growing techniques, and you can hang plants all along from the roof to get even more

  • how natural are those vegetables ?

  • hi i am seeking some advice i am currently working on a hydroponic system growin lettuce i have been facing some difficulties

i live in the Caribbean and it is very hot and the water i store in the hydroponic evaporates easily

i also would like to kno about the ratio of chemical that should b used in the hydroponic

  • I haven't seen lettuce that green and healthy before :(

  • you could grow a lot of hemp in there!

  • Also please check our latest project - a NET ZERO solar Energy Star home at above link to Green Home Building Project contest. Please vote for our house #8 to help us advocate solar and building technologies we used that make houses that produce more clean, green power than they use.

  • I built the greenhouse with a kit form hoop house and some local lumber and a screen door. It took about a week of work.

  • very impressive, that's a whole lot of food

  • Fantastic greenhouse must have cost a fortune and many many hours building. You must be a very beautiful wife for him to do all that work for

  • Looks AWESOME!! I would LOVE to have some collards like that! lol

  • I moved about a year ago and left my beautiful greenhouse behind. However, I am in the process of building a new NFT hydroponic system similar to this one. These old white gutters with the holes broke during the move. They were expensive and didn't hold up to the sun. Therefore, I have just drilled some holes in some VINYL rain gutters that I got at HD for only about $10 each. Initially I started the hydro system with only a shadecloth. More to follow soon. Key is the 3-15-28 formula

  • lucky!

  • the Swiss chard is huge. Beautiful salad leaves too...

really well built greenhouse. I'm a little jealous to be honest.

    keep up the great work

  • If by flush you mean "only feeding the plants water in their final days of life before you harvest them" then I know what you mean.

What nutrients do you feed them and in what dosage (ppm or ec). Is it organic?

  • Thanks for showing us how its done! I modeled my table design after yours with the babys on the first row and the larger plants on the next rows. I also used a seprate water tank for the seedling loop to allow for lower nute levels and possible cloning hormones.

  • I've heard hydro veggies don't taste very good. Can you confirm or deny this?

  • Comment removed

  • What a beautiful greenhouse...good for you to find such a good husband...you don't seem to have been involved in creating the greenhouse...

  • very nice work and i think also very hard work ,,,,,,good luck :)

  • interesting project!

  • Finally, someone with a legit hydroponics garden

  • mam, is the water running 24/7? will it not spoil the roots?

  • There is a venturi in the reservoir that adds 02 to the water. Mixed with nutrient and pH adjuster, the plants thrive.

  • you should grow some cannabis or prime skunk

  • My 9 yr old was so inspired by this, he built his own greenhouse (wood bottom frame, hoop top frame). However, now we have to figure out what exactly to buy for the hydroponics part. I know the Rio Pump 2100 - I checked ebay. And we're buying 2" pvc, but is there anyway you can post the other materials and how to set up??? Thanks so much!

  • its a fun hobby but its both a time and finatial commitment this system looks like a nft (nutrition film technique) an easy one is deep pool or ebb and flow check the web its full of info i dont recomend starting with this particular system

  • @bassklan7 Google AmHydro. They have everything you'll need

  • did you make or buy the systems the plants are growing in

  • how did you build the green house its wicked

  • Just beautiful. Looks like heaven on earth to me!

  • that greenhouse is like a dream :X why you don't grow some pot in it? :P

  • hell yea im looking at ideas to grow pot xd

  • I was not aware that dandelions were edible. I guess you learn something new every day.

  • very nice good to have a healthy system

  • wow very nice i love hydro your garden is very impressive! i loved the babies! im going to build a nursrey too! what size net pots are in the small system??

  • my turtle would love that place

  • they call this tube food

  • how would you start seeds in a system like this?

  • Start seeds in rockwoll and tray

  • grow de herb

  • Beautiful! Loved the video. Made me hungry too. France has LOTS and LOTS of lettuce but romaine sells for 3 euros a head. :( Out of my budget. But I'm enjoying the others. By the way, this is Apryl. Good luck selling the place. I hope it's sold to someone who can appreciate all the hard work you guys have put into it.

  • GROW SOME POT!

  • Very nice.

  • Very nice setup.

    That romain lettuce looks GREAT!

  • From husband: I built a three foot high wall to give height and placed an inexpensive hoop house kit on the wall. It was more carpentry than I wanted, but it turned out OK. The heart of the system is an energy efficient pump, Rio 2100 that I got on eBay from Graystone Industries for about $40. The channels with holes came from American Hydroponics. Some pro growers I know build their own out of 2" PVC.

  • Can you please share more about the rest of the system.....setting up the barrel, tubing, etc and where/how you put this all together? *resources like books, website, etc. please? Thx! I am totally new to this and your set up is very impressive. How much did the whole thing cost?

  • Great Greenhouse. I saw this video on facebook in the Hydroponics group.. Home grown always tastes the best :-)

    Cheers

  • wow very awesome. I definitely like how he built the greenhouse too. This is what I plan to do when I actually acquire my own house and land.

  • Wow! You are living out my dream!!!!

This is what I want...very nice greenhouse...good-looking hydroponic system, & all of your greens look absolutely beautiful!!! I'd love to do this some day. Enjoy!

  • I agree....super nice setup !!

    I'm jealous !

I have romaine and iceburg luttuce in my garden. Check out my video.

  • Very nice setup! Exactly what I want to build.

    Thanks for the post.

  • Great stuff, I've added it to my playlist.
