@FordmanHaulit3002010 Pretty sure the C6 is better but whatever you say. the one in my 95 bronco was in limp mode with no 2nd gear or reverse at 148,000 miles. 1 year only trans too to make things even more fun.

@91CTD The C6 is the best tranny hands down. That's why everyone uses them in dragsters, hell they even hooked one up to a 8v92 twin turbo dragster.

@Hotrodx199 yes c6's, they are good. but because the E4od is "based" off a c6 doesn't make the e4od a good trans (as good as a c6). the reality is the e4od and c6 are a different trans being all electronic and having an overdrive unit. junk in my opinion.

It's like saying a chevy 4l80e is a turbo 400. it took it's place...but it's not really . totolly different valve body setup/ecm and overdrive unit that ends up going bad.

60% of the time the overdrive units on trannies overheat the fluid

@91CTD Such as my A4LD in moms explorer. That was the worst automatic i have ever experienced in my life. IT would go into overdrive as low as 20 mph and it was below 1000 rpms, sometimes when i took if first thing in the morning, it would jump into 3rd pulling out of the driveway, and sometimes at stop signs it would not come out of 3rd or 4th and when you're stopped it would try to push you foward. I pulled the dip stick and the oil was black and it smelled burnt.

@yakpenoose They have built many. 91CTD, and Hotodx199 are both kids, who have never owned but a few vehicles. The C6, and the AOD40, are two of the most highly regarded transmissions used by Ford, ever. The AOD40 had problems at first, but that was all electrical. The A4LD was fine unless you didn't take care of it. All of the newer trannys are better than everything Dodge and Chevy offer.
