So, it has been 4 months and nobody cares about the CORRECT ASPECT RATIO? Not one lousy comment about AR? Wow, you people must really be visually dull... What is happening? Are you people become visual don't-give-a-fuckers?
Seriously, isn't there anybody who is fed up seeing squashed pictures? Nobody, who is concerned about the constant fucking up the aspect ratio?
@whiterottenrabbit During the production of this tutorial, our understanding of proper aspect ratio was not as clear as now. Indeed, there are proper procedure to make a sequence matches the aspect ratio of the imported video.
Uhm, well, not exactly the comment I was waiting for, but nonetheless... I think, I should apologize for my raw language. I just am really pissed off be this ubiquitous videos, where faces are unnaturally stretched, cars have oval wheels and the Moon is a goddamn ellipse. The funny thing is, that some people don't even realize that the picture is squeezed. They simply cannot comprehend visual deformation. Wouldn't it be interesting to investigate this phenomenon scientifically?
@whiterottenrabbit Ya there are people who just don't care lol. But I think most amature video maker just simply don't know what settings to used. Many will simply go by trial and error until they get the proper settings.
hi there, i dont want to use 4th way, as it will cut some stuff out, but i recorded a game play in 16:10 but i cant see anywhere in CS4 to change it to 16:10, i only see 16:9, got any ideas?
I am by no means an expert, but WTF @ 1:35? You tell people, that they can uncheck the box next to Uniform Scale? That will most certainly lead to videos with incorrect aspect ratios! Why would anybody want to intentionally distort the picture? Also, there are people, who don't even notice, that the picture is squeezed or squashed. Pardon my French, but then they fuck up the aspect ratio, don't give a fuck about that and I have to watch their shitty video? Way to go!
this looks like it'll solve all my problems thanks for posting buddy :)

Well, if you're interested, there is a blog which discusses the Aspect Ratio Fail. Just google for "are some people just visually dull".

that dosnt work when i do it in pro 7. How come?
I expand the 4.3 images into a 16.9 (this is in a 16.9 project setting)
but when i export it, the image is squashed back into 4.3.
Do you know why this is?

PRO 7?
Is there a Adobe Pro 7? lol
In any case. I would tend to use the 4th step: Free Transform. It is easier and versatile.

there is indeedy.
Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0
i did try the expand also,i have kinda given up now as that didnt work either.

I can't offer any solutions for the issue on Pro 7.
I did some research on Pro 7. I think I've tried it some time ago lol.
However, when I tried Pro 2.0 I liked it better than Pro 7. Stability, rendering, etc
