so i am a complete noob and bought my first little $17 pack of russian soldiers today. does it matter if i have 6 people for an infantry base? thanks.
the videos are great but the problem is it's expencive i am from croatia and i just can order it on the internet. in croatia 50 dolars are a lot it's 250 kuna and the minimum wage i think is 3000 kuna so it's a lot
@MrConsumerWhore1 it takes $ to make games that could be played all over the world. you need people to ,make the models buy the programes, pay them wages online ads etc. its not gorribly designed. the rule book is one of the best ive seen. in games workshop 40k the back of the rule book is usless bc it goes by letter like in alphabetical order insted of situation prity much. ya IM mad that i spent money to supporting the economy and enjoy the game rather than spending my time making rules......
I really like the rules, much better than Rapid Fire. I've spent a lot of time collecting 20mm WW2 and I didn't want to start from scratch with 15mm but it's simple to convert FoW to 20mm scale. I'm now looking for good reviews on game play.
@TheTerrainGuy if you look at the site and go to there online store, a board with a small platoon with what seems to be a transport vehicle, is 120$... I find that honestly over priced.
@KillaMinis And who would give a flying fuck about the army men you use? Army men are used in actual strategy tables as well. (Cough) Real war (Cough)
@PhioenixPinion Its the materials needed to build a large board, the scenery and paints alone are hugely over expensive, look around you can find the same things like trees etc that are like a tiny fraction of the price , only differance is they arent packaged for mini wargaming (like kids play things), its unfortunate they exploit persons interested in this sort of stuff.
@PhioenixPinion Well here's the thing. These models are made of metal, real metal. Its a mix of aluminum and some sort of steel I believe. The models are also extremely detailed, with the fact that you have to paint each one yourself meaning millions of ways you can customize your troops. A full army that you would have EVERYTHING YOU WOULD EVER NEED range from around $200-$600. Compared to card games and video games, these will last forever when you have one thing finished.
@NominusTheWise Actually, you don't have to have any specific number of the stands, its the stand size that is important, or if you have a specific type of figure on the base, ie. Flame Thrower or Panzerfaust.
hey mr. terrain guy thanks i killed my american freind with my german mortor units u helped me alot thanks and is there any german sturmmen truppen units?
hey mr. terrain guy, i have a question. on average, what is the cheapest army to get a legal army, and another question i have is if its easy to get over the learning curve.
Hey, just wanted to say great work on these vids. Thanks to your vids before this involving FOW I got even more interested in the FOW game and these vids made me wanna try it more. Been doing 40k for 10 years and it would be nice to try something else. And by the way, when will video 4 be up? =)
Nice work Shawn! Looking forward to the rest of these videos ... will try to catch you on Skype on saturday, i got a webcam and want to show you what Ive been working on re: our project.
Thanks for doing these instructional videos Shawn. I love all your terrain vids, but there is a real lack of videos about the game itself on youtube, so I am looking forward to these!
So start playing, and get others involved. I started myself and others started with me, and I found other players that started coming out of the wood work.
No Problem, it's nice you try to make to community bigger, because a lot of people don't know it or don't like it, but the game is much better than any game GW ever made (imho)...

Wait, excuse me, as I look at your wargaming videos, the boards are gorgeous, so that must be why there so high priced.
PhioenixPinion 1 year ago
Are these things like overly priced? Because I see on the site, a board + a platoon is 120$....
Honestly, I can do this with army men at a small price of like 5$.
