I played polo at UC Davis. The horses LOVE it. They get really excited when they know it's time to play. They are very well taken care of.

Holy smokes!!! These guys must be talented. I thought golf was hard enough but this is like playing golf on a horse with a moving ball!!!

i play polo during summer in argentina, and i feel whenever i go horses aproach to me with afection and willing to play... i really belive horses love playing and love running

I really don't approve of this sport... I know I'm going to catch crap for this, and yes I am a horse person and yes I have done research and watched games, I just don't like how a lot of the teams treat their horses. Maybe it come from me being in a one horse sport, I don't know, it just seems very violent and dangerous for both the rider and horse, also the horses I saw seemed very unwilling. (which I understand can happen in any sport)

@vaultingdiva yes its dangerous but only like every other equestrian sport. and the horse falls in polo are propably alot easier on the horse than in jump racing or eventing. as for violent yes it is but i guess sport always is when contact is allowed like american football or rugby

@ginnie321 Oh I agree. I just hate to see animals forced into a dangerous sport. :( We take a lot of time to see if our horses will make it and like their job, but again, I guess its the same here.
