the idea of old gods does have to go; they are violent, irrational, and primitive, just like the primitive people who created them. but, the modern concept of god, put forth by theists who follow no religious sect, is quite logical in many ways. with concepts like the oscillating universe becoming more unlikely, and new developments in baffling links between quantum mechanics and a conscious observer, atheists, including myself, must rethink, or perhaps reopen to some kind of creator.
determine the universe sprung from quantum foam and rapidly expanded? Where did u get that statement from? it is not the wide mainstream view of modern cosmology only a tiny minority of speculation which ultimatly leads to its own theological problems..
You spit uneducated anti religious babble at a level worse than dawkins if thats possible. Face it you have no understanding of religion
youve clearly stated that it has been determined the universe sprung from quantum foam when in fact that has not been determined lol it is a minoroty speculation in the Cosmological community.
Theology and science stand hand in hand it is only a new age attemp to use Science as a stand alone method, however the scientific method cannot be applied to many of things which we accept rationally therefor it Cannot be the more plausible explination in Every case, specifically in reguards to Origins
@askegg Utter Bullshit? modern science is only reaping the benifits of generations of theorists and the rationalities they have established in science.
science cannot prove metaphysical truths. it cannot prove mathematical or logical truths it assumes them. Ethical oppinions of value, aesthetic judjments and science itself is established on unprovable rationalities science cannot prove science.. Theology and science are equally reliant on each other..
@askegg and yes i do have a better idea where the singularity came from, however i would not go and falsify its validity by advertising to innocent people that it has been "DETERMINED" that is a lie. Quit whining about liars and fraud and look at yourself first. Scientist should realise the value of their professional oppinions and how it can mislead the public in a devistating manor. science could claim anything unjustly and the public would believe it, its just a form of intelectual control
@acceptjesusorburn "however i would not go and falsify its validity by advertising to innocent people that it has been "DETERMINED" that is a lie."
Oh I see. Your all pissy because I used models which made predictions which have been experimentally verified and placed into a cohesive, non-contradictory framework. You don't want to reveal your batty ideas because you know they are not falsifiable, and therefore can never be wrong.

wow youve just assumed my oppinion before i even mentioned it... your nothing short of an angry hypocrytical religios hating athiest im sorry that i tried to reason with a brick wall
@acceptjesusorburn "science could claim anything unjustly and the public would believe it..."
No - only an idiotic public which has routinely swallowed dogma for generations and has lost the ability to think critically. Religion anyone? It will dull your pain.
@askegg ok so your either admitting that the public are in fact "an idiotic public which has routinely swallowed dogma for generations and has lost the ability to think critically, due to religion" and therefor subject to manipulation via the scientific community ,OR your must say that science is not guilty of this however you must declare that religions innocense since you have charactarised the "publics nature" in relation to religion as a part of your conclusion
@acceptjesusorburn Are you really this stupid? I am saying only an uncritical public will blindly swallow ANYTHING said to them - science included. Thing is, in every case I have investigated science has shown me the reasons why they came to conclusions and religion has done the exact opposite.
@askegg your statement does not contradic what i initially stated.. i have not revealed my religious views you have only assumed them, your response is nothing but an unintellectual religious hate statement. you are irrational
Scary, Askegg. What's interesting is the hubris of anyone thinking who believes in a deity that they should know what does and does not matter to it/him/her. Nice video--nicely paced with the music.
@farvision I think "Answers" in Genesis made that ad. They actually had billboards with the shot of the kid aiming at the camera, with the words "If god doesn't matter to him, why should you?" (IIRC).
Funny how shit like that is perfectly OK, yet if some atheists put up a billboard saying "You can be good without god." or "Don't believe in god? You are not alone.", people go apeshit, deface the billboards, and make death threats.
Hi the good news bible magazine advert. the United Church of God. More of the usual we are being supreesssed by evil scientisssssts. askegg its the advert powered by google on your video.
Beautiful-but so misleading. We can respect each other and work together for the common good without being divided by ancient mythologies or ugly new dogma. On every day when tragic and hateful events occur, many other small events of of peace, joy and human solidarity are taking place. People are providing for one another, teaching each other and doing good in their communities. Many of them do not share your belief system, but they do good anyway.
It's interesting to watch this wonderful piece and list the situations caused by religious zealousy. Not all mind you, but many. Man is such a weak creature, with so much going for him, but not able to escape superstition and deism long enough to save himself from annihilation. The movement afoot of trying to rid this planet of sky daddy worship is truly necessary and justified.
No icon or holly cross may dare bring so much joy into ones heart as the vastness of the Universe, of human thought and perseverance, of the diversity of life on planet Earth and, who knows, on other planets.
I am fast becoming aware that no matter the circle or group you belong too, there is always conflict based on the people, not the ideals.
It is plain to see that Humans justify destructive ideals based on thier own prejudicies despite being religious. Atheists ideals have been know to do this also.
The Holy books are like prehistoric "Word Association" tests, same as politial doctrines. If a human uses religion to justify destruction, it only reflects the human!
Oh gag, the good news magazine advert. Took me a moment of suspicion eying it to determine if it was a religion-spoof or not. Since it has a "speak no evil" chimp on it it fit in with your own chimp icon enough for me to read it thoroughly to be sure. Moments wasted. ;-)
Above the comments box youtube has an advertising box. It generates ads based off, I assume, the tags for your video.
In the instance where I was watching it, it popped up an ad for the Xtian publication: "Good News Magazine" which happened to be using the image of a "speak no evil" chimpanzee. That chimp image being similar to your own "hear no evil" (and me being blood tired) confused me momentarily. Although, lucky break for them that they had such a well-matched ad-image.
I am me, and I am everything, all at the same time..The atoms in me are in reality, and the atoms in reality, are in me..

Yeah - because things that cannot be proven look identical to things that do not exist.
"Theology and science are equally reliant on each other"
Science explains reality, theology assume there is more reality than can be known and explain the way it works.
