I've got plenty of photo's of it developing, I will give them to a friend who is a launch engineer at Nasa and see what they think. Personally I think it was a reaction to the contrails of the rocket and different temps, will keep you posted

Thanks, just missed the launch, did you see the cloud formation to the east at about 540 onwards, looked like the northern lights ?

Yes, that cloud was very strange looking, I watched it for several minutes.
