  • Oh adolescence, I do not miss you at ALL.

  • It's almost like the teacher let it happen...

  • Talk about going overboard with the punishment! I can understand them getting back at her in some way, but I think they really pushed it too far. I'd be so embarrassed & upset if I was in Harriet's position while everyone surrounded me laughing & smearing the paint, but I would absolutely love giving Marion a good smack in the face!

  • I'd love to get dumped on like that. I'm in the upper midwest. Sounds like fun.

  • wow! the 90s was a great time for kids. I remember seeing this movie in theaters.

  • !@ERAUPRCWA HAHA me too! My dad won tickets to an advance screening, i also won a 'Harriet the spy kit' from Nickelodeon.

  • Thanks to Michelle Trachtenberg, I got a foot fetish. And by the way it's a good thing Harriet bitchslapped that whore.

  • Thats sad

  • harriet is very brave.and she slapped that bitch good!!

  • omg me and my friends broke our vhs by rewinding the slap part. lols.

  • The teacher was a cunt. And Harriet owned that bitch!

  • Omg this scene would get me so PISSED OFF as a kid. I'm so happy Harriet slapped that girl.

  • Yeah, that's me most of my life, but it didn't get any better.

  • harriet is a very dignified girl. she punk ass slapped that bitch!!!

  • "That wasn't very dignified." Neither was pouring paint on her bitch!

  • i always hated the teacher >_>

  • the moral of this movie is PAYBACK IS A BITCH!!! dont fuck with harriet LMAO

  • whats the name of the song? when shes looking through the book?

  • two of those kids are supoosed to be her best friends - i'd push them in front of a bus for doing that shit to me. i really would.

  • I have this movie and book!!!

  • that wasn't very dignified ;P

  • Believe it or not I watch this when it was in theaters and I was like wat 2 or 3 years old and all I can remember (befor watching the whole movie again, age 7) is 0:40 when she dip herself in the tub but I taught the water was blue paint lol

  • 1:55-1:57

    Yeah! Slap that bitch!

  • keep playing 1:56!

  • Comment removed

  • This was the time where child actors actually had talent!!!!

  • Michelle tractenberg is Jewish and so am I her aunt was my Hebrew school teacher same last name 2!

  • I would be like "NO! NO! TOUTCH ME ONE MORE TIME TIME IN SUEING YOU ALL FOR SEXUAL HARRSMENT! and teacher! your just staying there not doing anything?! you people are sicking....."

  • I HATE THAT BITCH THAT THINKS SHE'S SO PERFECT!!!!

I BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HER IF SHE WAS A MAN! lol

  • lol my sister made me watch this movie today shes 5 i always hated that girl but then when she slapped her i was like YEAH

  • It breaks my heart that they wouldn't let her write her feelings anymore and she needed an outlet so much that she coded it on the corners of her notebook paper.

  • I despise this movie. It's so fucking mean spirited, it makes "Saw" look like "Yo Gabba Gabba."

  • @Nanaman12345 that's childhood.

  • @adelphahighbrow Exactly. Do you REALLY wanna see it happen again?

  • @Nanaman12345 Art imitates life. I love stories. Censored stories can never really bring you to a veritable place when you read them/watch them/open them so I enjoyed hating those children along with Harriet. I think the movie is a masterpiece.

  • @adelphahighbrow Agreed, until it feels out of place. "Harriet" is a child friendly film for most of the movie. But it's scenes like this that don't match up. They're TOO dark for the surrounding content.

  • did anyone else noticed she said oops before she spilled it? 1:18

  • @noobface37 She said that so she wouldn't get in trouble.

  • @Nanaman12345 she said oops BEFORE she spilled it

  • @Nanaman12345 I watched it for the first time when I was 8. The "darkness" you feel about the bullying is what I and many other children feel and felt when being exposed to cruelty from other children for the first time (and Hollywood has nothing on the inherent evil inside children). I think people are too protective of children. There is suffering in childhood and if we don't accept it and sweep it under the rug we can't expose to them how to cope with it.

  • @Nanaman12345 theres a party in my tummy so yummy so yummy! lol jk

  • I think I've watched this movie like 100 times. Go Harriet The Spy!

  • Greg Smith is so cute!

  • i remember the vhs was orange to this movie

  • @91latinking lol i have it its orange with nick printed on it

  • @noobface37 lol yea i used to have it

  • They worsened that mess on purpose! Why, those dirty bastards!

  • I love this movie as a kid I wore it out, I still love it. :)

  • Harriet was and still is my hero!

  • Those kids are fucking mean to her they didn't help Harriet they just keep on pouring paint on her til' her clothes get dirty and Harriet bitch slapped the girl that was awesome that's whut she get for making Harriet so damn mad

  • this is my favorite movie!

  • SHES AN AVATAR

  • Remind me of something that happen in highschool, also in art class but it wasn't paint but liquid clue...

  • It is so weird how young they look.

  • So mean! This movie was very depressing.

I was actually 11 when I first watched it and I was actually laughing at Harriet being bullied. I feel so guilty now.

The best part is when she takes revenge. My favourite part was when she cut the girl's hair LOL

  • hot

  • it was soooo funny when she slaped her!!

  • lol born in 1990 represent!

  • well this sums up my childhood.

  • I really want to know what book Harriet is reading...

  • That teacher was AMAZING i mean WOW she really helped Harriet :P She absolutely controlled the kids, i mean, WOW if i was a teacher i would have SO done the same thing! (if u think i mean this for real (that shes a gud teacher) please go and get urself checked u may have a problem :P)

  • that is so rude,i would have done the same thing:slap her straight in the face :)

  • ooh angst

  • I could just replay that slap scene over and over. Go Harriet!

  • Read the book. It's wonderful

  • lol Avatar

  • Ugh, reminds me of my elementary/junior high days. Kids were horrible to me. I remember once when getting stuck with a kid in a class project who bullied me, trying to defend myself before could he tease me or hurt me and I got in trouble for it. All I said was "You better not be mean to me and watch out" or something like that.

So stupid her best friends were a part of this. They shouldn't have turned against her (for what she had written about them in her notebook).

  • Another time, I got paired with another bully for a project and I got really upset...and I got in trouble. The teacher assigned me to write an apology letter. In the letter, I explained that I've been bullied over and over by the classmate who I got paired with and others. After the teacher read it, she cried and was sorry for not knowing sooner. I've always hated it whenever I got paired with someone who I know would make trouble for me. Growing up sucks. I'm glad I'm no longer a kid

  • What do you call the music from 2:04 from 2:10?

  • i cried during this scene. it was so sad!

  • I saw this movie today after first seeing it when I was 7. Boy, what a time-flash. I loved it all over again. It felt so real and it wasn't trying to pretend to be something it wasn't, like Disney's new version. Great characters and Harriet is pretty likeable too. I loved this scene, that girl deserved that paint slap.

  • Michelle Trachtenberg is the best!

  • The Teacher Is A Dumb Douche. "That's It. Let's Work Together" Yea , Work Together To Make Her Look Like A Smurf.

  • i wouldve done more than slap that girl!!!

that..omg that makes me so mad!!!!!

    so evil!

  • you know, I know Harreit wrote some mean things about her frieneds, but thats just cold what they just did to her, but.. that was just cold. If Iwere her i would have never apologized

  • I am watching this movie now! I love this movie cause it has alot of drama and conflict!!!!

I never really understood this as a kid tho.

  • how evil......=o

  • tht was the worst form of bullying (apart from phisical) tht i have ever seen, how mean and evil, if i was her, id run as well and refuse to go back

  • o my, wot horrible bullying....i wude of punched marion until she bled to death, nd wen they all started rubbing the paint together i wude of screamed and ran for it, if i had a life like tht id probably hang myself

  • omg! that teacher is so stupid! harrietsaid stop! and the teacher didnt do anything! and i wouldnt of slaped thatgirl! oh i would beat the crap out of her!

  • Why does she scrub her foot at the end?

  • @alexander3826 it was a mark that her and her friends shared

  • @LorienoftheBlossom

Thanks! I saw the mark at the beginning of the movie but I never noticed on her foot as she scrubs it (I thought it was hilarious when they pretended to vomit at the sight of Marion Hawthorne!).

  • Btw, the teacher isn't helping the kids-she thinks they're trying to clean Harriet up and that's what she was doing.

  • God, Marion-what a bitch. I was always bullied in elementary school so I understand this so well. That's a great scene-I really wish the rest of the movie was on youtube. D:

  • 5th graders know the word dignified?! oh marion you brat.

  • what did the five fingers say to the face? SLAP!

  • ha ha ha ha

  • This is exactly the way 4th grade was for me. Kids can be so cruel. But teachers are worse. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

  • Who played Harriet?

  • michelle trachtenberg played harriet

  • the slap was epic... too bad it wasnt red paint!!

  • poor harriet. i know how she feels :-( grade school was no fun for me either....

its still probably a good thing that harriet doesnt have a death note, right? hehe.

  • WTF was the teacher doing, she was helping the bullies

  • Kids can be the meanest people on this earth.

  • harriet the spy blog wars WTF ? This is the harriet the spy movie!

  • Wouldn't that ruin the bathtub?

  • Not if they clean it with clorox bathtub!!

  • "Well that wasn't very dignified." LMAO

  • OoOoOoOh I loved this movie so much!!

  • slap that bitch!

  • I LOVED THIS MOVIE SOOO MUCH WHEN I WAS A KID!!!!! anyone else remember having the "secret spy markers" that came with the movie?!? ohh good times [:

  • i love that slap scene

  • however i would have instead broken her face, it woud be so worth it

  • this scene made me really mad when i was younger, but then it was like SLAP

    thas right bitch! lol

  • wow, good job teacher, you really controlled the classroom-im saying this with sacasism

  • @isiahg no shit

  • @isiahg yeah, it's a caricature of what children think teachers are like.

  • i'd be sooo mad at the teacher for letting the kids and herself do that, be like i told you to just take her notebook not torture her.

  • who knew back when this was released that she is going to be a hot bitch

  • haha ill always think of michelle as harriot the spy..

    :D

  • She is soo pretty!!!I remeber when I first watch this I was sneaking around my neibor taking notes on random things and pretending to be a spy!! haha

  • OMG, i love Michelle Tractenberg she is so pretty and i love how she acts

  • My fav Nick movie, due to this I started to write.

  • I never knew she was in a movie before buffy!!

  • hell yeah, slap that bitch good. NICE harriet. you did a slap for all of us gurl!!!

  • she should have kept on going.. I would have.

  • I so want to smack this bitch I hate at school for ruining my reputation and chance with this boy I liked. I basically went through the same Harriet did.

  • Marion Hawthorne reminds me of those teacher's pet-kind of kid that ALWAYS wants to be in control.

I agree with you, zcm007attack. If that girl dumped that paint on me, I would probably slam her, with my fists AND the can of blue paint.

  • same her i'd smack the paint can at her and the teacher. i dont blame hariet for getting back at them, i would too she did try to stand back and they made it worse

  • All I can think is "Columbine".

  • me too

  • I used to watch this show everytime it was on TV! Never knew it was Michelle Trachtenberg acting in it until now.

    :P

  • Harriet, here's a word of advice from someone who's been through much the same. Act like you like it. It pisses them off so much...

  • Does anyone know the name of the song in the sequence?

  • i was watching this in school and when harriet slapped her everyone clapped and cheered xD

  • i saw this at the movies and just wanted to beat marion up so bad lol

  • Marion..definitely got owned and looking at this part now you can see the suicidal tendencies but when i was little i didn't make the connection

  • Go Harriet

  • lol. i watched this movie so many times when i was a kid. it always rubbed me the wrong way though.

  • I love love love love love this movie!

and when harriet slapped her! that was EPIC!

    <333333

  • if i were harriet i would have taken that blue paint can and wacked marion over the head with it instead of just slapping her.

  • I love this movie..

  • this movie is the best movie iv ever seen in my life as a child i love it

  • Harriet The Spy was everywere on Nickelodeon in 1996.

  • yep, i won a "harriet the spy kit" from nickelodeon, it was so cool.

  • This movie is great I haven't seen it in a very long time.Everyone has gone through a point in life when it seems like everyone hates you. This movie is soo awesome.

  • i always though the actress who plays Marion was sooooo pretty when i was a kid, she grew up to be a beautiful woman!

  • i will bitch slap them all!!!!!!!

i used to get bullied a lot but not anymore!

  • i used to love this movie as a kid!!

it's one that i really remember well

  • Watching this now that I'm older is a bit different. As a little kid it never crossed my mind that someone would kill themselves on purpose (how innocent a childs mind can be), but watching Harriet hop into the tub makes me think that it is indeed a metaphor for suicide as Lemurido put.

Also, I never read the letters on the notebook as she flipped them but now I see that it spells " Everybody hates me"

That's just heartbreaking. I think everyone has been bullied as a child. I know I was.

  • i was wondering what the letters spelled, i always thought she just did that to act like she's busy with the notebook

  • Love this movie. I was 15 at the time it was shown on a flight from Singapore to New Zealand. Was bullied pretty much at school before then, had friend issues! I must say, when I saw this movie, I fell in love with Michelle instantly! She's still a goddess to me!

  • ITS SILLY

  • SO SILLY HAHAHAHA

  • its funny but sad

  • My mom took me to see this in the theatre when I was 10. I've loved it ever since. When Harriet jumped in the tub, I thought she was going to kill herself, it was pretty intense, they need more children's movies like this. Today's kids are sheltered and coddled too much...

  • I have this movie on DVD, thanks to Wal-Mart and I do not regret this purchase :D

Love this movie, it was one of my favorites, along with Matilda, when I was little.

  • yeah, Harriet the Spy, Matilda, Jumanjii, Hunchback (disney cartoon version) and Hook are my favs :)

The 90s were a great time to be a kid!

  • that girl marion is a BITCH!!!!

  • Totally!

  • tell me about it!

  • i love the movie good memories

  • I've always seen this scene as a metaphor for suicide. I don't mean Harriet wanted to kill herself, but it may represent that.

  • great movie i still love it staring a very young michelle tractenberg aka dawn summers from buffy

  • does she gain psychic powers and kill everyone like Carrie did?

  • See the movie to find out.

  • man if i was harriet i would have beat that girls but lol ! ! ! ! i loved this movie when i was little it still is kool ! ! ! !

  • Why couldn't she have just gone to the office and called her parents to pick her up instead of having her run home?

  • Why did they pour paint on Harriet?

  • I don't know why. All I know is everyone kept picking on Harriet ever since Marion revealed to all her classmates about the things she wrote in her notebook.

  • They said they were gonna get her good

  • Yeah I luv the revenge sequence. Why is Marion Hawthorne always the class president, she is the most spiteful and mean girl in the class!

  • never mind.someone already did.

    thanks! codogan38555

  • someone pleaseeee post the whole movie!!

I haven't seen it in a long time
