  • To be honest I´m a little bit jealous that you had that great experience!!!! It´s an amazing footage, the sound, the nice sharp pictures!!! Thanks a lot for sharing! I LOVE huge planes! And this one is a beast!!!

  • awesome footage

  • i need the on bord radio frequenzes. Please help

  • thats some huge bitch!!!!!MAGNIFICENT PLANE!!!

  • The wierd taxi route is probabbly due to weight limits on specific taxiways and the large turing radius of the plane.

  • Всем большой привет от русских! :)

  • Magnificent.

  • mmm yummy. imagine having this as one of your big toys!

  • is this MHT?

  • Manchester England dont think you could fit this @MHT

  • It can indeed mate, Manc chester is a fully fledged international airport with standard legnth runways, which the antanov can take off and land on with no problem as they were incorporated into design considerations.

  • i live under Manchester ILS. i saw this go over i pooed my pant's

  • i was there on the day to vc10s came in from cyprus

  • Just coming home from work today we saw this beast parked up at Schiphol. That thing is enormous.

  • I have never heard such a boooooooooring sound when the Antonov 225 took off!

  • them engines could easily suck u in from 10 metres away!

  • what does it carry?

  • God has given man such an amazing mind to invent things like this.. How they can manage to get something so LARGE into the air like that is simply amazing

  • If your interested in seeing the AN225, take a trip to PIK in Scotland where it flies in weekly, aswell as the Dreamlifter

  • Other planes have to wait 5 minutes before they may take off at thesame track, because of the turbulence the Antonov produced!

  • How do these Planes anage to take off awsome video thanks

  • ohh right thx

  • at manchester airport does the antanov come in on mondays?

  • This is the only time the Antonov 225 has ever been to Manchester Airport. There has been know indication of the aircraft making a return any time soon.

  • the worlds biggest plane....

  • It`s like a f*cking earthquake when it takes off

  • i would be scared to fly it thinking that the damn wings would snap off.

  • How many of these were built and how many are still in service? Awesome airplane. I thought the Lockheed C5 Galaxy was pretty awesome but this thing is in a league all to itself. Hell, it probably has its own timezone. Half of its weight at takeoff is probably fuel.

  • This is the only one in the world. A second one is currently under construction, but whether or not it will be completed is a different story. On a full load it can way up to 600tons as far as I know. its Length is 275ft and wingspan 290ft. Truely the worlds largest aircraft

  • @walshy3000 ive heard that the second 225 is gonna be build with in a few years

  • Great video, amazing plane thanks for not spoiling it with music!

  • theres a viewing park aswell mate its down the road of the pub but you have to pay and u cn see concord

  • wow.....i would love to see one of these on real life. i just want to stand next to it

  • hey man that plane flew over my house i live right near manchester airport

  • it was probably mad loud right?

  • Ha, great... I was controlling it on South TWR when she departed. Nice.

  • I would love to see one of these for real. When did this happen? I used to go to Manchester Airport regularly to watch the planes, but I never saw one of these.

  • Was back in October last year. Was taking stage equipment to Africa as far as i know. Stopping at Tripoli first.

  • your right Walshy, it was taking stage equipment to Africa, i am lead to beleive it was the stage gear of Beyonce and another top U.S male music artist either Nelly or Jay-z after their gig at the M.E.N. As for the strange route it was because it was the only safe taxi way, any other and it would have clipped other jets.great vid.

  • Thought it might have been that. Was great catching this giant. For years I was wanting to see this up close.

  • planes are a she not a he ust like ships

  • lol whos 'she'

  • What was it waiting for? She must have burned at least a few thousand gallons holding on rwy24.

  • She was just getting ready, some times when shes got a full load, they hold on the brakes for quite some time and basically make sure the engines are handeling the power up safely, because if something goes wrong on the take off run with this, its going to overshoot, the V1 would literally be last minute with her on this runway. It completely dried a quarter of 24L when this happened.

  • I also forgot to include, ive edited this vid down. she was holding for about 4mins longer

  • can someone please tell me how to get to that spotting hill!, i tried to get to it the other day and i followed the country roads and my map but we seemed to be going further away from the airport!, is it only staff who get acessed that view or can people go in?

  • I never know where to go to watch the planes taking off but apparently there's a pub next the runway. Or so i've heard. Anyone know where that is?

  • There is a fabulous 'Aviation Viewing Park' on the north side of the runways. It's signposted from the Hyde Junction (not sure which number) of the M56. It costs £3 for each car (& driver) plus £1 for every extra person aged 4 and over in the car. There are food and drink facilities, toilets, a model shop and Concorde G-BOAC is on permanent display. Have a look on GoogleEarth.

    Ned

  • cheers. I'll try that one out

  • yeah its called the air port its a good place to watch landings!!

  • There is a pub called The Airport i think, its Ok but not that good. The Aviation Viewing Park is really good. But I shot this on a public park type of thing on the opposite side of the airport by 23L

  • i was there 1 day before it tookoff i was going on my holidays to Finland skiing and it was parked on the western apron and just the sheer size of the thing blows you away. there were police and loads of vircles surrounding it :)

  • bloody hell

  • Where did u video this from?( I have been to manchester aviation park. This is even closer to the planes)

  • flippin''eck how many wheels you need luv

love the winglets on the elevator :P

  • WOW!!! :@

  • I think this plane took FEMA trailers to New Orleans

  • haha i wudnt doubt it.

  • I like how the guy goes

    "Bloody hell"

Then the atc go "That was a biggun wasn't it"

  • notice how it uses up most of manchester's runway 24l to take - off on!

  • Ye it was crazy, but isnt a suprise really, she was full. Still cant get used to the new runway headings, its so strange they've changed to 05L 23R, 05R 23L

  • I saw this at Manchester, i went through T2 on my way home from Dubai, just stood and stared at it for a while. AWESOME machine

  • Does anybody know when the An-225 is next arriving or departing from Manchester

  • No idea, this was the first time it had ever been to MAN. If it ever does come back, it probably wont be for a long time.

  • One of engineerings greatest achievements. absolutely AWESOME, just how do they actually get off the ground is beyond belief. as the guy on here says "bloody hell" my words exactly.

  • haha did the ATC say "well that used it all" lol she is a great plane lol manchester ringway :D gr8 airport

  • flippin' 'eck how many wheels you need luv

love the winglets on the elevator :P

  • Actually they're not winglets... they're vertical stabilizers...

  • i'd love to fly that beast, can you imagine the adrenalin when you've opended up all 6 engines to full throttle, ahhh the world of dreams....nice vid

  • People in Manchester don'y have an idea of what sunshine is. Not to oddend, you are great chaps living in an impossible land. Out-of-sight shot.

  • I know, the weather is terrible more often than not. I dont actually live in Manchester but like anyone into aviation that does not live that far away, I had to make the trip to see this aircraft.

  • Love the shot of the antonov and the concorde in the background! two classics together!

  • what a beast!

  • Taxi route could be due to taxiway restrictions. Why does it still have shuttle humpbacks? Does it still carry cargo on its back? What was it doing in Manchester?

  • who ever hires them

  • People with too much money like snoop dogg, beyonce, and Jay-Z who used this out of Manchester to transport there stage over to lagos. Also companies that produce huge turbines that need them transporting quick etc.

  • I can barely afford a piston I couldn't even imagine how much this one is. nice video thanks for sharing

  • Taxi route could be due to taxiway restrictions. Why does it still have shuttle humpbacks? Does it still carry cargo on its back? What was it doing in Manchester? Anybody knows what it costs to rent it?

  • geeks dream!!

  • lol damn rite

  • Just compare the size of the An-225 with the marshall guide car. Amazing!

  • There has only ever been 1 in service, as you say the 2nd is only partially built and is in storage at Kiev. Therefore it couldn't have been the 2nd at LPL as Walshy3000 pointed out.

As far as I'm aware the An-225 has never visited LPL due to runway restrictions, but the An-124 has quite a number of times.

  • There are 2 AN 225s the other has only 4 engines and is in storage in Kiev, I was on this flight on the way to Nigeria

  • I was behind one of these landing at Liverpool Airport some years ago. Needless to say I had to leave a fair bit of time for vortex seperation. I then had to wait on the runway for it to taxi past as it's not the speediest of aircraft on the ground. A great sight though.

  • cool, u sure it wasnt a AN-124? I know one has gone into LPL quite a few times, theres only one AN-225

  • I wonder how it lifts itself to air!!! A great aircraft!

  • thrust

    lots and lots of thrust

  • wow what a great aircraft.. couldnt get to see it myself so thanks :)

  • very nice!
