However, I will say that before ANYONE decides to talk about racism on any level, they should certainly do an extensive amount of research beforehand. As people who've been raised in an institutionalized racist America, how much can we even talk about race and/or racism when we don't even really see it play out to it's fullest each and every day?

I call a dog a dog and a cat a cat, etc. Just because a person says another has "used the race card" does not necessarily mean they have some deep rooted or hidden racism. It is what it is. I am in no way saying that racism is gone. Far from it. What I AM saying is that black people use the "race card" to be racist themselves.

In early america there were white and black slaves. In africa there were more blacks slaves owned by blacks then there were in america owned by whites. I saw the video again this morning Cindy. It perpetuates double standards. Its only natural for people to be fearful at times of all strangers its a defense mechanism. Defense mechanisms are built into us for a reason. To protect ourselves. The video to me exploits the human response of having a defense mechanism and encourages others to let there guard down, something in this day and age, you do not do.

I wholeheartedly agree, there is indeed such a thing as white stereotyping, and this notion of the "scared of black men white woman" is one of them, it's a myth, the reality is that in all groups there are different kinds of people, some are shy, some are nervous, some are easily frightened, it's a personality question, not a race matter, an individual woman who happens to be white and gets nervous of young black men will be a nervous person in general, that's the real issue, not his color.
