  • I was on Rum last week and saw a couple of these beauties while walking from Harris to Papadil around the sea-cliffs at the foot of Ruinsival. One of them flew in off the sea, following the Abhainn Fiachanais stream, if I've got my geography right. While we were watching it another one came up from the stream gorge and they both flew off inland.

Amazing creaturesm, and an amazing place!

  • i watch this video with a mixture of fear and awe. is that Askival in the background? if it is, is was there where I, nine years ago, discovered I had vertigo about 20 yards from the top. i want to go back and conquer my fear there, but seeing it behind that beautiful eagle scares the hell out of me! but if my memory serves me correctly, mightn't that be a different peak, and Askival is actually further behind it?

  • Great view, thanks! Regarding the poisoning of eagles, see The Golden Eagle Trust website and please sign the petition. These sea-eagles, reintroduced to Scotland after centuries of persecution had eradicated them, are being poisoned in Scotland and eagles of both sorts reintroduced to Ireland from Norway and Scotland are being poisoned in Eire. Please help to change this barbaric way of thinking, sign the petition and spread the word. Thanks - on behalf of these magnificent birds.

  • looks to me like one of mr. dennis's "barn doors". great shot sgaorishal.
