i would still take a high end alien ware or a custom built performance PC even though a lot bigger over a mac anytime especially the mac book air and safari sucks anyways plus the 1700 dollar price ag on it screams no thank you another overpriced paperweight from apple that doesn't do gaming and very weak specs

@ironsaber2 FYI Macs do gaming. Most PC games that come out our also coming out on Safari. There's also Bootcamp to load Windows if REALLY need to do gaming. Also computer weren't made for gaming. They were made for productivity. And from my experiences with my Macbook Pro is that it's a lot more productive and faster than any Windows computer. Not saying I don't like Windows. I just prefer Macs.

@ItzMeCasey why would i pay that much to run boot camp and a laptop with a small hard drive and almost no upgradability which will also go obsolete in about 6months to a year and if i want a good mac with good specs its over 2800 dollars for a laptop its 1800 and computers were first made for productivity but things have changed in 20 years gaming is now bigger then the movie industry computers are used now to game more then ever everything from flash games to crysis get with the times

@ironsaber2 I got my 2007 Macbook Pro for $600. It runs and looks as if it were brand new. It has a 500GB HDD with 2GB of RAM. I play only one game which is SC2 and it runs pretty smoothly on the right settings. I use it to take notes, write essays, make presentations, and edit photos. The quality of the parts put into a Mac exceed most in Windows Computer unless you build your own or buy one from Alienware. But the big thing is the OS. Also Boot Camp is free. It just cost money to buy the OS.

@ItzMeCasey but again u cant game on those specs and my friend got one for 800 that was 200dollars off and only had 2gb ram a dual core and a 130gb hd and what i mean was why would i pay that huge price for a mac book only to run windows on it and i have a 4 year old pc that runs fine and u can still play your basic mmos on it and runs all productivity software fine my main pc is only a year old and has a dual core and 3 gb of ram and i cant stand it i want at least an i5 with 1tb hd & 8gb ram

When was the last time you actually used a DVD drive? For me it has been several months. I recently bought the new 11.6" MacBook Air. I also have a Win7 Desktop. The common mistake people make is that they compare the MacBook Air with a Netbook. That is a wrong assumption. All benchmark tests have shown that its performance is similar to the MacBook regular and similar priced PC Laptops. I can play CoD 6 on it. Can you do that on a Netbook? No, you can't!

@goldtrim10 The new one uses flash storage of up to 256GB. It's 2-3x faster than regular hard drives, so boot ups, and opening apps will be faster. The higher end model would be ideal if you want more storage, but like I said, you'll only getting 256GB maximum for now.

But it's not all bad news, it can get broken in an envolope with ups mail yay!

I have a macbook air and its great but i would never buy it full price. Pricing is just a rip off as to other products APPLE offered. Its a great laptop for everyday use but I would not use it for heavy duty applications. The lacks of USB ports is annoying too. Overall great mobile laptop with some sacrifice.
